"Ah, a worthy question, though a loaded one. You see, Gluttony is rife with overindulgence. Our beloved king, His Gluttonous Beelzebub, may not be the most powerful of our great rulers, but his kingdom knows no demarcations when it comes to opulence. His subjects revel in consuming nourishment and pleasure to the fullest. It's an absolute bacchanalia!"
Mr. P on the Gluttony Ring.

The Gluttony Ring, also known as Gluttony, is one of the seven rings of Hell. Much like the other rings sans Pride, sinners are incapable of accessing this ring.

Description[]

The Gluttony Ring epitomizes a realm of excess, unrestrained indulgence, relentless consumption, and ceaseless revelry. Its landscape boasts a tropical allure, adorned with numerous beaches and sprawling jungles. Vibrant palm trees dot the land, their leaves secreting honey. The skies overhead are predominantly awash in a radiant yellow hue, transitioning into a warm orange gradient, and bear a striking resemblance to a pervasive beehive pattern. The cities of Gluttony are overwhelmingly dominated by an abundance of restaurants, nightclubs, and food production facilities. Here, an insect-inspired motif prevails, as nearly every window is adorned with the intricate design of a beehive-inspired octagon pattern.

The Gluttony Ring serves as the indigenous habitat for Hell's carnivorous flora, regarded within the infernal realm as prized botanical wonders, particularly by Stolas. Flourishing abundantly throughout the domain of Gluttony, these plants possess a deceptive amiability, which swiftly transforms into voracious hunger when provoked.

Trivia[]

  • The Gluttony Ring's color is yellow because it is a color that is often used in real-life to stimulate hunger. Indeed, many real-life restaurant chains, such as McDonald's and Burger King, often use the color yellow in their logos.
  • The rain in the Gluttony Ring consists of honey and the clouds are made of cotton candy.
  • Gluttony's population consists mainly of insect demons and Hellhounds.
  • Every single thing in the Gluttony Ring is edible, including its skies, flora, and infrastructure.
  • The Gluttony Ring has the largest Hellhound population in all of Hell.
  • It is considered an adversarial ring to the Envy Ring, due to the differences in their culture. While Gluttony is more chaotic and focused on unbridled pleasure, Envy enforces strict social hierarchies based on wealth, race, and appearance, creating an oppressive and exclusive environment. While Gluttony's denizens are more easygoing and focused on enjoyment rather than maintaining social hierarchies, Envy’s denizens are close-minded and hostile to outsiders or those who don’t conform to their high standards, causing a lot of tension between the two rings.
    • Leviathan, the King of Envy, has outright referred to Gluttony as a ring full of demons with no prospects in life.
