"Life is full of change. Change we cannot control. You have to learn to change with it. Some people leave, and they never come back. You will adapt to that. But you have to learn to trust yourself and make your own decisions. You will learn that, when you are alone, you are enough to get yourself through most things. But if you ever do find people who stand by you, even when everyone else has walked away, hold on to them. It's not always who you would suspect. We'll get out of this, Charlie. I believe in you."
— Millicent's advice to Charlie.

Millicent of the Heavenly Host is a supporting protagonist in Hazbin Hotel: Journey to the Light.

She serves as a major protagonist in Chapter 3, and a posthumous protagonist in Chapter 4 and 5.

She was a warrior angel in the Heavenly Host who fought against Satan and Lucifer's armies during the War in Heaven. While defending the Universe and her homeworld, Millicent rescued a group of seven angel children, consisting of Amelia, Christopher, Megara, Giulia, Simon, James, and Arthur, from being captured and enslaved by Lucifer's army. Unfortunately, shortly after saving them, Millicent and the seven angels were among the many who were dragged into Purgatory when Forti opened the gateway to the dimension in order to imprison Satan and the Army of Darkness. Despite being trapped in Purgatory with seemingly no hope of escape, Millicent swore to protect the children, and nurtured them throughout the millennia.

Billions of years later, Millicent encountered Charlie Magne, Alastor, Niffty, Manco, and Razzle and Dazzle, all of whom had also become trapped in Purgatory. Millicent agreed to help Charlie and her crew after they gained her trust, and formed a strong bond with Charlie herself. Unfortunately, while assisting Charlie in traveling to Satan's domain to find Alastor, Millicent was murdered by Satan, who used Forti as a puppet to do so. Her death left a profound impact on the hotel crew, especially on the seven children she protected, as well as Charlie.

Biography[]

Background[]

Millicent served as a warrior angel within Heaven's celestial military force, known as the Heavenly Host, where her unwavering commitment was to preserve peace. Yet, the course of her existence took a profound turn when the malevolent forces of Lucifer and Satan launched an assault upon the heavenly realm. Millicent, alongside her comrades, valiantly took up arms on the front lines, striving to repel Lucifer's dark forces while ensuring the safety of innocent bystanders.

Amidst the chaos, Millicent was confronted with a heart-wrenching revelation: some of her fellow soldiers had succumbed to Lucifer's corrupting influence, aligning themselves with the fallen angel. She made desperate attempts to bring them back into the light, but they had been irrevocably ensnared by Lucifer's sway, issuing a dire ultimatum for her to join their treacherous cause or face death. Bound by her unwavering loyalty to Heaven, Millicent defiantly adopted a defensive stance as her former friends advanced menacingly upon her. Regrettably, she was compelled to vanquish each one, her heart heavy with sorrow as they fell by her hand, leaving her kneeling amidst a sea of their blood.

With her garb stained in the blood of her erstwhile comrades, Millicent's eyes discerned a group of seven children, cruelly shackled and being led away by Lucifer's malevolent disciples. Clenching her sword with determination, she liberated the children, leading them away from the macabre battleground. Fully aware that she could not confront Lucifer's overwhelming forces single-handedly, Millicent continued to flee with the children, racing through the blood-soaked and war-torn expanse of Heaven while the fallen angels relentlessly pursued them. Temporarily evading their relentless pursuit, she sought refuge beneath the wreckage with the terrified children.

As she comforted the young, traumatized angels amidst the tumult of the escalating conflict between Lucifer and Satan, Millicent made an unbreakable vow to protect them at any cost. Tragically, Millicent and the seven angels found themselves inadvertently drawn into Purgatory when Forti, in an attempt to seal Satan and the Army of Darkness, unleashed a colossal gateway to the realm.

Over the course of the ensuing billion years, Millicent relentlessly strived to escape Purgatory alongside the children, enduring countless harrowing injuries in the process. Her determination remained unwavering, even in the face of insurmountable odds, as she pressed on with her unwavering commitment to reunite with the realm she once called home.

Chapter 3[]

In the Chapter 3 premiere "Stranded", Amidst the perilous realm of Purgatory, Millicent's valiant form emerged from the shadows just in time to rescue a young saint named Manco from the clutches of menacing Purgatory creatures known as Agori. Initially gripped by fear, Manco's trembling heart gradually found solace as Millicent's soothing presence enveloped him. The enigmatic cloak that concealed her visage gave way to a gentle revelation of her identity, easing Manco's anxiety. In this fragile moment of newfound trust, Manco confided in Millicent, revealing that he was well-versed in the lore of Heaven's warrior angels who had been lost during the cataclysmic War in Heaven. His caretakers in Heaven had imparted these stories, weaving tales of valor and sacrifice.

As they stood together in this desolate realm, another figure emerged, a woman named Charlie, whose awe was unmistakable as she gazed upon Millicent's ethereal beauty. In her presence, the terrors of Purgatory seemed to fade into insignificance, and a flicker of hope ignited within him. Millicent, radiating both grace and strength, extended her benevolent invitation to both Manco and Charlie, welcoming them to her sanctuary in Purgatory. With gratitude and relief, they accepted her offer, for Millicent was the first benevolent presence they had encountered in weeks, a stark contrast to the malevolent entities that had relentlessly pursued them.

Guiding them through the eerie, decaying remains of a colossal creature that served as her makeshift home, Millicent unveiled her true role in this haunting realm. She was not alone; she was the devoted caretaker of a group of seven angel children: Amelia, James, Megara, Arthur, Giulia, Simon, and Christopher. Here, amidst the decay and shadows of Purgatory, they found an unexpected haven and a protector who was as much a guardian of their hope as she was a defender against the terrors that lurked in the darkness. Together, their unlikely bond would become a beacon of resilience and strength amidst the relentless chaos of their purgatorial existence.

As the first rays of dawn pierced through the eerie Purgatory landscape, Millicent and Charlie found a moment of respite from the relentless darkness. They decided to indulge in some much-needed light-hearted bonding. Millicent took on the role of mentor, teaching Charlie the unique art of hunting and providing for her young charges in this desolate realm. Together, they traversed the haunting lands, Millicent imparting her wisdom and experience to her newfound companion. Their adventure, however, took a perilous turn when they stumbled upon a treacherous geyser that spewed forth poisonous gas into the air. The noxious fumes quickly enveloped them, leaving both Millicent and Charlie gasping for breath, their vision blurred, and limbs weakened. In a desperate bid for survival, Millicent swiftly crafted makeshift face masks, shielding them from the deadly gas. With her waning strength, she managed to fly Charlie's unconscious body to safety, away from the toxic plumes. Millicent gently roused Charlie from her unconscious state, her voice carrying a hint of playful affection as she dubbed her "Sleeping Beauty." Chuckling softly, Millicent declared that they had endured enough hunting for the day, their shared ordeal only strengthening the bond between them.

Meanwhile, the presence of the Happy Hotel crew initially struck fear into the hearts of the seven angel children. To them, these beings were demons, a stark contrast to the tales of Heaven they had grown up with. Consequently, the angels kept their distance, wary of these unexpected visitors. However, with the passage of a few days and a series of courageous acts from the Happy Hotel crew, including a daring rescue from a flock of menacing Agori, the children's apprehension gradually transformed into cautious curiosity. Slowly but surely, trust began to bloom between the young angels and their unlikely saviors. Gathered around a campfire one evening, Charlie broached the subject of their past, inquiring about how they had come to be trapped in the purgatorial abyss. Initially hesitant, the children shared furtive glances, unsure of whether to reveal their painful history. Finally, it was Amelia who found the courage to step forward, her voice steady as she began to recount their heartbreaking tale—a tale that revolved around the devastating War in Heaven.

Upon hearing the heartbreaking story of the seven angel children and their plight in Purgatory, Charlie was deeply moved. With unwavering determination and a heart brimming with compassion, she pledged to aid Millicent and the young angels in their quest to escape this nightmarish realm. Her intentions were pure, fueled by the desire to offer salvation to those who had been wrongfully cast into this purgatorial abyss. However, Millicent's initial response was confrontational. She was fiercely protective of the seven angels under her care, unwilling to expose them to any further harm. She confronted Charlie, Alastor, and Niffty with a stern warning, emphasizing her unwavering commitment to the children's safety. She declared that if any harm befell the young angels, she would hold the trio responsible, delivering a grim ultimatum that sent a shiver down their spines. In a surprising twist, Millicent then flashed a playful grin, insisting that she was merely jesting, leaving the Happy Hotel crew utterly taken aback. The following day, the group embarked on their quest to escape Purgatory, now united by a common purpose. Millicent reluctantly agreed to join forces with Charlie and her team after some persuasion from the resilient angel children themselves. With Millicent and the seven angels in tow, their journey took on new hope and determination as they ventured deeper into the ominous abyss of Purgatory, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

In "Survival", Millicent and company are high atop a rugged mountain in the desolate expanse of Purgatory, As they went about their task, Millicent continues to show her familiarity with Purgatory, showing Charlie was is and isn't edible. Niffty insists a tasty looking grab is edible, but when she eats it, her face swells to such a level that Millicent has to carry her. As the adults are busy, Manco and the seven angels seized a moment of levity in the midst of their harrowing journey. They engaged in a playful game of catch, utilizing a rock as their makeshift ball, their laughter momentarily piercing the grim surroundings. However, their carefree moment was shattered when Manco stumbles upon a grisly tableau of horror: the mutilated remains of a herd of giant lizard-like creatures, their lifeless bodies torn asunder. The rest of the crew quickly gathered around, their eyes widening in shock as they beheld the gruesome sight.

The investigation was abruptly interrupted when the deceased and Satan-possessed alternate counterparts of Manco emerged from the carnage, still in the midst of their gruesome feast, organs clutched in their bloodied hands. A wave of terror washed over the crew as they found themselves under attack, their foes emerging from the very corpses they had desecrated. Manco, confronted with the horrifying sight of his doppelgängers, felt a surge of dread unlike any other. Panic set in as the crew was suddenly pursued by the relentless army of deceased Manco counterparts, who clawed their way out of the lizard carcasses with grotesque determination. The chase was relentless and terrifying, with the monstrous Manco counterparts using their wings to fly and snatch at their living counterpart. In a crucial moment, Razzle and Dazzle exhibited remarkable heroism, swooping in to rescue Manco from the clutches of his undead doppelgängers. Desperation fueled their escape, and the crew raced through the labyrinthine cave system nearby, their pursuers hot on their heels. The intense chase reached a climax when Millicent, through cunning and teamwork, used her sword to send the relentless Manco army tumbling down into a deep ravine by destroying the ground below them, their anguished cries fading into the distance. Though the threat appeared vanquished, the crew remained vigilant, for they knew that Purgatory held even darker secrets and challenges yet to be unveiled.

In "The Fading Light", Vaggie and her crew fall into their clutches, subjected to psychological torment that reverberated throughout the desolate realm. Satan projected Vaggie's anguished screams, echoing them far and wide, in a sinister bid to draw Charlie into their clutches. The pained cries reached Charlie and Millicent, and panic surged within her. She recognized Vaggie's voice and understood the dire straits her allies were in. Desperation drove her to seek Millicent's aid, imploring her to help rescue their captured friends. Millicent, empathizing with Charlie's anguish, consented to assist her in this perilous mission. With a heavy heart, she instructed the seven angel children to remain hidden and safe until their return. Charlie also entrusted Manco with the protection of the young angels, who vowed to keep them out of harm's way. Millicent, Charlie, and Alastor found themselves enveloped in a luminous, energy-generated capsule, a vessel forged from Millicent's celestial power. It propelled them into the unforgiving darkness of Purgatory, hurtling toward the source of the agonizing screams.

Upon their arrival at the nightmarish location, Alastor immediately clashed with Vox, one of the VVV Overlords. As Vox gained the upper hand over Alastor, poised to deliver a final blow, Millicent and Charlie intervened, knocking Vox aside. Yet, the confrontation escalated as Lucifer himself entered the fray. Millicent was furious upon seeing Lucifer, ready to make him pay for his crimes against Heaven. However, the archangel swiftly overpowered Millicent by hitting her with a wave of magic that put her to sleep. Millicent was carried into Baxter's ship when the scientist came to the crew's rescue, and was warmly greeted by the seven angels, who were relieved she was okay.

In "Into the Darkness", Millicent and the hotel crew continue bonding while stranded on a planet, waiting for Baxter to finish fixing his ship after an assault from Vox. During a tender moment of bonding, Millicent sits beside Vaggie, who has Megara nestled comfortably on her chest. Millicent playfully remarks that Megara seems to have taken a liking to Vaggie. Vaggie chuckles softly and shares a heartfelt reflection about her own sisters, how they used to find comfort in one another during moments of fear and uncertainty. Her voice trembles as she admits that she became more of a parent figure to them than their biological father ever was. Millicent, with a deep sense of understanding, acknowledges Vaggie's good-hearted nature and expresses curiosity about how she ended up in Hell. Tears well up in Vaggie's eyes as she hints at the painful circumstances that led her to this infernal realm. Millicent, while reflecting on her own experiences in Purgatory, observes that her children find happiness despite the challenges they face, and she wishes she could have provided the same happiness to Vaggie's family. Vaggie smiles warmly at Millicent, a tear tracing its path down her cheek, as their connection deepens through shared empathy and understanding.

In "Everything Changes",Following Alastor's confrontation with Satan and his subsequent disappearance, Charlie formulates a plan to locate him. As she stealthily navigates the ship's corridor, attempting to avoid the notice of the crew, Millicent suddenly appears, playfully startling Charlie with an unexpected "ooga booga." Millicent reveals her intention to accompany Charlie in her quest, despite Charlie's initial protestations. Millicent firmly believes that Satan's power surpasses their capabilities, and she hopes to increase their chances of survival by joining the princess.

While Charlie tries to argue against it, Millicent admires Charlie's courage and loyalty to Alastor. Understanding that she cannot dissuade Millicent, Charlie and the warrior angel embark on their mission, departing the ship without the crew's knowledge and landing on a motionless asteroid in the vastness of space. With uncertainty looming, Charlie seeks Millicent's guidance, prompting Millicent to suggest waiting, certain that Satan will eventually track them down.

While awaiting Satan's arrival, Millicent and Charlie have a heartfelt conversation; Millicent senses that something is troubling Charlie and gently inquires about it. Charlie opens up about her feelings of responsibility and guilt, believing that many of the hardships they've faced, including Vaggie's ordeal, were a result of her actions in starting the Happy Hotel. She expresses her concern for her friends, who are constantly in danger, and the tragedy of Ren's death weighs heavily on her. Charlie questions whether her efforts to reform demons are causing more harm than good. Millicent reassures Charlie, emphasizing that her compassionate nature is a virtue. She highlights that Charlie's mission gives souls a chance at redemption and stems from the goodness within her. Charlie, on the verge of tears, voices her fear of never escaping their predicament. Millicent offers words of wisdom, reminding Charlie that life is marked by change beyond our control. She encourages Charlie to trust herself, make her own decisions, and adapt to whatever challenges come their way. Millicent emphasizes the importance of recognizing those who stand by her and assures Charlie that they will find a way out of their dire situation. Touched by Millicent's words, Charlie slowly smiles, nodding in agreement. She acknowledges her determination to keep trying and, with newfound hope, embraces the belief that they will overcome their trials together. Millicent's support strengthens their bond, offering a glimmer of optimism amid the darkness that surrounds them.

The heartwarming moment is stripped away when suddenly, Charlie is overcome by intense pain as Satan's telekinetic voice reaches her. The Devil expresses gratitude for what it perceives as Charlie's decision to embrace darkness. Despite Charlie's plea for Alastor's return, Satan demands that she personally venture to its domain to retrieve him. At that moment, a portal resembling a black hole emerges beneath Charlie and Millicent, drawing them into a swirling wormhole. Descending deeper into this ominous vortex, they eventually reach a lightless dimension where Millicent's sword provides the only illumination.

Calling out for Satan, they finally summon the Devil, who welcomes Charlie to its domain while disaparging Millicent as "vermin". Satan seemingly offers comfort, claiming to have summoned her to guide her through Purgatory. Millicent challenges Satan, blaming it for Purgatory's dire state and mocking its reluctance to reveal its true form. Satan, however, claims it has transcended the need for a physical presence. When Charlie demands Alastor's return, Satan proposes a deal, offering to reunite them if Charlie serves its goals. It accuses Charlie of losing sight of her role as the Princess of Hell, alleging that she has been misled by Forti and God, who it portrays as enemies seeking the annihilation of all demonkind. Millicent vehemently defends Forti's benevolence, prompting Satan to scorn her as a "foolish angel." Satan then paints God as a genocidal tyrant, showing Charlie visions of Exterminators massacring Hell's inhabitants annually. Millicent advises Charlie to resist the Devil's manipulation, but Satan insists that it possesses knowledge about Heaven beyond Millicent's comprehension. Challenged to prove its claims, Satan declares that all are blind until their eyes are opened, before implanting a vision into Millicent and Charlie's minds, revealing that it was one of the Light Beyond the Stars that existed in the beginning of Creation, and rebelled against God.

As Satan's origins are revealed, it attempts to sway Charlie to its side, but she firmly refuses to listen. Enraged, Satan tries to destroy Charlie, but Millicent swiftly intervenes, flying her to safety. Determined not to let them escape alive, Satan summons a horde of demonic creatures to block their way. Millicent valiantly fights through the horde with her sword and shield, with Charlie offering assistance. Despite their efforts, they are unable to find an exit and become surrounded by an entire army of Satan's creations. Standing together, they prepare to defend themselves.

In a sudden flash of light, the entire army is vaporized by a blinding yellow energy, revealing Forti, who has come to their aid. Satan summons more creatures, prompting Forti to urge Charlie and Millicent to find an escape while he stays behind to buy them time. As Charlie and Millicent search for an exit, Satan unleashes a rain of pink, crystallized spikes upon them. Millicent swiftly grabs Charlie, shielding them both with her golden shield. Millicent warns Charlie to avoid making contact with the wicked spikes at all costs. Forti finishes dispatching Satan's forces and flies to confront the Devil personally. He fires an energy blast at Satan, but it has no effect. Satan rebounds the explosion back at Forti, Charlie, and Millicent, knocking them down. As Charlie struggles to rise, Satan targets her with a poisonous spike. Forti flies in to shield her, taking the hit in his upper arm. The poison courses through him as Millicent and Charlie react in dread.

Millicent, angered and horrified, unsheathes her sword and charges at Satan, but an unseen force stops her, which is revealed to be Forti. Controlled by Satan through the poison, Forti attacks Millicent against his will. Millicent, initially holding her own, eventually has her sword and shield shattered by Forti, who then pins her down by the throat. Charlie attempts to intervene, but Satan immobilizes her with an oil-like substance, forcing her to watch. Millicent struggles to free herself as Satan compels Forti to raise his sword towards her chest. Forti pleads for Satan to stop, but the Devil forces him to plunge the sword into Millicent's chest. Charlie watches in horror and sadness as Millicent bleeds out brutally, and succumbs to her injuries.

In a cruel twist, Satan weakens its hold over Forti so he could feel what it was like to kill her. Forti quickly grabs Charlie and flies her out of Satan's domain at high speed. He brings Charlie back to Baxter's ship, holding Millicent's lifeless body in his arms, confirming her death to the devastated crew. The seven angels, especially those Millicent guarded, fall to the ground in tears, mourning the loss of their guardian and mother figure. Hours later, the crew grapples with the aftermath of Millicent's death, with the seven angels remain inconsolable, crying together while cradling Millicent's helmet.

Later, Charlie finds Forti destroying the sword that killed Millicent in a fit of rage. She comforts him, assuring him that she doesn't blame him for Millicent's death, understanding that he couldn't control himself. Forti, however, calmly acknowledges that he still caused her death, whether controlled or not. He confides in Charlie that he is a danger to everyone and doesn't have long before the poison completely corrupts him. Forti tells Charlie that he is going somewhere far away and instructs her to protect Heaven's Light, Manco, and the seven angels from Satan and Lucifer at all costs. Charlie promises to protect them with her life as Forti spreads his wings, holding Millicent's corpse, and flies off into deep space to an unknown destination.

Personality[]

Millicent embodied the qualities of exemplar loyalty, unwavering protection, and profound wisdom. Her profound love for Heaven and its inhabitants knew no bounds, and she was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to safeguard the sacred realm and the entire Universe. Trained as a warrior angel, Millicent was fearless in confronting formidable threats and was ready to engage even the most formidable adversaries to protect Heaven and her loved ones. During the War in Heaven, Millicent demonstrated her exceptional resolve by facing eight other warrior angels who had sided with Lucifer. Despite the grim circumstances, she exhibited compassion by offering her fallen comrades a chance to reconsider their choices and free the seven angels. Millicent carried the weight of remorse for having to combat her fellow warriors, even though they had aligned themselves with Lucifer in the conflict.

Her selflessness shone brightly during the war as she shielded numerous innocent civilians and guided them to safety, willingly placing herself in peril to ensure the safety of the angels and saints of Heaven. Her unwavering loyalty to her superiors was evident when she fiercely defended Forti against Satan's accusations of intending to bring about the demise of demonkind. Even when Forti fell under Satan's influence due to poison and was compelled to confront her, Millicent refrained from attacking him. Instead, she prioritized self-defense while urging Forti to overcome the poison from within, although, tragically, his efforts proved futile.

Millicent, despite her role as a warrior angel, found her true comfort in leading a peaceful life and held a deep aversion to war and taking lives. However, her love for her home and her unwavering commitment to protecting it compelled her to take up arms against threats, ensuring that other angels could experience the same peace she cherished. In addition to her serious side, Millicent possessed a down-to-earth and playful demeanor that often came to the forefront. She used light-hearted expressions like "awesome sauce," affectionately bestowed nicknames upon people, and enjoyed playfully surprising others, as evidenced by her jump-scare antics with Charlie. This playful aspect of her personality added depth and warmth to her character, making her a beloved and relatable figure among her peers.

Millicent's love for the seven angels she had liberated and subsequently protected in Purgatory was profound and akin to a maternal bond. She held an unwavering commitment to their safety and was prepared to lay down her life for them, having sworn to protect them after their caretakers were tragically murdered by Lucifer and his followers. Her interactions with the children revealed a tender and motherly side of her character. Although she could initially be cautious around new acquaintances, she displayed nothing but warmth and care toward the seven angels. Millicent's nurturing instincts guided her actions, and she prioritized their well-being above all else. While Millicent didn't hesitate to hunt and gather resources from Purgatory's wildlife to ensure their survival, she drew a firm line when it came to teaching the children how to kill or training them in combat. She held a steadfast belief in preserving the innocence of these young angels, especially considering the horrors they had witnessed during the War in Heaven. This stance reflected her dedication to shielding them from further trauma and violence, even in the challenging environment of Purgatory.

Exceptionally warmhearted, she was even capable of forming friendships with demons, as she grew a friendship with the hotel crew after rescuing them from one of Purgatory's hostile creatures, forming a strong bond with Charlie in particular, encouraging the princess to hold onto her allies and never give up on her dreams of a better Hell. Over time, she grew to be very protective of the Princess of Hell; she insisted that she join Charlie on her mission of saving Alastor from Satan's domain, and defended the princess numerous times during their journey. When Satan lied to Charlie that Forti was evil and desired the deaths of all demons, Millicent (metaphorically acting as the angel on Charlie's shoulder) urged the princess multiple times to not fall to Satan's corruptive nature, and warned her not to listen to anything the Devil said. Millicent was also very supportive, comforting Vaggie over her tragic life, and supported Charlie during her moments of self-doubt.

While Millicent was typically known for her gentle and nurturing nature, there were rare moments when she displayed a fiercer side of her. These instances were triggered by injustices and false accusations, particularly when the well-being of her fellow angels and innocent beings was at stake. She threatened Fergus with her sword when he brandished a knife at Simon, seemingly ready to kill him for threatening one of her children who she vowed to protect. When Satan falsely accused Forti of harboring intentions to bring about the deaths of all demons, Millicent's anger flared. She vehemently called out the Devil for its baseless accusations, defending her comrade against the wrongful blame and passionately asserting the truth. Moreover, when Satan later extended its false accusations to angels in general, including Millicent herself, and accused them of wanting to eradicate all demons, Millicent's fury was palpable. She gripped her sword tightly, barely restraining herself from launching an immediate attack on Satan for its deceitful allegations. These moments showcased her unwavering dedication to justice and her readiness to defend her own kind against falsehoods and unfounded accusations.

Appearance[]

Millicent had an ethereal and slender humanoid appearance, characteristic of angels. Her pure white skin provided a luminous and celestial quality to her presence. Her long white hair cascaded gracefully, draping down the right side of her head, often concealing her right eye with its flowing bangs. Her eyes featured brown irises, and beneath each eye, she bore small freckles, adding a touch of charm to her countenance.

A thin, radiant halo hovered above her head, a symbol of her angelic nature. Her attire consisted of a white off-the-shoulder dress adorned with starry designs on the skirt, accented by a red band cinched around her waist. Completing her ensemble were white flats, which complemented her overall celestial appearance.

As a warrior angel, Millicent possessed two majestic wings that granted her the ability to take flight. She had the capability to retract her wings, concealing them within her form, allowing her to assume a more human-like appearance. This ability allowed her to blend in among humans or remain unnoticed when necessary.

Powers and Abilities[]

Natural Powers[]

  • Angelic Power: As a warrior angel, Millicent possessed an above-average amount of holy power. Her nature granted her an assorted number of powers and enabled her to destroy dark creatures or demons with relative ease, as demonstrated by her slaying hundreds of creatures belonging to the Army of Darkness in quick succession, and helping Forti to fight and nearly destroy the King of Gluttony, Beelzebub.
    • Cloudwalking: Millicent could use clouds as a method of traveling, and could walk on them as if they were a solid surface.
    • Creation: As a highly trained angel, Millicent was effective at using creation magic to spawn her own weapons of angelic properties.
      • Weapon Manifestation: Millicent could manifest her own holy weaponry, from a large sword, shield, spear, bow, and a seemingly limitless number of arrows. As a result of this, she effectively never had to worry about losing her weaponry.
    • Flight: Millicent possessed two wings which granted her the ability to fly through the air at high speeds, as well as to descend with enough impact to cause a small shockwave. Her wings could retract back into her when they are not in use.
    • Immortality: Millicent possessed a potentially infinite lifespan which allowed her to live for over a billion years. She stilled maintained a very youthful appearance, was invincible to age or mortal ailments, and her age did not hinder her ability to fight whatsoever. Millicent also did not require oxygen to live, as she was capable of withstanding Purgatory's spacescape with no signs of discomfort.
      • Nigh-Invulnerability: Millicent possessed invulnerability to most forms of damage. During her time in the treacherous land of Purgatory, she sustained very little injuries despite being constantly under siege by Purgatory's volatile lifeforms. However, Millicent could still be injured or killed by weapons of angelic properties, as seen when she bled when one of Lucifer's soldiers struck her above the eye with his knife. She was also still susceptible to injury and pain when struck by holy weapons, as she showed visible agony when Satan forced Forti to plunge his sword into her chest, appeared to choke on her own blood, and ultimately succumbed to her wounds shortly after.
      • Regeneration: Despite her angelic physiology granting her resistance to nearly all forms of harm, Millicent could be injured like any other angel if she was struck with other holy weapons or attacked with divine power. However, her angelic nature allowed her to rapidly regenerate damaged bodily tissue with significantly more speed and efficiency than any human being is capable of, as she was able to fully heal her injuries sustained during the War in Heaven within hours. However, Millicent's regeneration had a limit, as she was unable to heal from mortal wounds caused by holy weapons, such as archangel blades, which ultimately claimed her life.
    • Photokinesis: Millicent had a naturally strong connection with holy light, and was capable of utilizing it both defensively and offensively. Upon entering Satan's pitch black domain with Charlie, Millicent casted a bright white light from the tip of her sword that illuminated their immediate area. Later, when she was pinned to a wall by a creature from the Army of Darkness, she casted a blinding white light from the palm of her hand that melted the creature's face from its body, causing it to let go of her, which allowed her to slay it with her sword.
    • Supernatural Endurance/Stamina: As a hardened warrior angel, Millicent possessed extraordinary stamina. During the War in Heaven, Millicent fought back against Lucifer and Satan's armies for hours, and was able to keep fighting despite sustaining numerous wounds.

Unique Powers[]

  • Energy Shield Generation: Millicent could generate a white, sphere-shaped energy shield around herself or others. Said shield could be used to defend Millicent and her allies from enemy assaults, or even be used as a mode of transportation, as Millicent could manipulate the shields to allow herself and passengers within the ability to levitate and fly to other locations, as shown when Millicent transported herself, Charlie, Alastor, and Niffty in order to rescue Vaggie and her team from Satan.

Abilities[]

  • Hunting/Survival Skills: Due to having been trapped in the horrific dimension of Purgatory, Millicent learned to obtain her own food and water in order to provide to the seven angels and herself. Using her training and angelic powers, she was very proficient in the ways of hunting, cooking, and trapping. She also used her sword and arrows to kill game with extreme ease, and used her flight to give herself an advantage over what remained of Purgatory's wildlife.
  • Master Archer: Millicent possessed exceptional skills in archery. While conversing with Charlie, she shot a bat-like creature out of the sky while not even looking at it, and later, when attempting to escape from Satan's domain with Charlie, she unleashed a hail of arrows in rapid succession that took down dozens of Satan's creations.
  • Master Combatant: Having been trained to defend Heaven from external threats, Millicent is a very strong and skilled fighter. She was notable more skilled than most angelic warriors such as herself, as during the War in Heaven, she fought and killed eight other soldiers belonging to Lucifer's army with moderate difficulty while freeing the seven angels from their clutches, and had likely slain even more while defending Heaven's grounds moments earlier. She was also easily capable of killing many of the gargantuan entities within Purgatory while surviving, and overwhelmed Beelzebub in combat while fighting him with Forti. However, she was effortlessly dispatched by Lucifer while confronting him with Charlie. She also fought off several members of the Army of Darkness when attempting to escape from Satan's domain, and when the Devil poisoned Forti and controlled him to fight Millicent, she was still able to keep Forti at bay by defending herself with her sword, countering most of Forti's furious strikes, and was only bested and physically overpowered after Forti's sword had shattered her own.
  • Weapon Mastery: As a warrior angel with exceptional training, Millicent was trained to utilize most weapons with more skill and efficiency than most, wielding arrows, swords, and shields with efficiency.

Weapons[]

  • Arrows: Millicent possessed a seemingly limitless number of holy arrows thanks to her creation magic. She was extremely skilled with a bow and arrow, launching dozens of arrows in quick succession while defending herself and Charlie from the Army of Darkness.
  • Shield: During her years of defending Heaven, Millicent used a holy shield that she used to protect herself from ranged or close-ranged attacks. She could also use the shield as a weapon by striking her opponents at close-range. Although she lost her first shield after being dragged into Purgatory, Millicent could still use creation magic to forge entirely new shields from scratch.
  • Sword: Millicent's most valuable and preferred weapon was a large, extremely sharp, holy greatsword that was almost as tall as herself. She used her sword with deadly efficiency, with it allowing her to easily injure, dismember, or slay her victims. She could also use her sword to cast magic, such as projecting a small ball of light that illuminated her area. Her sword was destroyed when Forti, under the influence of Satan, used his archangelic sword to strike Millicent's blade with enough force to shatter it.

Relationships[]

Family[]

The seven angels[]

Millicent first met Amelia, Megara, Arthur, Simon, James, Giulia, and Christopher after Lucifer's fallen army had murdered their friends and caretakers before enslaving them. Spotting the children being led away in chains, Millicent came to their rescue, giving Lucifer's soldiers and her former teammates a chance to free the children and leave. When they refused to let the children go and instead attacked Millicent for opposing Lucifer, she reluctantly slayed them, freeing the children and leading them away from the carnage. Millicent then took cover underneath a wreckage with the children to temporarily elude Lucifer's army. As the battle escalated the chaos around them and the children began crying in fear, traumatized by having seen everyone they loved being slaughtered and their homes decimated, Millicent tenderly brought them all in for a comforting hug, shielding them using her wings, and from that moment swore to protect them with her life. Shortly afterward, Millicent and the children were inadvertently dragged into Purgatory and stranded on a dead planet. Throughout the next billion years, Millicent continued protecting and providing for the children, growing a strong bond with them.

By the time the hotel crew met Millicent and the children, it was clear that they deeply trusted and loved each other, and the children considered her to be their caretaker. She affectionately referred to them as her "loves", gave Christopher a kiss on the forehead for bringing her an item, wrapped her wings around Amelia to shield her from the cold, and Amelia had very much taken after Millicent, imitating her maternal behavior by acting as the head of the seven angels. Millicent noted to Charlie that she never taught the children how to hunt or kill, as she believed that they should never again witness bloodshed after being traumatized during the War in Heaven.

When Millicent was murdered by Satan, the children were utterly devastated by her death and were all show crying while clutching unto her helmet. During Millicent's funeral, a near-to-tears Amelia delivered a touching eulogy thanking Millicent for protecting them, and told Millicent that she could finally rest, and that the hotel crew were going to look after them and make sure they got back to Heaven.

Allies[]

Forti[]

As the original defender of Heaven, Forti was Millicent's leader as with all warrior angels. She was extremely loyal to Forti, expressing her devotion for him saving the Universe from destruction, and not holding any resentment towards him despite him indirectly being the reason why she and the seven angel children became trapped in Purgatory. When Satan accused Forti of desiring the death of demonkind, Millicent aggressively protested against the Devil's claims, clearly offended by Satan's accusations. After Forti was poisoned by Satan and being used as a puppet against Millicent, she implored Forti to fight back against the corruption, but her pleas were in vain as Satan forced Forti to overpower and brutally kill her.

Charlie Magne[]

Millicent and Charlie quickly became allies after the angel rescued Charlie, Manco, Alastor, and Niffty from one of Purgatory's many vicious creatures. She was very hospitable towards the princess and her allies, inviting them in her make-shift home in Purgatory, and teaching Charlie how she survived in Purgatory by hunting wildlife. Millicent admired Charlie for her bubbly nature and belief that the sinners of her kingdom could be redeemed, noting that she was more profound than most demons in Hell for believing such as thing.

When Charlie attempted to stealthily leave the hotel crew so that she could rescue Alastor from Satan alone, Millicent was wise to the princess' plan and joined Charlie on her mission. While the two waited on an asteroid, Charlie confessed to Millicent that she was not sure if escaping Purgatory was possible and also confessed that she was not completely sure if redemption was possible. Millicent comforted the princess by telling her to stay close to the allies she has gained through the Hazbin Hotel and that she believed in her.

When the two confronted Satan together to rescue Alastor, Millicent displayed her protectiveness over Charlie, keeping the princess close to her as they wandered through the darkness of Satan's domain, and defensively standing in front of her when the Devil appeared before them. When Satan attempted to manipulate Charlie by telling her that Forti was evil, Millicent told Charlie to not listen to anything the Devil had to say. After Charlie refused to join Satan's crusade and the Devil sent its underlings to kill her, Millicent viciously defended the princess from the onslaught, even jumping in front of creature who attempted to attack Charlie from behind, and using her shield to defend them both from the poisonous spikes the Devil had sent to them.

Following Millicent's death at the hands of Satan, Charlie was left utterly distraught and with a feeling that she was responsible for Millicent's death, and was shown crying heavily during the angel's funeral. She even suffered horrific nightmares of Millicent's death with her holding the sword that killed the angel, while Millicent's corpse cursed her for causing her death. However, Charlie was able to eventually rationalize that Millicent would not have blamed her for her death.

Vaggie[]

Despite their limited interactions, Millicent left a profound impact on Vaggie as a result of her kindness, and it was clear that Millicent cared for Vaggie's well-being, promptly leaving with Charlie and Alastor to rescue Vaggie when she was being mentally tortured by Satan. When Vaggie was recovering from this traumatic experience on Baxter's spaceship, Millicent approached Vaggie when Megara was sleeping on the sinner's chest. Millicent noted Megara's liking to Vaggie, to which the sinner said that Megara reminded her of her sisters she had while alive on Earth. Millicent comforted Vaggie on the sexual abuse she and her sisters endured at the hands of her father, having witnessed her anguish when Satan psychologically tortured her. Vaggie was driven to tears and hugged Millicent in response.

When Millicent was murdered by Satan, Vaggie was visibly devastated and hurt, and took it upon herself to care for the seven angels and become their new guardian and caretaker to honor Millicent.

Quotes[]

Chapter 3[]

"Manco: (cowering) P- Please don't hurt me, please!
Millicent: Hey! (she dissipates her sword and removes her hood) Shh, shh, shh... There, there. I'm not going to hurt you...
Manco: (he opens his eyes and gasps) Are- Are you an angel? In Purgatory?!
Millicent: (she smiles warmly) Of course I am, little one. (she kneels to his level) My name is Millicent. What's your name, love?
Manco: I'm... I'm Manco. Wait a minute... You're Millicent?!
Millicent: You know of my name?
Manco: My caretakers taught me about the war, about all the angels who were lost. We thought you were dead...
Millicent: Eh, figures. (she licks her thumb and tenderly wipes dirt off of his face) You're much too young to be out here. Are you alone?
Charlie: (distantly) Manco?!
Manco: (to Charlie) Over here! (he quickly flies over to her, hugging her)
Charlie: (to Manco) Are you hurt?!
Manco: No, no, no, I'm fine. (he points to Millicent) But, look...
Charlie: (she stares at Millicent, eyes widening) Yowza wowza... (Millicent smiles and waves at Charlie, who awkwardly waves back while mindlessly staring at her)
Millicent: Oh! Silly me! Introductions. I am Millicent. Your name is... Charlie?
Charlie: Y- Yes, that's right... Uh, how do you know my name?
Millicent: Your name tag, silly billy!
Charlie: Oh, right! (she laughs sheepishly; whispering) That's embarrassing...
Manco: (looking at the dead creatures) What we're those things?
Millicent: They're called Agori. (she pulls her sword out of them) Vicious little nasties. Usually, I can ward them away with some bait, but I wasn't expecting company and... Ah! (waves her hand) I digress.
Manco: Oh... Right.
Millicent: How did you two get here?
Charlie: It's, uh... a LONG story.
Millicent: Ah. I apologize. This place isn't suitable for first impressions. I have a shelter over yonder. We have plenty of food, water. (to Manco; smiling) There's even seven other children there, just like you.
Manco: R- Really? (to Charlie) Charlie, can we go see it?
Charlie: (to Manco) Eh...
Millicent: It's rational to have reservations, especially in a place like this. (smiles) Whatever your choice, my door is always open. (she prepares to fly off)
Charlie: Wait! (Millicent halts and looks back at Charlie) ...Give us directions?
Manco: YES!
Charlie: I mean, you're the first thing in days that hasn't tried to viciously murder us. That's gotta account for something, right?
Millicent: (chuckles lightly) Right.
Charlie: Before we go, do you mind if we grab our friends, Razzle, Dazzle, and Alastor?
Millicent: The more the merrier. Just keep an eye out for any more Agori.
"
— Millicent meets Charlie and Manco.
"A sword can only get you so far in a weary world. The will to protect the ones you love, that is the strongest weapon of all."
— Millicent to Charlie.
"Millicent: Hush, little ones... (she pulls all of the terrified angel children close to her) Shhh, shhh, shhh... You're safe in my arms. (she gently caresses Amelia's face and looks at all the children as the war rages around them) I swear to the Lord, until there is no breath left in me, no one will ever harm any of you again.
Amelia: (panicking) We- We all tried to hide. I tried so hard! But... (breaks down crying into her hands) Not all of us made it...
Millicent: (realization hits) ...I'm so sorry. ...Just- Just don't think on it, okay, love? (she brings them all together, shielding them using with her wings) We'll be okay... I promise...
"
— Millicent swears to protect the seven angels while hiding with them during the War in Heaven.
"Fergus: 'ow many kids ye got in 'ere? Ye be runnin' a daycare in 'ere?
Millicent: (laughs softly) I guess you could say that.
Simon: (flying over to Fergus) Oooh! Shiny robot arm!
Fergus: (stops Simon in his tracks by holding a knife to his face) Stay aft, sugar-filled strumpet, or I will blast that there cute right off yer mug!!
Millicent: (she uses her sword to sever Fergus' knife in half at the hilt with pin-point accuracy, before raising her sword to his neck with a burning glare as he stares at her nervously) I made a vow to the Lord that if anyone hurt my children, I would bring the rage of the Heavens upon their assailant. I trust that neither of us want that?
Fergus: N- n- no, lass. No, no! We certainly don't. Believe me! I may not look it, but I be privy to angels a- an' their vows to the Lord, an' it be not somethin' to trifle with.
Millicent: So, for clarity, you will not harm them?
Fergus: (nervously) Harm 'em?! (blows a raspberry) No, c'mon, Millicent, I was just... Playin' a joke! I wasn't going to actually... (Millicent continues glaring intensely at him; Fergus looks down at Simon behind Millicent, who sticks his tongue at him; he groans and drones) Yes, ma'am...
Millicent: (she puts the sword down and smiles brightly) Awesome sauce!
"
— Millicent, Fergus, and Simon.
"Millicent: (sits next to Vaggie while Megara is sleeping on the latter's chest) I think she likes you.
Vaggie: (laughs lightly) She... Your kids remind me of my sisters. That ones I had before I... (Millicent gives Vaggie an understanding look) Whenever they would get scared, we would just stick together and cuddle. (she starts tearing up) I was more of a parent to them than our... Father ever was.
Millicent: You have a very good heart, Vaggie. It is very curious, how you ended up in Hell.
Vaggie: (with tears in her eyes) Some things just... Don't work out. I tried to keep them safe, but...
Millicent: As difficult our time has been in this realm, my children are very happy. I wish I could have given that happiness to your family. (Vaggie smiles at Millicent as a tear rolls down her eye)
"
— Vaggie and Millicent's conversation while on Baxter's ship.
"Millicent: I can tell something is troubling you, Charlie? What's the matter?
Charlie: Well... It's just that... Most of this happened because of me. Us ending up here, what happened to Vaggie, all of it. I just... I feel like ever since I started the Happy Hotel, thing's haven't been very good. My friends are always in danger, and one of them, R-... Ren... He... Died. It's just, how are they supposed to reform themselves when all this is happening? I try not to give up, but... Sometimes I wonder if I'm doing more harm than good.
Millicent: You should never fault yourself for being compassionate, Charlotte. You are giving these souls a chance at redemption out of the goodness within you.
Charlie: (voice breaking) But what if we can't escape..?
Millicent: Life is full of change. I believe in you. (she holds Charlie by both of her hands) Just keep trying.
Charlie: (she slowly smiles at Millicent, nodding) I will.
"
— Charlie and Millicent's conversation while waiting for Satan's arrival on their mission to rescue Alastor.
"We are the same, Charlie. We would do anything for our children."
— Millicent to Charlie about the seven angels and Manco.
"Satan: (to Charlie) Do not be upset, my child. I am only here to guide you. Purgatory is nothing but a wasteland. Nothing desirable or anything of worth is present here. But you, for one, are from a world where there is still light, and hope.
Millicent: Purgatory is this way because of you! You can spout as many lies as you wish, but we see you for what you truly are; A cowardly monster hiding in the shadows.
Satan: (to Millicent) What an annoying, disrespectful creature you are. You've no comprehension of who I truly am. Everything that encompasses you, from the smallest speck of dirt, to the greatest stars, are merely extensions of my kind. (laughs lightly) Your grasp on reality is tenuous, but I expected nothing less from an angel.
Millicent: You're a plague, perverting all that is sacred and innocent.
"
— Satan and Millicent.

Quotes about Millicent[]

"I just wanted to say... Thank you for protecting us, loving us. We made some decorations for you. Charlie said that they looked really good on you. I... I remember whenever we were feeling sad, you'd always tell us to just be kids and have fun. We're going to try really hard to have fun again. You didn't deserve what happened to you, but at least now there's no more pain... You dedicated your life to protect us, but now you can rest. We're in good hands, I promise. We'll never forget you. Wherever you are, we love you..."
— Amelia's eulogy for Millicent.

Trivia[]

  • Her name means "gentle strength/strong".
  • Her theme song would either be "Safe and Sound" by Taylor Swift, or "Love is Alive" by Lea Michele.
  • Millicent originally had a song titled "My Sacred Vow", which detailed her loyalty to Heaven as well as her will to defend the seven angels.
  • In one draft for Chapter 3, Millicent was meant to originally have a husband and an infant daughter, with her husband being murdered by Lucifer's army, and her newborn being killed during Satan's rampage in Heaven. This was scrapped, though there still lines in the final version that strongly imply Millicent had a family who were killed in the war for her defiance.
  • In the original draft of Chapter 3, Millicent was killed by Manco's possessed variants while buying the hotel crew time to escape with the seven angels.
