Chapter 5[]
In "A Simple Scouting Mission", Destiny is with Lute when Ebony returns from a "scouting mission" that went horribly wrong (in reality, Lute had comprised the mission's unit of the Exorcists' "dead weight" and set them all up to be killed). Destiny watches stoically as Lute brutally excoriates and assaults Ebony, knowing that she cannot do anything to stop Lute and not wanting to escalate things further. After threatening Ebony, Lute ordered Destiny to immediately put Ebony on cleaning duties, but after Lute leaves, Destiny discreetly takes Ebony to the infirmity to tend to her.
While in the infirmary, Ebony tells Destiny what Sable had said, in her dying words, about Exterminators being nothing to their superiors, to which Destiny harshly responds that Sable was correct. Ebony tells Destiny that even though Sable begged her to leave with her dying breath, she still wants to remain an Exterminator, not leave her "sisters" behind, and live up to her mother's memory. Destiny somberly presents Ebony with three options; leave their ranks and risk being executed for desertion; forfeit all her morals and become the deadly warrior everyone expects her to be; or be killed by demons during the cleanse. Destiny also gives Ebony a blunt reminder that the Exterminators are not her sisters, but rather her comrades. After fixing Ebony up, Destiny hands her a mop for her new position and leaves somberly.
Personality[]
Destiny is very straightforward, pragmatic and somewhat stoic. She maintains a professional demeanor at all times, even in the face of emotional turmoil, though a more emotional side can occasionally slip through the cracks.
She is caring but cautious around Ebony, having been the partner of Ebony's mother and serves as a bit of a mother figure to Ebony with her mother long gone. She gently tended to Ebony's wounds after a "scouting mission gone awry", while also trying to maintain a sense of discipline. For example, she did not intervene when Lute assaulted Ebony right before her, as she did not want to escalate the situation and potentially get herself and Ebony killed.
Destiny comes off as resigned, as if she has accepted the harsh realities of the Exorcist life. However, beneath her tough exterior, there's a hint of sadness and frustration, when it comes to Ebony's compassion. Destiny seems to admire Ebony's caring nature, but recognizes that it may ultimately be a liability in their line of work.

Chapter 5[]
- "Destiny: (she is patching up Ebony's arm, who is wincing and turning her head away, fighting back tears) Come on, dear...
Ebony: I let them down, Dest... (she rubs her face, tears streaming) You're not supposed to let family die! EVER!!!
Destiny: Eb... (she reluctantly strokes Ebony's hair to calm her down, before returning to her professional demeanor with a hushed tone) Come on. You can't be showing weakness around here.
Ebony: (she sniffles) I know... Destiny? When S- Sable died, she told me that we were all just expendable.
Destiny: (grimly) She is correct.
Ebony: (she sighs heavily; leaning up as she moves) But that's so SHITTY! (she winces) Fuck...
'Destiny: Stop. Moving. (she continues tending Ebony's arm)
Ebony: (she pouts) Even after this... I still wanna be with you guys. Like... I'm never gonna step up again, I promise... But I still wanna be there for all of you. You're my sisters. And, I dunno... I don't wanna just leave you guys... (she puts her head in her hands) Oh, God... What would Mom think of me?
Destiny: (she sighs) Eb, I'm gonna be straight with you. You have three paths ahead of you. You leave our ranks and be executed for desertion; throw aside any and all of your virtues and morals and become an Exterminator; ...or be left behind and killed by the Hellspawn.
Ebony: But... we're supposed to be-
Destiny: Exterminators. And nothing more. No one here is your 'sister'. We're all cold-blooded killers; born to maintain angel supremacy and the order of Archangel Azrael. It's all we're good for. May God help those of us who forget that. (she finishes patching Ebony up, putting her hands on her shoulders, sighing heavily) So much like you're mother... (Destiny looks sad, almost frustrated, she admires Ebony's compassion, but in this path of life it's only good for getting her killed) ...I'm sorry." - — Destiny caring for Ebony after the "scouting mission".
