"These hands crafted countless arms for the angelic armies. One blessing-tipped rifle is worth more than every single one of your pathetic soldiers combined, so I'd think twice before assuming that I don't know the perfection of my own work."
— Carmilla.

Lady Carmilla Carmine of Pride, codenamed Camille, is a supporting character in Hazbin Hotel: Journey to the Light.

She serves as a minor antagonist in Chapter 1, a minor character in Chapter 2, and a major antagonist-turned-supporting character in Chapter 5.

A fallen angel and "head of the table" among the Overlords, Carmilla is the ruler of Sin City, Pentagram City's industrial circle, and Hell's highest ranking Overlord. She manages Carmine Industries, a private corporation which designs and manufactures firearms of angelic property, branded as Carmine-Crafted Blessing-Tipped firearms, and thus has amassed a powerful and feared status from her business. Additionally, she keeps an all-seeing eye over the ring of Pride, reporting any oddities directly to Lucifer himself.

Biography

Events of Hazbin Hotel: Journey to the Light

Background

Carmilla was an angel blacksmith and weapon forger who eventually fell from Heaven. Like all fallen angels, she was sent by Lucifer to the Envy Ring to be devoured by Leviathan. However, unlike most who came before her, Carmilla, being a very skilled and disciplined warrior, evaded Leviathan for some time. When she became trapped within Leviathan's jaws, she used one of her angelic weapons to mutilate the inside of his mouth, cutting out one of his teeth in the process and forcing the Leviathan to release her. Lucifer, who had been watching the whole ordeal on a conjured sofa chair and eating circus peanuts, was deeply impressed and entertained by the "show" Carmilla had put on.

Having grown to respect Carmilla after she took one of Leviathan's teeth, the King of Hell whisked Carmilla out of the Envy Ring and offered her a way out through a soul contract, on the condition that she would watch over the Pride Ring, carry out assassination missions, and do menial tasks for the King of Hell. Carmilla, with no other real choice, accepted Lucifer's contract.

Over the years, Carmilla founded her own private corporation that produced and marketed angelic weapons on the black market, known as Carmine Industries, which progressively earned her a feared and respected status from all classes of demon. Among the Overlords, she became regarded as the "head of the table" and has all of their respect/fear.

Chapter 1

In the Chapter 1 premiere "That's Entertainment", Carmilla appears along with Lucifer, Missi Zilla, and Beelzebub following the end of the annual Extermination, opening the curtains to their penthouse with a burning glare after Charlie signaled the end of the event.

In "Deal with the Devil", Carmilla reports to Lucifer the appearance of Heaven's Light in Hell after the holy object had split the dimension's sky in half, and advises him that it is in his best interest to deal with the problem before Charlie does something foolish with it.

Chapter 2

In "Aftermath", Carmilla and her fellow Overlords gathered for "Challenge Day", a ritual event where upper-class and higher demons could vie for the souls of others. Amidst conversations with Rosie and Sock and Buskin, the event halted dramatically as Stellar burst onto the scene with a grandiose musical performance that grinds the entire event to a halt. While Carmilla discreetly expressed her disapproval with sips of wine, Rosie and Sock maintained polite smiles, while Buskin shared Carmilla's annoyance.

Later, Carmilla, Sock, Buskin, and Missi Zilla retreated to a penthouse. As Carmilla indulged in more liqueur, Sock questioned whether her suggestion to move was solely to avoid Stellar and Carmilla brushed off the inquiry with a thinly veiled excuse. However, Stellar kicked open the door to their penthouse and announcing himself with flair. The Music Overlord gives his fellow Overlords an updates on the Vees' struggles, nefariously noting a power vacuum as the influencers were busy rebuilding their armies after failing to destroy the Hazbin Hotel, socially and literally. Sock, Buskin, and Missi Zilla couldn't help but find amusement in his ambition to take advantage of the power vacuum, much to Stellar's ire. In a fit of insecurity, Stellar lashed out, bragging about his talents and belittling his peers to prop himself up. Carmilla, fed up with his antics, intervened, delivering a sharp rebuke that shattered Stellar's ego. She exposed his insecurity-fueled tactics, asserting that he was easily replaceable and a mere hindrance to true talent. With a cool demeanor, Carmilla dismantled Stellar's facade, leaving him visibly shaken as he made a hasty exit while choking back tears.

After Carmilla sighs with exhaustion, Sock interjects with a "Thanks, Mom.", earning an annoyed glance from Carmilla which Sock gleefully returned with a mischievous grin.

Chapter 5

In "A Complete Shitshow", Carmilla is tasked with keeping a watch on Stolas by Lucifer himself, who subtly threatens to erase her soul should she fail. Carmilla is then transported back to her headquarters by the King of Hell, assuring one of her underlings that she is up for the challenge.

In "Good for the Soul", Carmilla is being driven through Sin City in her armored limo, concentrating on all of the eyeballs across Pride in an attempt to find Stolas. While trying to find the fugitive prince's location, her limo is ambushed by the Insurgency, who chase her limo in five armored vans. Carmilla calmly deploys her limo's strip spikes to dispatch several of the vans, and after one van nearly runs the limo off the road, she deploys her limo's sunroof-mounted, blessed minigun and orders one of her assistants to use it against the Insurgency. Her terrified assistant follows Carmilla's orders, managing to destroy one of the Insurgency's vans before one soldier snipes him off of the gun with an angelic rifle. Carmilla driver then follows suit when he is shot through the window by Striker, revealing that this has been a planned attack. Carmilla's limo spirals out of control and crashes into an empty alleyway. The Insurgency soldiers exit their vans with angelic weapons in hand, slowly advancing towards the limo. The head soldier opens the back passenger door to which the soldiers begin shooting in an attempt to kill Carmilla, but once the smoke clears, the Overlord is nowhere to be found.

Suddenly, Carmilla's elongated claws impale the lead soldier from behind, with the Overlord having teleported to safety during the crash. Employing the impaled soldier's body as a shield, she deflects the gunfire from the remaining squad. When their ammunition is depleted, she hurls the shredded body at them, swiftly cleaving three stunned soldiers in half with a single swipe of her claws. Moving deftly, she seized another soldier and smashed his head into the concrete, reducing it to a paste. Swiftly disarming a soldier wielding a knife, she propelled him into a wall, impaling him with the thrown knife as he impacted with the wall. She proceeded to incapacitate a soldier attempting to shoot her with a sidearm by severing his hands and then trisecting him with her claws. With four soldiers remaining, she grabbed two nearby grunts by their heads and forced them to headbutt each other until their skulls explode from the impact. Carmilla then gruesomely snaps the neck of an Insurgency member, their head grotesquely facing backward. Assuming she has quelled her opposition, Carmilla employs her clairvoyance to detect a soldier concealed within a dumpster. Calmly, she opens the dumpster, revealing a female soldier who pleads for mercy. Without hesitation, Carmilla retrieves the soldier's angelic assault rifle and coldly kills her with detached indifference. Utilizing the rifle, she double taps the fallen to ensure they stay down.

Following the massacre, Carmilla hears Izzi demanding a status report from one of the fallen soldiers on a phone-like communication device attached to their belt. She answers the call and has an intense discussion with Izzi wherein she discovers that he and his men have been stealing weapons from her. Though enraged at Izzi's thievery, Carmilla says that she loves a good challenge and challenges Izzi and his men with taking her down before abruptly ending the call and teleporting away.

Carmilla then arrives to her high-tech, extravagant mansion which has been upgraded by Melvyn and Sabre with a defense system, filling it to the brim with an array of hidden angelic weapons guaranteed to dispose of any intruders. Following this, Carmilla's clairvoyance alerts her to Stolas reentering the Pride Ring, to which she urgently walks away to her office to investigate.

In "Let's Make a Deal", Charlie, Alastor, Vaggie, and Razzle and Dazzle go to Carmilla's mansion in an attempt to forge an alliance with her. Upon making it to the front gate, Alastor and Vaggie are forced to forfeit their weapons by Carmilla's security. The three are then escorted into the mansion where they find themselves in a room with dozens of angelic rifles trained on them. Carmilla appears in the room and, not one to have her time wasted, cuts straight to the point, threatening to have the trio executed if they waste her time. Charlie tries to make a deal with Carmilla, requesting that Carmilla and her men protect any sinners from the Exterminators on the upcoming Extermination Day while she herself will try to reason with their commanders. When Carmilla asks what she will get in return, Charlie - having not taken that into account - nervously says that she will give Carmilla as many angelic weapons as she wants and free her from Lucifer's control. Carmilla laughs off the princess' deal as she already has every single holy firearm variation known to demonkind, and tells Charlie that she cannot reason with the Exterminators or make a difference in Hell. Knowing that a deal cannot be made, Charlie, Vaggie, and Alastor try to leave, but Carmilla refuses to let them go and fully intends to kill them for wasting her time. When Charlie sternly reminds Carmilla that Lucifer would not appreciate his daughter being murdered, Carmilla claimed that it would not matter because Lucifer would not know it was her that killed Charlie.

Having prepared for the worst case scenario, Vaggie disarmed a nearby guard of his angelic rifle and begins unleashing fire on Carmilla's security, the same time Razzle and Dazzle shift into their Full Demon Forms and fight back, and Alastor summons demonic portals below Carmilla's underlings, allowing his minions to drag them inside. During the massive fight, an aggravated Charlie begins fighting Carmilla personally. During the scuffle, Carmilla proves superior to Charlie in sheer physical combat and manages to shoot Charlie in the abdomen with an angelic handgun, where she learns that the princess is immune to angelic bullets. During their fight, Charlie injures Carmilla with her demonic flames, creating a blast of fire that sends Carmilla flying into a wall. Carmilla grins and acknowledges that she cannot defeat the princess as is. The Overlord warns Charlie that she has made a very powerful enemy and promises to kill everyone Charlie cares about for the events that have transpired before allowing them to leave for the time being.

In "Hell 2 Heaven", Carmilla's mansion is attacked by Izzi and the Insurgency. Carmilla immediately takes charge and orders her soldiers to defend the base. Her well-equipped soldiers and advanced security system prove too much for the Insurgency initially, the Insurgency deploy a squadron of soldiers who possess angelic armor and weapons grafted to different parts of their skin and/or limbs. The enhanced soldiers mow through Carmilla's men and security system, leaving the Overlord with no choice but to fight them herself.

Carmilla is confronted by Izzi and proposed to a one-on-one fist fight, which Carmilla eagerly accepts. However, the second Izzi is within range, Carmilla tries to kill the sinner with a blessed flamethrower, only for Izzi to - at the exact same time - wound Carmilla with a blessed pistol. Despite being wounded, Carmilla applauds Izzi for knowing that Carmilla would be pragmatic enough to kill Izzi the moment she had the chance.

With the Overlord weakened, Izzi got up close and engaged her in a brutal fight. The two brutally beat up and wound each other. During this, Carmilla summons the strength to cut Izzi's arm off with her claws, though it did not bother him since he would regenerate from it eventually. Carmilla manages to overpower Izzi through sheer strength, stabbing him in the abdomen with her claws and bringing out her blessed sidearm to kill him with a point-blank shot to the head. However, Rum shows up and stabs Carmilla in the side with his blessed knife, throwing the weakened and wounded Overlord off of Izzi. Izzi takes Carmilla's sidearm for himself and prepares to kill her as she lays bleeding on the ground. However, when Izzi fires the gun, a "BANG!" flag comes out, much to everyone's confusion. After a moment of awkwardness and confusion, Charlie descends upon Carmilla's mansion (having been tipped off to the Insurgency's planned attack by Sir Pentious), and has used her powers to render everyone's weapons harmless (including turning one soldier's sword into a dildo).

In a later turn of events, Charlie comes to Carmilla's rescue when Izzi threatens to end the Overlord's life. Employing her abilities, Charlie forms a protective shield around Carmilla and struggles to heal her wounds. This act of kindness surprises Carmilla, showcasing a different side of Charlie. Charlie attempts to reason with Izzi, seeking a path to redemption for the sinner, but Izzi rejects her efforts with hatred and departs. Following the encounter, Carmilla expresses gratitude to Charlie for saving her, a stark contrast to their previous meeting. She pledges to repay the favor in the future, displaying a newfound respect for Charlie. The two even shake hands as a sign of their agreement, although Carmilla clarifies that this doesn't transform them into friends. With a playful grin, she instructs Charlie to leave her mansion.

In "Extermination Day: Part 3", Carmilla settles her debt with Charlie by aiding her and her comrades in repelling the Exterminators on Extermination Day. Taking charge of her formidable private army, she directs a relentless assault on the Exorcists, utilizing their own angelic weaponry to slaughter a great deal of the angels. Confirming to Charlie that their debt is repaid, Carmilla swiftly withdraws from the skirmish along with her forces to prevent significant losses.

In "Challenge Day", After the Extermination, Carmilla participates in "Challenge Day," an occasion orchestrated by Lucifer where high-ranking demons can vie for dominion over the souls of their rivals. Carmilla showcases her dominance over her adversaries, earning praise from Sock and Buskin and Alastor. Shortly thereafter, Charlie and Vaggie make a public appearance at the event, announcing their engagement and sparking mixed reactions.

Throughout the gathering, Carmilla condescendingly addresses Vaggie, mocking the idea of a princess such as Charlie being romantically involved with a lowly sinner. Vaggie does her best to ignore Carmilla's taunts, but eventually, her anger reaches a boiling point, prompting her to challenge Carmilla to a duel on Challenge Day. Charlie attempts to dissuade Vaggie from the confrontation, but Carmilla readily accepts the challenge, and both parties shake hands to formalize the duel.

Carmilla and Vaggie face off within the ring of fire, where the victor will seize ownership of the loser's soul. Despite Vaggie's martial expertise and training, Carmilla effortlessly evades all her assaults with a graceful finesse. In a display of superiority, Carmilla even offers critiques on Vaggie's stance and maneuvers mid-fight. Despite Vaggie's determined efforts, Carmilla emerges victorious, imparting a lesson on the limits of a sinner's abilities. She moves to claim Vaggie's soul, but Charlie steps in, assuming her Full Demon Form and firmly stating that Vaggie's soul is not up for grabs. Carmilla glares at them with fiery intensity before departing the scene.

In "The Baphomet Ball", Vaggie grapples with a profound sense of weakness and insecurity since her defeat at Carmilla's hands, doubting her worth, especially in relation to her role in protecting Charlie. She begins to believe that if she can't adequately safeguard Charlie, then she might not hold much value to her at all. Charlie, deeply concerned for Vaggie, endeavors to demonstrate just how much she means to her by taking her to the prestigious annual royal gathering held after each Extermination —the Baphomet Ball.

At the event, Carmilla is also in attendance, her gaze fixed on Vaggie, though Vaggie avoids meeting her eyes out of shame. Amidst the festivities, Vaggie and Charlie seize the spotlight on the dance floor, engaging in a dance and song together, which lifts Vaggie's spirits. Carmilla witnesses Vaggie's adept dancing skills and is genuinely impressed by her proficiency.

Later, finding herself alone in the palace courtyard, Vaggie is approached by Carmilla. Carmilla respectfully requests Vaggie to showcase her dancing abilities, and Vaggie, though stunned by Carmilla's appearance and request, obliges. Carmilla begins to dance organically with Vaggie, guiding the dance with precise commands and eventually taking Vaggie's hand. Throughout the dance, Carmilla is taken aback by Vaggie's discipline and eventually allows Vaggie to take the lead. As the lengthy dance number concludes, Carmilla bows her head in respect to Vaggie, acknowledging her natural talent and declaring that Vaggie was meant to be a dancer rather than a fighter. Carmilla then departs, leaving Vaggie with renewed confidence and a completely altered perception of Carmilla.

Personality

Aptly described as a "bad bitch CEO" by Peel and regarded as the head of the Overlords, Carmilla is a stoic, selective, ruthless, lawful, and disciplined Overlord with a intimidating, business-focused, and no-nonsense attitude towards others. She highly values her corporation's maintenance and the achievement of her grand objectives, detesting wasted time. This icy disposition extends to her apprentices, whom she desires to see succeed but is unrelenting in her expectations. While refraining from causing harm, she displays unforgiving strictness, swiftly addressing tardiness or imprudence by openly critiquing their capabilities. Despite willingly trading her soul for immense power, she remains a wise mentor figure for others, selectively imparting her wisdom to those she deems worthy.

As noted prior, she can be quite ruthless, profiting from the constant gang and turf wars in the Pentagram, as well as offering a heavy toll to anyone who wishes to hire her or her operatives for an assassination; their immortal soul.

Carmilla is an uncompromising perfectionist when it comes to those under her purview, demanding nothing less than excellence. She spares no hesitation in delivering harsh verbal reprimands to any employee or student who fails to meet her standards. Her pursuit of excellence extends even to her fellow Overlords in Hell, as she leverages their imperfections as a means to motivate them toward improvement. Carmilla establishes exceptionally high benchmarks for her employees and the other Overlords, unapologetically subjecting them to intense pressure to ensure they continuously strive for the best.

A constantly engrossed and driven Overlord, Carmilla exudes laser-like focus in her work and becomes an indomitable force when pursuing her objectives. Despite her fervor for her tasks, she harbors disdain for assassination missions assigned by Lucifer, deeming them to be time-wasting endeavors and seeing herself above doing grunt work. However, recognizing the potential repercussions of disobeying the King of Hell, she begrudgingly completes them. On these missions, she kills brutally and ruthlessly, yet swiftly and with exacting precision, devoid of any hesitations or post-action remorse. Her sole aim is to expedite the job's conclusion, enabling her to swiftly return to her primary business pursuits.

Undoubtedly, she embodies mercilessness towards her adversaries. While not exhibiting overt sadism, she displays a cold, emotionless demeanor and a complete lack of hesitation when eliminating rivals and targets. This has earned her widespread fear and respect throughout Hell, commanding reverence from the majority of Overlords and noble demons, with even the Ars Goetia being aware of her.

Carmilla is shown to be very honorable, valuing the merit of others and is open to sharing her knowledge with those who have earned it. Anyone capable of impressing her earns her respect. A notable instance occurred when Charlie showcased her formidable powers, proving impervious to Carmilla's weaponry and triumphing over the Overlord in combat. In response, Carmilla applauded Charlie's prowess and permitted her and her companions to depart unharmed. Additionally, Carmilla is willing to align with her designated targets, particularly when faced with a common adversary. When Charlie intervened to save Carmilla from the clutches of Izzi, the Overlord conveyed her gratitude and fulfilled her debt to the princess by aiding in repelling the threat posed by the Exterminators. Despite initially mocking Vaggie and insultingly suggesting that she was trying to move up Hell's hierarchy by marrying Charlie, Carmilla grew to respect the sinner upon seeing her dancing prowess, even engaging in a tango with her and allowing the sinner to lead, before bowing in respect.

Furthermore, although she doesn't shy away from reproaching or critiquing them, Carmilla does demonstrate genuine care, respect, and concern for her fellow Overlords, particularly Sock and Buskin, Rosie, and Missi Zilla. When Stellar launched into a narcissistic tirade, demeaning his fellow Overlords and belittling them to make himself feel better, Carmilla stood by her colleagues and, in response, admonished Stellar for his disrespect and cut down his ego, emphasizing that he was easily replaceable as the Overlord of Music. Moreover, Carmilla didn't hesitate to call out Stellar for leveraging his influence and power to suppress or enslave those he knew deep down were more talented than himself, something which deeply disgusted her, especially considering her commitment to mentoring others and fostering their success.

Appearance

Carmilla stands tall and slender, adorned with grey skin and red eyes accentuated by white irises. Her long white hair, which takes various stylized forms, resembles horn-like shapes with sleek black stripes. Clothed in a sleek, form-fitting black ensemble, her attire features conspicuous white "X" patches along the length of her legs. On occasion, she is depicted wearing a light red scarf. Perhaps her most notable physical feature is her remarkably large hands, with fingers extending up to an impressive five feet in length, each tipped with long and sharp claws.

As an Overlord, she owns over a thousand, if not millions, of souls.
    • Teleportation: Carmilla can teleport either to get to locations faster, to dodge enemy projectiles, or for quick escapes. Whenever she teleports, she leaves behind a massive plumb of black, toxic smoke, likely to confuse her opponents.

  • Influence: As an Overlord and direct subordinate of Lucifer, Carmilla has sway over virtually every sinner. Her very presence commands respect and fear from others, and allows her to order anyone into following her orders.
  • Intimidation: Carmilla exudes an extremely intimidating presence due to her due to her cold and merciless demeanor, her ability to effortlessly kill powerful demons thanks to her stealth and angelic equipment, or both. Even her own apprentices are clearly terrified at the price of disappointing her.
  • Marksmanship: Carmilla is very skilled at handling firearms with deadly efficiency, mostly handguns of angelic properties.
  • Master Assassin: Carmilla is a highly skilled assassin, casually killing whoever Lucifer orders her to and never failing her tasks. She effortlessly destroyed Vice Grip's entire crime reign in just one evening by killing dozens of his men before killing the Kingpin himself.
  • Natural Weaponry: Carmilla sports extremely long, sharp claws that allow her to bisect, disembowel, and dismember up to several demons at once, like a hot knife slicing through butter.
  • Stealth: Carmilla, as a spy skilled in espionage, is incredibly adept at stealth. She was able to kill Vice Grip's men without making any sound, and approached the Kingpin from behind without being detected, only being noticed when she plunged her claws into his back and through his chest. She was later able to sneak up and stand right behind a squadron of Insurgency soldiers for several seconds without them knowing she was there.

Relationships

Allies

Charlie Magne

Carmilla's relationship with Charlie started out very uneasy and antagonistic. It was clear that Carmilla held a very low opinion of Charlie due to her naivety, even saying that if Charlie was her personal student, she would embarrass her to the point of wanting to crawl into a hole and die.

When Charlie and her friends visited Carmilla's mansion with hopes of forming an alliance against the Exterminators, it was clear that Carmilla had little to no interest in Charlie's offer, viewing the Extermination as inevitable and something that cannot be prevented. She quickly asserted her impatience, threatening their lives if they waste her time. Failing to strike a deal, Charlie and her group attempt to leave, but Carmilla intends to kill them over a perceived waste of her time. Vaggie initiates an attack, leading to a fierce battle. In the ensuing clash, Charlie and Carmilla engage in personal combat, revealing Charlie's immunity to angelic bullets and Carmilla's superior physical prowess. Despite injuring each other, the fight ends inconclusively. Carmilla warns Charlie of the enmity she has incurred and vows to harm those dear to her, permitting them to leave, at least temporarily.

With a playful grin, she instructed Charlie to leave her mansion. Carmilla later paid her debt back to Charlie, helping the princess fend off the Exterminators before swiftly withdrawing.

Others

Lucifer Magne

Lucifer is Carmilla's king and the owner of her soul. In the past, Carmilla sold her soul to him for all of the powers she has in the present, which allowed her to rise to the rank of Hell's most influential Overlord and become a member of his inner circle. However, this came at the price of having to constantly watch over the Pride Ring and do lowly tasks whenever the King of Hell demands it.

It is implied that Carmilla is indifferent or outright dislikes Lucifer for the constant stress he puts over her. She absolutely despises being sent on assassination missions by him, since she views them as a waste of time. It is also implied that Lucifer has punished Carmilla in the past whenever something in the Pride Ring slips by her all-seeing eyes. Despite her friction with the King of Hell, Carmilla still completes her assigned tasks and remains loyal to him out of fear since he could strip her of her powers, or worse, if she were to defy him.

Vaggie

Carmilla and Vaggie's relationship started with tension during Charlie's attempted negotiation, where Carmilla insulted Vaggie by referring her as Charlie's "pet." This initial friction escalated during Challenge Day, where Vaggie challenged Carmilla to a duel, resulting in Carmilla's victory and a harsh lesson on a sinner's limitations. Despite this conflict, Charlie prevented Carmilla from claiming Vaggie's soul.

At the annual Baphomet Ball, Vaggie avoided Carmilla due to the lingering shame of her defeat. However, during a dance performance with Charlie, Vaggie's talent captured Carmilla's attention. Intrigued, Carmilla later invited Vaggie to dance, guided her and acknowledged Vaggie's innate talent and destiny as a dancer. Carmilla's statement impacted Vaggie more than the Overlord seemed to realize, reminding Vaggie of her initial dreams to become a dancer before the circumstances of her life steered her toward a much more tragic path. This revelation impacted Vaggie, deepened their understanding and respect for each other.

Stellar

In their roles as Overlords, Carmilla and Stellar are familiar with one another. Stellar was eager to earn Carmilla's approval and to establish a collaborative relationship with her fellow Overlord, having made persistent effort in this regard.

When Stellar attempted to compensate for his insecurities by belittling his fellow Overlords, Carmilla promptly interrupted his narcissistic tirade. She pointedly conveyed to him that his musical influence could be easily replaced by someone else, emphasizing that there were countless singers superior to him, and bluntly stated that he was not unique and was using the power he gained to suppress them, .

However, Carmilla found Stellar to be utterly insufferable company and preferred not to associate with him.

Sock and Buskin

Carmilla is well-acquainted with Sock and Buskin. Being an enthusiast of the arts herself, Carmilla generally appreciates Sock and Buskin's unwavering commitment to promoting their respective artistic endeavors. She also came to Sock and Buskin's aid when Stellar was belittling them. Nevertheless, she frequently admonishes them for their haughty demeanor and tendency to let their pride get the best of them.

Sock, in particular, affectionately refers to Carmilla as "mom," given her prominent role as the leader among the Overlords.

Chapter 5

"Lucifer: Well, well, well. I'd recognize that unhinged grin and that pouty face anywhere. (laughs) Welcome back, ladies!
Carmilla: What is the occasion, Your Highness?
Lucifer: What occasion? Can't a man have a chat with his two most devoted Overlords?
Carmilla: You've never called for us on such an occasion... Except to show off your rubber duck collection.
Lucifer: That is more important than any assignment you'll ever receive. (chuckles) Oh, where are my manners?! Carmilla, would you like anything? Wine, tea, maybe some of my apple cider straight from the orchid?
Carmilla: Some earl grey would be divine.
Lucifer: (to Corey) You heard her! (to Peel) Peel, you already know what our Missi desires...
Peel: (sarcastically) Oh, joy... (Corey hands Carmilla a cup of tea from a tray, while Peel struggles to drag a demon's carcass over to Missi Zilla, who savagely leaps onto and devours the carcass)
Lucifer: (to Carmilla and Missi Zilla) Now that we're all comfy-cozy, I say enough dilly-dallying. I know we all have our sectors to run.
Carmilla: Indeed.
Lucifer: Oh, and I trust you two understand that I don't accept failure... (he slowly puts a knife on Carmilla's soul contract, causing her to wince slightly in pain) You haven't failed me yet. It would be unwise for you to start now.
Carmilla: (she stares at Lucifer with determination) Bring it.
Lucifer: (he grins widely and takes the knife off of Carmilla's contract) Alrighty! First thing's first... (to Missi Zilla, pulling out an angelic feather) This feather belongs to the wings of one of those young angels Charlotte brought into Heaven. You've devoured all manner of demons, and I'm sure they've tasted ravishing, but wouldn't you like to try your fangs on something a little more... Heavenly? (Missi Zilla drools and laughs with excitement; Lucifer chuckles) That's my girl! (he drops the feather to the ground as Missi sniffs to ravenously) Pick up their scent, follow it, and it should lead you to the angels. If Charlotte's friends are stupid enough to try and defend them, by all means, have some sinners as an appetizer. (having picked up the scent, Missi cackles insanely before barreling out of Lucifer's office) AND REMEMBER TO HAVE FUN! (to Carmilla) And as for you... Stolas informed me at the gathering this evening of some apocalypse making its way to Hell. I suspect he's up to something. Keep an eye on him so he doesn't pull anything funny. Furthermore, you are to double your surveillance around Pride. You may have business meetings, maybe have some scheduled time with friends, sleep.... Fuck that. I don't want to hear about any of it. Until I declare it so, all you are to do is keep an eye on Stolas, and report any oddities or things out of place. Do you have any complaints? Problems...?
Carmilla: Why would I have any? I signed up for this, and my opinion has no value in the conversation, anyway.
Lucifer: (grins) Clever girl.
Carmilla: (she bows her head) It shall be done, my lord.
Lucifer: You always tell me what I want to here, and Missi does as I command with no problem at all! That's why you two are my favorites! (he giggles and gets up from his throne) Alright, class dismissed! Arrivederci, my submissive little looking glass! Ta-ta! (he teleports Carmilla out of his office)

"Izzi: (speaking through a phone in a dead Insurgency member's pocket) Kylie? Kylie...? KYLIE, GET OFF YER LAZY FUCKIN' ASS AND GIVE ME A STATUS REPORT!!! HELLOOOO?!
Carmilla: (she picks up the phone and answers it) Someone needs to work on their temperament... And their communication skills. You must be the Demon Hunter.
Izzi: (cackles) The very same, love. And you must be Carmilla Carmine! You made the top of our hitlist, love! Congrats! Only the best Luci's looking glass and angelic weapons magnate!
Carmilla: If you and your comrades are coming at me like this, you're either desperate to die or very stupid. And I don't have time for either. You have about five seconds to say something interesting before I end this discussion.
Izzi: Five seconds? I'm insulted. Yer pretty cocky, you frigid c*nt. I just wanted to extend my thanks to you fer lettin' us borrow some of your stockpile! Me and my crew have been having a blast with it! Those blessed grenades? Mmm... They get me pretty rock hard, not gonna lie.
Carmilla: So, you're the vagrants that have been stealing my arms for the past year.
Izzi: Stealing is such a harsh word. I prefer the term "misappreciation of assets'.
Carmilla: Misappropriation, stupido.
Izzi: Oh, shit, really? Ah... I'm not into that business shit.
Carmilla: Then why are you interfering in mine, Demon Hunter?
Izzi: I'm not too big inta dealmaking. I'm more of a smash and grab kinda guy and well, soon we're gonna show you just how good your guns really are.
Carmilla: (laughs) Aye yi yi... If you ever saw an Exterminator face-to-face, you'd know what it takes to get the raw material you and your friends now hold in your hands. One blessing-tipped rifle is worth more than every single one of your pathetic soldiers combined, so I'd think twice before assuming that I don't know the perfection of my own work. You do not want to fuck with me. But... I like a challenge. So, if you wish to see the Void so soon, then vamos a la muerte, Izzi.
Izzi: You know my name?
Carmilla: I know everything, Demon Hunter. Now, shut up and give me action, not words.
Izzi: (cackles) Challenge accepted, bitch! I look for- (Carmilla crushes the phone in her hand and teleports away)

"Carmilla: Melvyn. Sabre. Rundown the defense system.
Melvyn: (pointing to schematics of Carmilla's house) Ceiling and floor-mounted motion-detecting angelic turrets placed in electronic, sliding doors at each exit point. Invisibles lasers placed in the living room, bedroom, and armory that, when tripped, will deploy angelic machine guns to dispose of any intruders. Blessed missiles on the helipad designed to instantly dispose of ariel threats. 70 soldiers patrolling the grounds, 65 on the roof, all armed with Blessing-tipped rifles.
Sabre: Aaaand for your own defense, we've carefully crafted a variation of Model 567 with 70-round capacity, ergonomic grips, and an inlay made from authentic cherubim arrows, guaranteed to erase any soul it's pointed at!
Carmilla: This defense system is to be upgraded on a weekly basis until this charade is over. Do not forget to have that flamethrower model with seraphim flames ready by three workdays.
"
— Carmilla ordering Melvyn and Sabre around.
"Carmilla: Well, well. Princess Charlotte and Lord Alastor coming to my home to make a deal... Without scheduling a meeting.
Charlie: (laughs nervously as Carmilla stares at her) Sorry, ma'am. But this is an urgent-
Carmilla: (turns to Vaggie) Are you the help? Isn't that what the two dragons are for?
Vaggie: I'm her girlfriend.
Carmilla: So, you're a pet. Understood, chica.
"
— Carmilla to Charlie and her friends.
"Alastor: Carmilla! You look lovely for one under nigh-endless stress! Pardon the query, but in light of recent events, has King Lucifer finally let you off your leash?
Carmilla: Always the charmer, Alastor. But, you and your friends know that there are no less than twelve angelic rifles trained on you. (she presses a button that deploys an angelic minigun from the ceiling which aims itself at the trio) Thirteen, including mine. So, one of you better say something interesting fast, or my custodian is going to spend the next week cleaning you from the walls.
"
— Carmilla threatening Alastor, Vaggie, and Charlie.
"(chuckles) Oh, darling. It's adorable that you think you can stop what's coming, or make a difference. I refuse to waste precious resources on a fool's errand. The cleanse has been occurring before you could count your ABCs. Isn't it about time you grow up and accept reality? Just because your father has the mind of a toddler doesn't mean you have to as well. And now that you've wasted several minutes of my precious time, you're going to need a lot more than nice words to make it out of here alive."
— Carmilla to Charlie.
"Carmilla: Muy bueno, princess... You fight well. Did Lucifer teach you?
Charlie: My father tried to teach me a lot of things, but there's only one piece of advice from him that I took to heart. Don't take shit from other demons.
Carmilla: That's nice, only I'm no demon. Your heritage might make you immune to my weaponry, but (points to Vaggie and Alastor) them? The wayward souls in your little hotel? ...Those young saints under your care? They aren't so privileged. I can't hurt you, but I can hurt the ones you love. You've fucked up and made a very powerful enemy today, darling.
Charlie: (shifts into her Full Demon Form) If you lay one of your oversized fingers on any of my friends, I'll make you FUCKING SUFFER!!!
Carmilla: Fair enough. But the deed will be done, and you'll have no one to blame but yourself. You reap what you sow, princess. Now vamos, before I change my mind.
"
— Carmilla to Charlie.
"Corey: My Lady, if you don't mind the query... What do you see when you use those laser eyes?
Carmilla: Red.
Corey: ...Ok, cool.
"
— Corey and Carmilla at the Baphomet Ball.
