The Gilded Kage is a mentioned character in Hazbin Hotel: Journey to the Light.
He was the lead guitarist of Azrael's band and the archangel's main male bestie, serving as the straight man to Azrael's schemes.
Personality[]
Kage, much like Azrael, is an immature and hedonistic rock star; he is a slacker who leverages his star power to have sex with angel babes left and right, when he's not playing video games or eating junk food, that is.
However, unlike Azrael, Kage is more realistic, and while Azrael is more in-your-fucking-face with his confidence, Kage plays his role with stoic confidence and subtle assurance, letting his guitar work speak for itself while Azrael takes center stage. Despite his doubts, Kage ultimately supports Azrael and is willing to go along for the ride, even when things seem far-fetched.
He is often abused by Azrael, verbally, or ignored by him, especially when he points out flaws in Azrael's plans. Azrael tends to throw Kage under the bus regularly, and claims that he has to "cover up all the holes" in Kage's music playing with his own.

- His name is a play on the phrase "gilded cage", which is a term used to describe a life of luxury without freedom.
- He is very obviously based on Kyle Gass, one of the founding members of Tenacious D alongside Jack Black (who is Azrael's inspirado and headcanon voice).
- His name "Kage" and "KG" are also real-life nicknames of Kyle Gass.
- His name "Gilded Kage" is simply a stage name.
- He does ten cock push-ups every morning when he gets out of bed.
- After Azrael was banished from Heaven, Kage broke his and Azrael's blood oath and made his own single called "The Gilded Kage Project", which was heard by big shit record dudes in Heaven. He became a Heaven-wide star shortly thereafter.
