"Well... I just love people! I want everyone to be full of joy and be at their best, you know? I know that there are so many people who are suffering, and never get to experience joy in life through no fault of their own, and I can't stand it! I try to do anything and everything I can to make the afterlives of everyone better. I always figured that was why dad put me at the gates of Heaven; to be the first face that souls from Earth would see, one full of love, light, and hope."
— Serenity.

Her Seraphic Highness, Princess Serenity Seraphim of Heaven is one of the three deuteragonists (alongside Angel Dust and Vaggie) in Hazbin Hotel: Journey to the Light.

She serves as the main protagonist of Chapter 5 and Chapter 5.5/Holy Hell.

She is the Head Seraph princess of the Seraphim family, the daughter of Seraphiel, and the youngest of the Seraphim sisters. Serving as Lucifer's successor as the angel of joy, she is a young, ambitious, passionate, seraph angel whose responsibility is to greet the winners of Heaven when they are reborn in Heaven and help them adjust to their afterlife, essentially making her the face of the higher angel hierarchy. Bursting with energy and boundless kindness, she personifies all of the virtues that Heaven preaches and adored all things, and does everything in her power to take on responsibilities. With ambitious goal to unite Heaven and Hell so that she could do right by her kingdom, you bet she'll be fighting for Charlie's plan.

After the Extermination's cancellation, Serenity collaborated with Saint Peter to restore Heaven and address its issues, particularly the increasing problem of unanswered human prayers. In the process, Serenity discovered that Adina was the cause of this issue, siphoning prayers from captured/tortured sinners to amplify her own power, leaving human prayers ignored. Upon uncovering Serenity's intervention, Adina used her influence to set up a kangaroo court, accusing Serenity of being a threat to Heaven and "tampering" with prayers. As a result, Serenity was swiftly banished to Purgatory and became a fallen angel.

However, she eventually escaped Purgatory and ended Adina's tyranny with the help of all of Heaven, and for this, bringing joy to Heaven for centuries, and her resilience even against seeming hopelessness, Serenity was ordained the position of Head Seraph of Heaven by both her eldest sister Sera and Queen Asherah, while the former was made the Chieftess of Justice in Adina's place.

Biography[]

Background[]

Serenity was the last born of the royal Seraphim family. Shortly after she was born, her father, Seraphiel, encountered a premonition decreeing that Serenity would somehow unite Heaven and Hell. Serenity's eldest sister, Sera, reacted to this with uncertainty, not wanting Serenity's ambitious desires to lead her down a dark path.

At some point, Serenity was given Lucifer's previous job of welcoming and providing joy to the winners of Heaven. However, while Lucifer only taught winners the "joys" that came with worshiping and praising him, Serenity taught winners the genuine joys and mirth of the afterlife, fulfilling the joy bringer role more than Lucifer ever did. Serenity was universally beloved in Heaven, much like the fallen archangel was, but not for her perceived greatness and perfection, but for her friendliness and compassion. However, Serenity was deliberately kept out of Heaven's important matters and denied the social power that Lucifer had by Sera, who feared that Serenity could end up like him one day.

Serenity was horrified was the Extermination was established, seeing nothing "heavenly" in slaughtering Hell's populace. Though she understood that it was to keep Evil at bay, Serenity championed for welcoming redeemed sinners with open arms, though this ideas repeatedly shot down by Sera. The young seraphim felt isolated in her doubts about Heaven and the cleanse, since not many in Heaven seemed opposed to the cleanse (in reality, there were many angels that opposed the cleanse, but they were either prosecuted and silenced by Adina). Therefore, with no real means of being able to stop the cleanse, Serenity had to put on a smile and keep Heaven's denizens joyful despite knowing marginally about what was happening behind the scenes, hoping to one day meet somebody who was against the cleanse as much as she was.

Chapter 5[]

In "Enter Through the Narrow Gate", Serenity excitedly awakens to another bright and sunny day in Heaven, singing her excitement about today being the annual Celebration of God, and that she's certain it is going to be perfect. She is particularly excited to finally meet God - who has been away from Heaven for quite some time - so she can prove her worth to Him, move up Heaven's ranks, and be able to help her people more efficiently and improve her kingdom in any way she can. During her song, she frolics through the Seraphim palace, passing by palace guards and her many sisters who are preparing for the celebration. She makes it outside the castle and into the streets of Halo City - which is quickly being flocked to by angels from all across Heaven for the celebration - where she is greeted by Heaven's denizens, some of whom she greets and hugs all while continuing her musical number. After her song reaches its climax, Serenity bumps into her eldest sister, Sera. Sera, not wanting Serenity to be disappointed like the previous celebrations, attempts to tell her ecstatic younger sister to keep her expectations under control since God has not publicly appeared in Heaven for centuries, but Serenity insists that today will be the day He makes his long-awaited return. After Sera talks her down, Serenity seemingly listens to her sister before flittering off.

Before she can reach her destination, Serenity hears the pearly gate's bell go off, signaling the arrival of new winners. Serenity rushes to the gate to greet the newcomers, only to see a single child. She tenderly greets the scared child, named Harp, and assures them that Heaven is a very safe and joyful place. When Harp asks the princess if any more people are coming through the gates, Serenity tells them that the number of winners has decreased massively in recent years, but assures the child that things will change. Serenity gifts the girl with a crystal tiara and tells her that she will make lots of friends in Heaven.

Serenity then flies over to the Enchanted Forest to her friend Mr. Tree, one of Heaven's many anthropomorphic trees, who happily greets the princess and magically grows a swing on his branches for her to play on. Serenity, uncertain after hearing Sera's words, spills her uncertainty onto Mr. Tree, saying that she only wants to help her people more, as well as change Heaven's laws a little so that the realm goes back to being more welcoming to souls. Mr. Tree tries to tell Serenity that she is still young and will one day be able to take responsibility, but Serenity insists that she is ready. Now melancholy, the seraphim princess breaks out into song, which prompts Heaven's anthropomorphic wildlife to spring from the woods and join her number. As the Heavenly animals follow her back into Seraphim Square, Serenity passionately sings about how she works so hard and brings much joy to Heaven, but can't find move up in the ranks. Once she reaches Seraphim Square, dozens upon dozens of Heaven's denizens join her musical number, being the chorus as she pours her heart out. At the end of the song, Serenity finds hope and decides she will not accept defeat.

Later in the day, the Celebration of God is finally underway, and Serenity actively partakes in everything the festival has to offer, including dancing with Heaven's denizens, joining in on hymns, and greeting new winners, bringing whimsy and excitement to the already remarkable celebration. During this, a young winner asks Serenity if God will finally make it to His celebration, and Serenity assures her that He will before putting a flower in the young girl's hair and sending her on her way.

Once it is time for God to finally appear, Serenity ecstatically awaits His arrival beside her sisters, going into formation with them for God's entrance. However, after moments of suspense and anticipation, the Speaker of God appears in God's place, regrettably announcing that God would not be making His long-awaited appearance, which understandably upsets nearly everyone and devastates Serenity. Thinking fast, Sera is able to briefly tame the crowd by singing a song on stage, serenading everyone with her supernatural voice. Just after Sera's performance, Azrael thunderously lands on stage to massive applause and gives a speech demanding the silence of Heaven's anti-Extermination populace.

After Azrael's speech and departure, the Celebration of God almost instantly winds down as the disheartened denizens leave and go about their day. A crestfallen Serenity is confronted by the little girl from earlier, who is upset at the princess for getting her hopes up. Serenity somberly hugs the little girl and tells her that there is always next year, with a broken smile. Left to sulk on her own, Serenity is approached by Sera, who stoically laments that Serenity did not listen to her and scolds her for getting the denizens of Heaven's hopes up for God's appearance, despite seemingly knowing but denying that He would not appear. Serenity tries to explain herself, but is nearly overcome with emotion and can only utter an apology. Sera tells her sister that she will not be ready to take responsibility until she learns discipline, and implores Serenity to learn from the recent experience, before easing up, helping her sister to her feet, and telling her that they are needed by the Speaker of God.

Hours later, Azrael meets up with the Seraphim sisters, Sera and Serenity. There, Azrael tasks Serenity with delivering new rules for winners to Saint Peter. Serenity speaks out about her concerns about the strict regulations and suggests making it easier for souls to enter Heaven. The conversation takes a turn when Serenity questions the cleanse and advocates for giving sinners a chance to repent. Azrael strongly opposes this idea, asserting his authority, while Sera supports the notion of lowering standards but dismisses the possibility of accepting sinners in her belief that there are no noble demons. The disagreement intensifies, leading to a heated exchange where Serenity criticizes the Heavenly Host's treatment of demons, and Sera accuses her of wanting to allow evil into Heaven. The argument escalates, and Serenity flies away in tears. Azrael cruelly mocks Serenity, prompting Sera to defend her sister.

Hours following the talk with Azrael, Sera, tired of Azrael twisting Heaven in his own image and refusing to let him have his way with her and Serenity, makes the decision to embark on a quest to find Heaven's Light to begin changing Heaven's ways. Before she begins her journey, Serenity pops her beside her, asking her what she is doing, startling her older sister in the process. Sera tells Serenity of her intentions, who is excited by it and asks if she can join her, determined to prove herself. Sera is conflicted at first, but allows Serenity to come along only so that she wouldn't be left in Heaven and possibly at the wrath of Azrael. Serenity exclaims in enthusiasm, excited to go on an "adventure". Before the sisters could depart, Leo Lightheart suddenly appears, having been eavesdropping on their conversation, and insists that he come along to protect them. Sera tells him that he must stay and govern Cherub Towne, but Leo makes it his personal duty to protect them, and after Serenity calls Sera out for leaving her post, she reluctantly allows him to come along.

Since all angels are spiritually connected to Heaven's Light, Sera, Leo, and Serenity begin following the essence of the Light, only for Serenity to make a quick stop to Mr. Tree. She tells Mr. Tree and the woodland creatures of Heaven that she will be away for a while and does not know when she will return, but that she finally has a chance to make Sera proud. Mr. Tree tells Serenity that he has always believed in her, to which she hugs him tightly. Serenity tells the woodland creatures of Heaven to inform her sisters that she is alright if they happen by, before departing into Heaven's skies with Sera and Leo, waving goodbye to Mr. Tree and the animals of the Enchanted Forest and bursting into song about her determination. As of that moment, Serenity, Leo, and Sera's journey to find and reclaim Heaven's Light had begun.

In "A Little Piece of Heaven", Serenity, Sera, and Leo Lightheart discover that the source of Heaven's Light is in Hell. All three of them have different reactions; Serenity is excited to explore a new location even after the stories about Hell, Sera is cautious and alert, and Leo Lightheart is scared out of her mind. Sera suggests resolving this matter diplomatically, but Leo says that if Lucifer has Heaven's Light, he has no intention of giving it back without a fight. The three angels remain determined to retrieve Heaven's Light, especially if it is in the hands of demons, and travel to Hell, entering a whole new world in which they are clearly out of their element.

The angels realize that landed in the outskirts of a destroyed town. While Sera plots out how to get to Heaven's Light, Serenity stares at the town wide-eyed, nearly crying at seeing its inhabitants' state of suffering. Sera analyzes the situation and tells Serenity that their town was raided by other demons, telling her sister that demons spread suffering and carnage even to themselves. Despite Sera's attitude towards the situation, Serenity begs her sister to let her help the demons. Sera sternly tells Serenity that they are in Hell to find Heaven's Light, not help "little demons". Sera tells Serenity that she is walking a thin line and could eventually end up like Lucifer, the fallen prince of Heaven. Serenity is offended by her sister's cold attitude and argues with her, telling Sera that their lives and years of hard work were destroyed, and she is determined to help them. Not wanting Serenity to get hurt, Sera tells her sister that the demons will take advantage of their kindness, but Serenity still flies into the town to help them, causing Sera to say "oh, fuck me..." and facepalm in annoyance.

Serenity announces in the square of the town that she's going to help them. The demons are understandably shocked to see an angel and do not respond well to her, but they are took weak and downtrodden to fight. The demons tell Serenity that their town was destroyed during Hell's great flood, and they have been preyed on by a gang of violent looters. Determined to bring a little bit of Heaven to Hell, Serenity says that she will help them rebuild. The demons ask why they should trust Serenity, an angel, to which the princess replies that she wants to create peace and would rather the demons change their destructive ways. Despite their tough and gritty exterior, the demons are touched by Serenity's innocence and kindness and begin adoring her, much to Sera's surprise.

Over the course of several days, Serenity uses her powers to help the demons rebuild their town and encourages teamwork and friendship, acting like a sort of mother figure to the demons of the town. At some point, Leo Lightheart joins Serenity in rebuilding the town's morale, while Sera remains distant. Serenity teaches the demons the joys of singing, painting, and making each other "friendship sweaters", breaking up fights and giving demons stickers for their good behavior.

This harmony is halted, however, when the gang of looters return to pillage the now prospering town once more. However, Serenity and Leo protect the town and its inhabitants, standing between the pillagers and the town and refusing to allow them to steal from the town anymore. After the looters remain unintimidated, a roar from Leo and Sera transforming into her eldritch full angel form is enough to scare them, never to return to the town. Serenity assures the demons that they are safe and teases Sera about seeing things her way, but Sera tells Serenity she was only protecting her and Leo, which Serenity still playfully teases her about.

Leo and Sera wait on the edge of the fully rebuilt town for Serenity to say goodbye to the demons. Leo confesses to Sera that demons are not quite as malevolent as they seem. Sera watches a group of demon children approach Serenity from behind with weapons, only for them to offer their weapons for Serenity to sign so they have a momento to remember her by. Serenity gently takes their weapons away and instead signs their hats and shirts before hugging them. Sera's expression softens as she ponders about what the truth really is.

Events of Holy Hell[]

In "See You in Heaven," Joe, a mundane, boring human man, dies, but is welcomed into Heaven by Saint Peter with ease. Serenity, joins in showcasing Heaven's wonders to Joe in song form, soon joined by Sera, more upbeat with the cancellation of the Extermination and removal of Heaven's excessively puritanical laws. During the number their joyous procession is interrupted by Adina, leader of the Heavenly Court. Despite Adina's cold and dismissive welcome, Serenity and Peter finish off the musical extravaganza with a crow of saints providing backup singing.

Later, Serenity discusses Heaven's issues at a sanctum with Sera, Saint Peter, and Leo Lightheart, including problems with Heaven's prayer system, with many prayers sadly going unanswered. Serenity and Peter step up vow to rectify them. In song form, Peter expresses his determination to make a difference, with Serenity supporting him. They embark on a mission to change Heaven, with Peter taking the lead while Serenity stands by him. Despite their shared endeavor, Peter's ambition shines, and they end the song reaffirming their alliance, with Serenity excitedly ready to tackle challenges with Peter leading the charge, and change all of angelkind together.

In "Livin' on A Prayer", Saint Peter flies into Serenity's room through the window of the Seraphim Palace to greet her on a beautiful, heavenly day. However, Peter is taken aback as he finds Serenity disheveled, muttering to herself, and pacing in front of a "conspiracy wall," attempting to unravel the mystery of Heaven's broken prayer system. Placing a comforting hand on Serenity's shoulder, Peter advises her to temporarily set aside her concerns about the prayer issue. He reasons that obsessing over it won't put her in a suitable state to assist him in fixing Heaven.

Peter decides to introduce Serenity to one of his favorite pastimes for relaxation: fishing. Serenity expresses her excitement, admitting she's never tried it before and anticipating a thrilling experience. Amused by her enthusiasm, Peter chuckles, explaining that while fishing is indeed calming, it's not exactly an exhilarating activity. Undeterred, they embark on a heavenly boat ride down the picturesque river of Heaven, casting their lines together and enjoying the tranquility of the moment. As they approach a waterfall, the boat gracefully sprouts angelic wings, gliding down the cascade and landing softly on the water below.

In a lighthearted moment, Serenity jokingly concedes that fishing can be dull, just before she unexpectedly reels in a fish. The magical encounter is captured by a passing photographer as the fish leaps into Serenity's arms. With a smile, Serenity plants a kiss on the fish before releasing it back into the water, eliciting a grateful response from the aquatic creature. Serenity then turns to Peter, seeking solace in their conversation about the challenges he faced. Peter reflects on his stressful life on Earth, appreciating the serene beauty of Heaven as a welcome contrast. However, their tranquil fishing excursion is abruptly interrupted by Tory. Serenity happily greets Tory, giving him a hug and asking him if he has been promoted by the C.H.E.R.U.B yet. Tory bashfully admits he hasn't and is still a mere messenger, but Serenity promises him that he will be a guardian angel one day. Grateful, Tory announces to them that Adina requires their presence at the Heavenly Court.

As Serenity and Saint Peter draw near to the Heavenly Court, Serenity visibly tenses up, expressing her reluctance to be in the presence of Adina, citing Adina's well-known disdain for sinners. Saint Peter empathizes with Serenity's apprehension but advises her to maintain a polite demeanor nonetheless. Serenity, though clearly begrudging, sarcastically remarks that she's become quite adept at putting on a pleasant facade for Adina, implying that it shouldn't be too challenging for her.

Serenity and Peter enter the Courtroom, (with Tory discreetly observing their interactions out of curiosity). They are greeted warmly by Adina, while Serenity maintains a polite demeanor, masking her true feelings toward Adina. Adina lavishes praise upon both Serenity and Saint Peter, particularly focusing her attention on the latter. Despite Adina's overly sweet mannerisms towards Peter, Serenity remains unmoved by her flattery and remains stone-faced. Together, Serenity and Saint Peter bring attention to the malfunctioning prayer system in Heaven, seeking Adina's assistance in resolving the issue.

Adina expresses her delight at being consulted, revealing that the prayer system is the reason for their summons. She offers to reveal the inner workings of Heaven's prayers, using celestial magic and her divine bow tie to create a breathtaking celestial display, opening a galaxy-like pocket dimension within the room displaying the prayers (represented as golden, clasped, disembodied hands that display a hologram of the prayer when opened). Serenity is awestruck by the spectacle and even flies over to one to open it, but Adina abruptly intervenes, grasping Serenity's wrist harshly and causing the princess to recoil in surprise. Adina quickly apologizes as Serenity rubs her pained wrist, attributing her action to the sacred nature of prayers. She warns that revealing prayers prematurely can compromise their sanctity, though her nervousness hints at hidden secrets.

Adina explains that while some prayers are swiftly answered, she personally evaluates uncertain or morally ambiguous prayers, storing them in a pocket dimension. Despite her assurances, Serenity grows skeptical, questioning the fate of unanswered prayers. Adina uncomfortably deflects the inquiry, claiming the dimension serves as temporary storage until she removes the prayers from existence. This revelation unsettles Serenity, but Adina swiftly changes the subject, pledging to address the prayer issue promptly. Redirecting their focus, she assigns Serenity and Saint Peter the task of reassigning roles for the Exorcists. Though hesitant, Serenity reluctantly agrees, sensing a foreboding undercurrent in Adina's demeanor. With that, they leave, leaving Adina with an enigmatic smile lingering on her lips.

In "Exorcises in Redemption", Serenity and Saint Peter sear towards the gathering place of the Exorcists, Haven. En route, Saint Peter couldn't hide his concern for Serenity, prompting her to open up about her persistent unease regarding Adina's actions, particularly her possible tampering with prayers, and the concerning decline in prayer numbers noted by Peter. Despite Serenity's suspicions about Adina, Peter offered reassurance, suggesting Adina knew what she was doing, though Serenity remained skeptical.

Touching down in Haven, the Exorcists' primary dwelling with occasional visits to Heaven's upper realms, Serenity and Peter quickly run into Ebony. Serenity's joy was palpable as she warmly embraced Ebony, eager to catch up. Inquiring about the Exorcists' well-being, Serenity received a hesitant response from Ebony, who expressed concerns about their readiness for heavenly society despite enjoying newfound freedom. Peter attempted to soothe Ebony's worries, affirming their ability to reintegrate the Exorcists into society. However, his confidence wavered as he witnessed one Exorcist aggressively confronting and assaulting an ice cream vendor after they gave her the wrong ice cream flavor, planting seeds of doubt regarding their readiness for reintegration.

Later that evening, Serenity enters the Seraphim Palace, humorously collapsing face-first onto a nearby couch, utterly drained. Taking a seat beside Serenity, Sera inquired about her youngest sister's well-being, prompting Serenity to unload her myriad concerns, chiefly revolving around the reformation of the Exorcists. Sera acknowledged the troublesome nature of the Exorcists' presence in Heaven's society since they were freed from Haven. Expressing genuine apprehension, Sera warned Serenity of the potential harm the unchecked behavior of the Exorcists could inflict upon both Heavenborn and winners. She painted a grim scenario of potential consequences, including the dire possibility of being cast out from Heaven and consigned to Hell. Serenity pleaded with Sera to avoid such drastic measures, to which Sera offered reassurance, affirming her reluctance to resort to such extreme actions. Entrusting Serenity with the task of reintegrating the Exorcists within a week, Sera departed, leaving Serenity to grapple with the weight of the responsibility she had always yearned for.

In one of Heaven's conference rooms, all the Exorcists were summoned for an assembly by Serenity and Saint Peter, impatience filling the air as they awaited instructions. Suddenly, Serenity and Saint Peter entered the room, brimming with enthusiasm, presenting job opportunities to the Exorcists as though addressing a group of schoolchildren. Following their presentation, Serenity happily asked the Exorcists if they had any questions, to which one Exorcist boldly inquired about the prospect of continuing their previous task of murdering sinners, only to be met with Serenity's timid and hesitant response that such actions were no longer permissible. This declaration sparked a chorus of boos and swear words from the majority of the blood-hungry Exorcists. Despite the disapproval, Peter urged them to consider the unfamiliar proposals, saying they will never know until they try.

As Serenity and Saint Peter attempted to assign various roles to the Exorcists, chaos and highjinks ensued. Some were designated to work in Heaven's zoo, others tasked with mending dresses, while a few were even chosen as mascots for the celestial sports team. However, these endeavors quickly turned disastrous due to the Exorcists' ingrained instincts for violence and their propensity for impulsive confrontation, instilled by Azrael and Lute. The comical spectacle unfolded as each attempt at integration ended in hilarious failure.

Serenity and Saint Peter found themselves slumped together in a hallway, their heads buried in their hands, their reservoir of ideas nearly depleted. In a last-ditch effort, Saint Peter tentatively suggested assigning the Exorcists to confront demons who ventured onto Earth. However, Serenity adamantly opposed the notion, arguing that the Exorcists shouldn't be condemned to a cycle of violence anymore. She advocated for a fresh start, insisting that they deserved lives and occupations that diverged from their grim past. Saint Peter lamented the seemingly indelible nature of their instinct to kill, a trait ingrained in them by their former roles.

Acknowledging the complexity of the situation, Serenity and Saint Peter reluctantly agreed that a drastic approach was necessary. They concluded that an extensive and intensive therapy session might be the only path forward, a measure aimed at unraveling the deep-seated psychological conditioning that plagued the Exorcists and hindered their prospects of rehabilitation.

Once more, the Exorcists assembled, facing Serenity, Saint Peter, and Ebony as they bravely confronted the deep-seated issues plaguing their comrades. In a candid exchange, the Exorcists revealed their belief in their own worthlessness prior to their assignment by Azrael, convinced that their purpose was irrevocably tied to violence and vengeance. Some harbored resentments towards sinners who had ended their lives before their ascension to Heaven.

Yet, Serenity, Ebony, and Saint Peter adamantly contested these notions, passionately asserting the inherent beauty of each Exorcist's soul before their indoctrination. As tensions peaked, an uplifting and fiercely combative musical ensemble erupted, with the Exorcists staunchly reiterating their convictions that change was futile.

Undeterred, Serenity, Ebony, and Saint Peter countered with a heartfelt display of solidarity, lifting the Exorcists with their words of encouragement. Using her magical abilities, Serenity conjured visions of the joyous moments from the Exorcists' past lives, illustrating the happiness they once knew and passions they had before their lives in the military. She reminded them that these memories could serve as beacons of hope during dark times and that can't live the rest of their existence being the instruments of destruction they were used as.

As the truth of their words resonated, the Exorcists realized of their intrinsic value and self-worth, shedding the shackles of their former beliefs. As Serenity clasped the hands of one Exorcist, poised to embark on a journey of redemption, a fleeting moment of hope shimmered in the air. However, the heartwarming moment and hope was shattered by the sudden appearance of Metatron in the assembly room. He casually made an announcement that pierced the air like a thunderbolt, delivering the devastating news that Adina had summoned the Exorcists back to Haven to commence training for the impending cleanse.

Pandemonium erupted in the assembly; the Exorcists cheer excitedly, happy to kill demons again; Serenity, consumed by a fiery rage, shouted "WHAT?!" as she flared her wings and a cascade of angelic eyes manifested across her body; Ebony let out a defeated "oh, fuck me!"; and Saint Peter simply fainted cartoonishly in exhaustion and dismay.

In "Kill Them With Kindness", a distressed Serenity goes to Sera about the news that Adina has summoned the Exorcists back to Haven. Sera regrettably tells Serenity that Adina has right over the Exorcists, and reminds Serenity that Hell has yet to present a sinner capable of redemption. Serenity says that she still has faith in Hell's sinners and that they simply have a lot of mulling to do. This meeting between the two sisters is interrupted by Metatron, who brings news of Gabriel’s brief return to Heaven showcase his remarkable inventions. Serenity squees excitedly at this, noting that Gabriel would know what to do.

In Halo City, a grand assembly awaits, with even the Queen of Heaven, Asherah, attending to witness Gabriel's arrival. Sera and Serenity meet Asherah, Serenity's excitement greatly contrasting with Sera's formality. Asherah wholly embraces Serenity's infectious joy, dispelling the need for formalities, preferring to be called "Asha". She gifts the sisters with golden flowers to go in their hair and engages in conversation with them. During this, Serenity considers bringing the news of Heaven's prayers problem to Asherah, though she does not inform the Queen of Heaven for a myriad of reasons, primarily due to wanting to resolve it herself.

Later, Gabriel finally makes his appearance and allows Heaven's denizens to explore his hovercraft full of inventions, Sounding his trumpet, Gabriel enthusiastically leads the audience, including Serenity—who is eager to meet him—into the spaceship, which reveals itself to be much larger on the inside than it appears from the outside. Serenity stands wide-eyed and in awe at the inventions around her.

Eventually, Serenity finally meets Gabriel, expressing her excitement to meet him. Gabriel recognizes Serenity as one of the seraphim, mentioning how Seraphiel constantly praises her. Serenity shares her enthusiasm for her work, emphasizing her desire to help others and make a difference. However, their conversation takes a more grim turn when she reveals her concern about the Extermination. Gabriel acknowledges the Extermination as one of Michael's creations but mentions rumors of its potential cancellation. Serenity affirms these rumors but is worried that if they can't prove redemption as a viable alternative, Adina will be allowed to reinstate the cleanse. Gabriel humorously refers to Adina as being crazy and assures Serenity that he believes in redemption, noting that even sinners have the potential to change.

Serenity questions why they can't focus on reforming sinners instead of destroying them, expressing her belief that Heaven should be a place of love and second chances. Gabriel agrees, highlighting the importance of bright angels like Serenity who seek greater solutions. He admits the cleanse serves a purpose but stresses the need to fight for redemption. Serenity, moved by Gabriel's support, asks if Adina might ever understand their perspective. Gabriel doubts it, humorously describing Adina as irrational and unlikely to change. He encourages Serenity to pursue her dreams and not let people like Adina deter her, adding a playful note about avoiding dreams of world domination. Serenity giggles and thanks Gabriel, hugging him. Gabriel, initially surprised, warmly returns the hug, reaffirming his support.

Serenity then mentions Heaven's "prayer problem" to Gabriel, highlighting its potential severity. Gabriel acknowledges the issue but explains that managing Heaven's prayers is no longer his responsibility, as his loyalty now lies with his siblings and their duties. Donning a pair of eccentric goggles, Gabriel quickly sets to work on a parting gift for Serenity. He gathers a collection of seemingly random objects, dips them in gold liquid, and feeds them into a whimsical machine, which produces an item that Serenity awkwardly describes as a baby rattle with a glowing rattle, though Gabriel optimistically likens it to a wand. When Serenity asks what it does, Gabriel pauses before admitting he has no clue, but suggests it might help her when she least expects it.

As evening falls, Gabriel sings a song to Serenity, offering her wisdom and encouragement, drawing from his experiences as an archangel. He talks about his status as an archangel and his wisdom, but rather than bragging, he uses this to reassure Serenity of her inner strength and intelligence, urging her to believe in herself even when facing the challenges ahead. He swoops her up, flying her through the skies as he emphasizes that her journey, with its wins and losses, is completely worthwhile. Touching down on Heaven's grounds, Gabriel concludes his number by encouraging Serenity to remember his words if she ever feels her own strength falter. He floats into the air and blows his trumpet one final time, vanishing in a bright flash of light, returning to his siblings.

In "Dirty Little Secrets", Serenity is at the Seraphim palace, tinkering with the object Gabriel had given her, wondering what it could be. With much on her mind, Serenity looks over at her crystal she has been using to communicate with Charlie since leaving Hell and tries to contact the Princess of Hell, only to receive no answer. Upset, she waits by the ball for Charlie to answer or make a call to her, feeling neglected and fearing that Charlie no longer likes her. Saint Peter enters, notices Serenity's distress, and tries to comfort her by reminding her that Charlie is likely busy with her duties as princess. Serenity goes deep into her affection and romantic feelings for Charlie, though she worries that she might come across as a stalker. Saint Peter reassures her, suggesting Serenity give her some space. He then shifts Serenity's focus to a task at hand, mentioning that they are needed at Ms. Hartfelt's restaurant for an anniversary dinner, which lifts Serenity's spirits.

Saint Peter and Serenity visit the Hartfelt Food restaurant, where the owner, Ms. Hartfelt] is worried about her latest dishes. She wants her restaurant's anniversary to be special but fears she might not have enough of the secret ingredient, which turns out to be star dust, a favorite "spice" among angels. Serenity and Saint Peter volunteer to fetch the star dust and even venture into outer space to get it.

While out in space, Serenity and Saint Peter marvel at the vastness of the universe. Serenity, amused by Peter's hair floating in zero gravity, laughs until she realizes her own hair is also floating. They both enjoy the lighthearted moment, laughing together. Peter, excitedly flies around, reassuring Serenity when she expresses nervousness about flying in space for the first time. Holding both of her hands, he promises to keep her safe, and they soar through the cosmic expanse together. Serenity is captivated by the beauty around them, touching stars and watching twinkles trail from her fingers. Peter juggles stardust, delighting in the infinite wonders of the universe like children in an infinite, cosmic playground. They reflect on the magnificence of it all, with Peter singing a song noting the endless opportunities for exploration, though the song soon becomes about sharing the moment with Serenity. Serenity, grateful for the experience, especially cherishes sharing it with Peter and joins in, stardust trailing them as if their friendship itself is illuminating the darkness of space. He reciprocates her sentiment, and they share a fist-bump before returning to Heaven.

Upon their return, they bring back plenty of star dust, thrilling Ms. Hartfelt. She instructs her staff to start cooking and invites Serenity and Saint Peter to help. That evening, the anniversary dinner is a resounding success, with angels flocking to the restaurant and spilling out into the streets, all joyfully united over the simple pleasure of food.

However, Serenity begins hearing a twinkling noise and summons the object Gabriel had given her. It is glowing and radiates brighter when Serenity points it in a certain direction. Excusing herself, Serenity flies off, the light guiding her towards none other than Heaven's Courtroom. Anxious, but determined, Serenity sneaks into the courtroom, hiding in the rafters as she sees Adina and Fitch, not recognizing the latter. As Adina swirls amidst the magical bubbles she uses to spy on Heaven's denizens, Fitch advises her that once they take control of Heaven and begin their crusade against sin, she should let him protect her more actively since she will be a prime target for the forces of evil. Adina laughs off his suggestion, confident in their power and the army of Exorcists at their command, dismisses Fitch's concerns.

Fitch warns her not to become complacent, pointing out that Serenity is already suspicious of them. Adina belittles Serenity's potential threat, but Fitch remains wary, emphasizing the risk of a civil war if their actions are discovered. Adina reassures Fitch, reminding him that their mission to cleanse Creation is righteous and divinely supported. To bolster his confidence, Adina enchants Fitch with golden dust, transforming it into armor and giving him a dragon-embellished staff. She commands him to eliminate all heretics when they rise to power. Fitch, now in his golden armor, slams the staff down, aligning with Adina as they envision Heaven's denizens bowing to them and demon heads on pikes surrounding them. Together, they vow death to all who oppose their mission. Chills run down Serenity's spine, as she realizes the depths of Adina's corruption.

Still, Serenity uses the "rattle" to light her way through the courtroom, trying to remain unseen by Adina and Fitch. The light guides Serenity to the lower chambers of the Heavenly Court, where she sees various torture equipment and holding cells, which the Seraphim princess notes is against Heaven's values. The light leads Serenity to a wall, which she uses angelic magic to pass through, entering a room full of the prayers Adina has been keeping. Serenity puts together that the object Gabriel had given her was a crude recreation of one that he would use during his time answering prayers, used to help angels find "lost" and unanswered prayers.

Fed up and wanting to get to the bottom of the prayer issue, Serenity is finally able to pry open the hands of the prayer to see its nature, and she is absolutely mortified at what it reveals; a sinner begging for mercy as Adina psychologically tortures him. It is revealed that, over the years, Adina and Fitch have been kidnapping sinners and bringing them to Heaven in secret, torturing them and forcing them to literally pray to mercy before they would be murdered. Adina and Fitch would then take their prayer and absorb its power, and have been using these powers to keep control over Heaven.

Enraged, Serenity takes all of the sinners' prayers to take them to Sera, but she is suddenly intercepted by Adina and Fitch, the former grinning widely. Serenity is furious and confronts Adina about her crimes, but Adina isn't fearful in the slightest. Conjuring her angelic surveillance, she replays footage of Serenity breaking into the courtroom and "tampering" with the prayers Adina has protected. Enraged by all of Adina's injustice, Serenity tries to attack Adina, but the chieftess, empowered by the prayers of sinners, overpowers Serenity, allowing Fitch to take the sinners' prayers back to her. Adina then puts the seraphim princess to sleep with a simple hand gesture.

When Serenity awakens, she finds herself restrained, standing before a court of hundreds. It becomes quick that Adina has put her in a sequestered kangaroo court, dubbing Serenity a danger to Heaven and showing all of the "evidence" she has of the princess' wrongdoings, telling the court that it is not the responsibility of Seraph to handle Heaven's prayers. Serenity begs the courtroom to not listen to Adina, urging them to look into the prayers Adina is keeping hidden, but it becomes clear to Serenity that the court is under Adina's control, much to her horror. And so, Serenity is sentenced to be banished to Purgatory and is deemed a fallen angel. As Serenity pleas, Adina mercilessly uses magic to remove her wings, and creates a portal to send Serenity to a dark void within Purgatory, where she can never escape. The last thing Serenity sees and ears is Fitch and Adina's sinister grins and maniacal laughter, their eyes and teeth glowing yellow from the power of sinners' prayers, before the portal closes, leaving her trapped in total darkness.

In "Everything You Know is Wrong", In Purgatory, Serenity is deeply despondent after her fall, calling for help in the void but unable to move due to her wings being taken away. She starts by cursing Adina, then shifts the blame onto herself, lamenting that she had the chance to stop Adina and failed, eventually curling into a fetal position, crying herself to sleep with the only light around her being the soft, gold glow of the rose Asherah had given her, still nestled in her hair.

Eight hours later, Serenity begins hearing voices in her head—from Sera and random Heaven occupants—telling her to "stay in her lane" or in her station, lest she end up like Lucifer - something that has transpired. Terrified, she shields herself and yells at them to go away, and to her relief, they seemingly do. However, Serenity is suddenly startled from behind by a figure, who turns out to be Lucifer, much to her utter horror.

A slack-jawed Serenity nervously asks Lucifer how he managed to enter Purgatory and how he knew she was there. However, "Lucifer" clarifies that he is merely a vision conjured by what he dubs "Purgatory shenanigans," based on Serenity's limited perception of him. He explains that the voices Serenity is hearing are also caused by these "Purgatory shenanigans," before teasing her by suggesting he doesn’t actually know if it's that or if she's simply going nuts.

"Lucifer" then inquires about what happened to Serenity, and she tearfully explains her situation. Pretending to be sympathetic, "Lucifer" dismisses her plight, claiming he's heard it all before. When Serenity asks what he means, "Lucifer" gives her an expression like she's an idiot. Groaning, he conjures his rubber duck troupe and begins singing an absurdist, yet introspective song, reflecting on his former status in Heaven, his disdain for humanity, and the rebellion that led to his downfall. As he fell, he realized his previous beliefs were misguided and that Heaven is inherently broken, built on false hopes and a facade of perfection. "Lucifer" shares this revelation with Serenity, noting that her ambition to improve Heaven only led to a similar downfall. The musical number explosively concludes with "Lucifer" reassuring Serenity not to feel bad, as disillusionment is a common fate for those who expect too much from Heaven.

After, the world around them shifts, which "Lucifer" excitedly notes as more "Purgatory shenanigans" incoming. The scene changes to Heaven, specifically to Serenity's childhood, where Sera and Seraphiel stood over her, and Seraphiel had his premonition that Serenity would unite Heaven and Hell. As he watches this, kicked back on a couch and eating circus peanuts, "Lucifer" fake-gags and insults Seraphiel, saying he never could stand his "fairy tales" and going on an unhinged rant about how he plays music "ten gazillion" times better than him (clearly salty over Seraph being the new composer). He notices Serenity staring him with wide eyes, unnerved by his rant, before digressing and telling Serenity that from the moment she was born, Heaven placed high expectations on her.

Serenity rhetorically questions Lucifer, asking if the unification of Heaven and Hell is a good thing. "Lucifer" tells her that Heaven and Hell mix about as well as oil and water, accusing her of being conditioned since birth to excuse Heaven and its ways. Angrily, Serenity tells "Lucifer" that she never excused the Extermination, but "Lucifer" retorts that she still did nothing to stop it because she feared being banished, deep down. Serenity has no real argument against this, but insists that she wasn't "conditioned" since birth, but "Lucifer" just chuckles and mockingly tells her that she isn't in a position to determine that.

More memories unfold, showing Serenity becoming the new bringer of joy, welcoming denizens to Heaven. As decades, even millennia, of welcomes, waves, and smiles play out before them, "Lucifer" methodically remarks that Serenity is merely a mascot for Heaven, used by them to maintain their air of perfection. Disturbed, Serenity insists that she never intended to make Heaven seem perfect, and that the souls within Heaven deserved eternal joy after living in a weary world, but "Lucifer" counters by asking if they also deserved to be kept in the dark, oblivious to the Extermination.

"Lucifer" begins giggling excitedly as they approach the biggest "fiery hoop" of all—Serenity's older sister, Sera. "Lucifer" insists that Sera has always kept Serenity down, suppressing her dreams out of fear and keeping her in a loop of "smiling and waving," pretending everything was perfect. This culminates in a vision that plays before them, where "Serenity" defies "Sera" and tells her off.

In the vision, "Serenity" and "Sera" have an argument that culminates in "Serenity" reveal to her big sister that she was miserable throughout all their cherished childhood moments because of everything Sera kept from her or prevented her from doing, using her signature fake smile to seem happy. She shouts that Sera was a horrible sister who utterly failed to make her happy, and that all her pitiful attempts at bonding were for nothing. To Serenity's surprise, rather than "Sera" offering any retort, a heartbroken "Sera" just wordlessly breaks down on her knees, crying into her hands at the revelation that she never brought Serenity any joy.

As everything fades around Serenity and "Lucifer," leaving them once again in the void where Serenity was cast, Serenity is completely wordless from the experience. "Lucifer," ever the showman, excitedly asks if she had fun, offering his own opinion on the experience as if reviewing a movie, despite Serenity's world crashing down around her. Once it finally registers that Serenity is upset, "Lucifer" groans and conjures a sofa for them both to sit on.

After an awkward silence, "Lucifer" asks Serenity if she wants to talk about anything. Serenity asks "Lucifer" why he—or Purgatory—showed her all of this. "Lucifer" explains that Purgatory has a "funny way" of digging into one's mind and insists that everything she saw is what she truly feels, insisting that she knows union between Heaven and Hell is impossible. As Serenity silently cries on the sofa's armrest, "Lucifer" says that he is the only one who can understand her, and offers to take her to Hell, to have a new home, bring joy to sinners, and have "sapphic fantasies or whatever" with Charlie. He gives Serenity a "whatduya say?"

After a contemplative pause, Serenity... Rejects "Lucifer's" offer, much to his anger. She admits there is some truth to what he says, and that Heaven is broken, but she rejects the idea that Heaven and Hell can't be united. She acknowledges that Sera is imperfect but insists that her big sister still loves her, and they have already reconciled, with Sera regretting what she did to Serenity.

Nonplussed, "Lucifer" explodes with anger, questioning why Serenity still loves Heaven despite everything. Serenity responds that she will never give up on Heaven, if not for the betterment of its order, then for the souls in Earth and Hell who deserve a true Paradise. Despite Lucifer's insistence that people who give a shit about Hell and its souls shouldn't be in Heaven to begin with, Serenity rejects this notion, saying that segregating each other based on opinions accomplishes absolutely nothing. Her resolve causes "Lucifer" to begin vanishing. Before completely disappearing, "Lucifer" chuckles and tells Serenity that she reminds him of someone, to which she knowingly replies that she wishes Lucifer could have as well.

Everything falls silent again, until Serenity hears "Sera's" distant sobbing. With a downcast expression, she follows the sound and returns to the vision she and "Lucifer" had watched, looking down at and approaching the vision of her broken big sister. Wordlessly, Serenity brings "Sera" into a tight embrace.

The Holy Hell finale "For Heaven's Sake" begins with Serenity, three days (or nearly 30 minutes, in linear time) into her imprisonment, still adrift in a fetal position within the void of Purgatory, forlorn. However, the defeating silence is interrupted by Saint Peter's voice calling out to her. Like a corpse reanimated, Serenity perks up and desperately calls out for Peter as well. A distant light shines far from the void, where Peter's silhouette is visible. Overjoyed by Peter's arrival, Serenity's joy turns to horror when Peter yells out that Adina is enacting her plan. He tries to fly down to Serenity, but the seemingly inescapable void also threatens to entrap him.

Not wanting Peter to be imprisoned, Serenity frantically yells at him to stay where he is, and she will escape alone. Knowing that she cannot let Heaven and especially its people down, Serenity makes numerous attempts to fly out of the dimension, even without wings, all of her attempts failing at first. After several failed attempts, Serenity refuses to give up, the golden rose in her hair shining once more as she regains her resolve, and through pure heart and determination, earns her wings back and she finds it within herself to fly and break out of the dimensions herself, fiery determination in her eyes as she tears through the void like a Thanksgiving turkey, flying into the arms of Saint Peter, who was completely taken aback by this. However, he regains himself, and he and Serenity embrace each other in their arms, flying out of Purgatory together through the portal Peter had used to enter it.

By the time Peter and Serenity return to Heaven, Adina and Fitch have begun their mission to subjugate Heaven; Adina, perched on the halo tower of Halo City, uses her magic to encompass the entirety of Heaven, planning to set sail across the Universe and eradicate all sins and imperfection in Heaven's name. Knowing they have no time to lose, Serenity and Saint Peter link back up with Ebony and Tory, both hiding from Fitch's dragons Tory expresses despair over the futility of stopping Adina, emphasizing the powerful and inaccessible magic she wields. However, Serenity remains determined and responds with a message of hope, invoking the core values of Heaven: faith, hope, and charity. She recalls Heaven's past as a place of hope, kindness, and justice, and asserts their mission to reclaim it as such. As Peter, Tory, Ebony, and nearby onlookers look to her with reverence, Serenity emphasizes the importance of actively standing up against injustice and cruelty, regardless of the odds. She reassures Tory with a gentle touch and a confident smile, declaring her unwavering commitment to changing the current oppressive system, even if it means doing so alone and over an extended period. Tory, with his confidence restored, asks Serenity what her plan is.

Meanwhile, Adina attempts to fuel herself on the prayers of all of Heaven's denizens, forcing every denizen in Halo City into a prayer position. However, all of the prayers she attempts to drain are duds, leading to Fitch to tell her that she cannot force prayers out of Heaven's denizens in such a manner, since prayers must come from the heart. However, Adina is undeterred and prepares to torture every single angel right then and there to extract their prayers of mercy, but she is interrupted by Serenity, who flies up to Adina with fiery determination, her return heartening the thousands of denizens of Heaven watching from below.

Though her return catches Adina a tad off-guard, Adina addresses Serenity like a parent who caught their child sneaking out past curfew. Adina and Fitch, not wanting to bother with fighting the resistance herself, conjures an army of golden, artificial angels to fight for them as they focus on sailing Heaven through the Universe.

Serenity, Tory, and Peter fight Adina's conjured projects for a time, until the Exorcists fly in - Ebony leading the charge - and begin triumphantly massacring Adina's artificial army, refusing to be used as puppets in Adina's crusade. With Ebony having rallied her sisters-in-arms against the army, Serenity and Saint Peter join hands and fly to the halo tower for the final confrontation with Adina and Fitch.

Upon reaching the top, Fitch comments on the duo's persistence, while Adina calls them cockroaches. Adina tasks Fitch with destroying Halo City simply to distract one or both of the two, but before Fitch can leave, Peter cuts him off. Serenity and Saint Peter proceed to do battle with Adina and Fitch; Serenity struggles against the more unhinged, powerful, and aggressive Adina, while Peter's angelic magic proves too much for Fitch despite him only being armed with a holy shield. During Peter and Fitch's dual, Peter uses his Shield of Heaven to destroy Fitch's prayer-powered trident before nearly shield-bashing him off of the tower. Adina ensnares Serenity in a yellow, magical aura that causes her intense pain when she resists, prompting Peter to leave Fitch alone to help Serenity.

Peter frees Serenity by shield-bashing Adina (but not before apologizing to the priestess), catching Serenity in his arms, the two sharing a smile. Meanwhile, blooded and his glasses shattered, a grounded Fitch on all fours shouts at Adina to let him transform into his dragon form. Adina happily obliges Fitch's command and gives Fitch his full power. With a sinister grin, Fitch explodes into a plumb of yellow and green flames and assumes his extremely power, intimidating draconic form. Serenity and Peter look upon his form in terror as Adina gracefully lands on Fitch's back, cackling as Fitch lets out a roar that shakes the heavens.

Peter and Serenity struggle against Fitch's dragon form, with the battle of biblical proportions turning more into a fight for survival. As Serenity and Peter try to protect each other from the dragon, Serenity shoves Peter out of the way of a tail whip meant for him, taking a devastating tail whip from Fitch that leaves her unconscious. Adina gives Fitch permission to kill "Sleeping Beauty", and Fitch obliges, unleashing his holy fire breath to the grounded Serenity.

However, just before the last of fire can consume her, Tory flies in, curls into his shell, and shields Serenity from the blast, the light from the impact shining throughout Heaven, leaving the onlookers down below confused.

Serenity recovers, where she sees Tory laying nearby, his shell broken and Tory himself seemingly dead. Instantly brought to tears, Serenity and Saint Peter rush to Tory, who is unresponsive. Serenity cradles Tory in tears, holding him close and telling him that he didn't and shouldn't have done that. As the smoke clears, the emotional scene is ruined by Adina and Fitch, looking down upon the heroes in satisfaction. Adina cackles at Tory's sacrifice and presumed death, mocking Serenity and Peter for involving children in war.

Completely infuriated at Tory's seeming death, Saint Peter raises his hand and summons the Spear of Heaven, determined to avenge Tory. Consumed by anger, he relentlessly attacks Fitch, blocking all of Fitch's attacks with the Shield of Heaven while stabbing and wounding the dragon with the Spear of Heaven. During this, an emotional Serenity flies Tory off to get him away from the battle. Peter brings Fitch down by slicing and cutting holes into his wings, preventing him from flying and causing him to plummet back down to the tower, sending Adina violently tumbling to the side as well. Despite everything Fitch has done to Heaven and his friends, Peter shows mercy and refuses to kill him, satisfied by having beaten him. Enraged and humiliated, Fitch defiantly unleashes another blast of fire in Peter's direction, but Peter narrowly manages to block the blast with his shield, indirectly sending it back at Fitch. Fitch is consumed in his own flames, and in a state of pain and panic, tumbles off the tower to his death, exploding in a plumb of fire and ash.

Adina is enraged and emotional following Fitch's death, as well as threatened that she can still be killed even with the power of prayer. Adina attacks the physically and emotionally exhausted Saint Peter, but Serenity returns to combat Adina, her hair and eyes on fire in a display of Seraphim rage.

Serenity and Adina have a full-on holy battle, with Adina employing malevolent fire, attempts at mind control, and powers of dark angelic magic, while Serenity combats this with the powers of the Seraphim, including summoning meteorites and surrounding herself in a sphere of holy fire as protection. As the battle rages, Serenity calmly confronts the furious Adina, telling her that there is something she has been wanting to tell her for a long time. Adina shrieks in response and continues attacking Serenity, but she is undeterred and continues. Serenity desperately tries to make Adina see the true nature of prayers; that they come from the heart. Digging deeper, Serenity reminds Adina of her painful childhood, telling her that Adina's prayers to erase sin was not genuine and, in reality, her real desire in her heart was to not be alone and no longer in pain of loss. Serenity points out that this prayer was answered when Sera and Seraphiel took Adina in after she lost everything.

Adina responds with bitter laughter, dismissing Serenity's understanding of her pain and suffering. She accuses Serenity of having everything handed to her by their father, contrasting it with her own deprivation. Adina mocks Serenity for her compassion towards humans and insists that her actions, which Serenity opposes, are what the princess should also be doing. She further mocks Serenity for judging what her prayers should be, since Adina herself is the one who has the "right" to do that.

Adina manages to break Serenity's sphere of fire and defeats the princess swiftly. Adina then begins torturing Serenity before Heaven as a way to break their spirits and remind them who is now in charge. Down below, Heaven's denizens are horrified, as Serenity has helped them through their afterlives, and they refuse to let her be killed, but feel powerless to help. Some of Heaven's denizens begin praying for Serenity's safety, which prompts other denizens to join in. Through this, Serenity slowly becomes greatly empowered by the hope and prayers of Heaven's denizens. Now glowing a golden aura, she is reinvigorated by these prayers, breaking free from Adina's grasp and flying over to free Sera from her containment. Adina begins losing her mind as she realizes that she is losing control.

Sera and Serenity, as sisters, fight Adina together, with Adina unable to keep up with both of them, especially with Serenity's newfound power. Adina lets out a scream of utter anger and flies outside of Heaven. She shouts that if Heaven will not help her in her crusade, then it will be the first "victim" and the beginning point of the crusade, planning to annihilate Heaven and its denizens in a single blow. Adina summons an extremely powerful, lightning-laden spear in her hand and hurls it down at Heaven, but Serenity and Sera fire a joint blast of holy fire at the spear to stop it. Adina, in a fit of madness, flies down to the spear as it disintegrates and grips its handle with all her power in an attempt to overpower the sisters' defensive blast. Sera and Serenity frantically beg Adina to stop, but the chieftess is too overcome with madness to listen. Despite Adina's attempts to win, she is overpowered in the struggle and obliterated, her reign over Heaven is finally ended. Serenity and Sera have a moment to mourn Adina, Serenity silently comforting Sera as she stares at where Adina once stood with a mix of sadness and frustration.

In the aftermath of the battle, Serenity and Sera descend into Halo City, the denizens overwhelming them with blessings and cheers. As Sera tends to the denizens, Serenity rushes through the crowd and finds Tory laying on the side, his shell broken. She kneels down to him, tears welling in her eyes. She puts a hand on his shell, asking him why he did that. To her surprise, Tory, still alive, weakly replies that he did it because she always believed in him. Serenity gasps and picks Tory up, putting him in her lap as he looks up at her, weakly smiling. Relieved that Tory is alive, at least for now, Serenity shushes Tory and cradles him, holding him close in a hug as he closes his eyes.

Just then, a bright light descends upon the crowd of angels as everyone looks in awe. The light touches down near Serenity and it is revealed to be Asherah, looking down at Serenity with a soft smile. Saint Peter runs up and frantically tries to explain all that happened in a goofy and over-the-top way, but Asherah calmly and politely silences him, revealing that she knows everything that transpired. In a twist, Asherah confesses that she had been "testing" everyone, and was with them every step of the way; She kept contact with Serenity using the golden rose she had given her, was the one who granted Serenity her wings back to escape Purgatory, protected Heaven's denizens from any real harm of Adina's wrath, and she allowed the prayers of Heaven's denizens to empower Serenity. Additionally, Asherah coyly reveals that there was never really a "prayer problem", and that she made sure that all the "lost prayers" reached humans herself. The queen then thanks Serenity, saying she has proven herself once again and declares her a hero to all of their kingdom.

Speaking of heroes, Asherah then kneels down beside Serenity and comforts Tory, before waving her hand. Through Asherah's magic, Tory involuntarily ascends above them, swirling and undergoing a transformation, his shell turning gold as he is completely revitalized. Asherah divinely ordains Tory a guardian angel for saving Serenity and Heaven itself. Serenity, overcome with glee, hugs Tory tightly, saying that she always had faith in him.

As Tory is celebrated by the cherubs of Heaven, Sera approaches Serenity, and the two share a tender moment where Sera reveals that she is stepping down as Head Seraph and will become the new Chieftess of Justice. Serenity is taken aback by this, asking Sera who the next Head Seraph will be. Asherah interrupts the conversation, telling Serenity that she will be the Head Seraph. Serenity is nearly speechless, but Sera assures Serenity she has done more than enough to prove herself. Serenity squees loudly and is completely overcome with joy, telling Saint Peter the news like an excited child. He is just as giddy as her as they spin each around, laughing like a duo of goofballs.

A week later, Serenity and Sera stand near the exit of the Seraphim palace, with Sera in the outfit of the Chieftess of Justice, while Serenity is donned in the robes of the Head Seraph. Sera passes it to Serenity that they have finally caught up on human prayers to answer, so humanity won't be imploding on itself any time soon. As Serenity is giddy over the crowd awaiting the two, Sera compliments Serenity on her beauty, before reflecting on their differences. Sera turns away, emotionally asking Serenity if she did well in raising her and making her happy, questioning her own capability as Chieftess of Justice if she couldn't do right by her own sister and human souls, taking responsibility for the deaths of those lost in the Extermination. As Sera hangs her head low in remorse, Serenity responds with a bittersweet smile, acknowledging that Sera did well in many aspects—taking care of her, keeping their people in check, and supporting their family despite constant stress. She recognizes her big sister's strength, but points out that she lacks compassion, especially towards the sinners of Hell. Serenity emphasizes that compassion should extend to everyone, even those in Hell, and that everyone deserves a heavenly touch. She holds Sera's hands and asks if she agrees with this perspective. After a long pause, Sera, moved by Serenity's kindness, smiles and nods in agreement, tears falling from her eyes as she remains determined to make up for her wrongdoings. The conversation ends with the sisters closing their eyes and leaning their foreheads together in a display of sisterly love, signifying a mutual understanding and emotional connection.

Serenity and Sera exit the palace, greeted by a crowd of millions, including her sisters, Queen Asherah, Saint Peter, guardian angel Tory, and Ebony. After Serenity cuts off another one of Metatron's overly-long and indulgent introductions, all of Heaven joins together in a song and dance, singing about the bright future of their kingdom, defined by unity and acceptance. However, the song is abruptly cut off by a familiar voice, shouting at all the angels to stop singing. The heroes and the entire crowd turn to look at the pearly gates, which suspensefully open to reveal none other than Sir Pentious, now in a heavenly form, cursing Lux for dropping him off at the wrong gate, leaving him stranded for months. Everyone's jaw drops at the redeemed sinner - except for Serenity, who has literal stars in her eyes with joy that Charlie proved herself and that the Extermination can permanently be annulled as per her and Sera's deal-, and Pentious, confused, asks everyone why they are looking at him like that.

Personality[]

"♫I am a Seraph, born of Heaven,
My duty is to protect those who enter Heaven and guide them to where they belong,
It is all that I do,
But this time, I want to sing
For someone who is truly special
I hope you will always have this memory
Of me singing just for you
But I promise you there are no limits
To the joy we can share!♫
"
— Serenity singing to a group of children in Heaven.

Serenity is whimsical, pure, and initially naive in her interactions, but has an independent, strong, and confident side to her. She loves flittering around and bringing hope and good cheer to the denizens of Heaven, ensuring their happiness and welcoming any new faces whether they be winners or visiting outsiders. With her around, there are no bad days for any soul. She is incredibly friendly, open-minded, hospitable, and pure of heart, viewing all of Heaven's inhabitants as her family and not having a single bad bone within her. She believes that even the worst sinners deserve mercy, regardless of their actions or capacity for redemption. She seems to spread forgiveness and kindness for all souls, reflecting a deep sense of empathy and hope for everyone.

In stark contrast to her sister Sera, Serenity often lets her emotions dictate her actions, and dedicating most of her time to befriending anyone she can and creating a bond of friendship between herself and the winners of Heaven. Deeply passionate about music and singing, she spends much of her free time frolicking around the streets of Heaven, lifting spirits and leading musical numbers with its denizens.

Despite her kindness, Serenity shows a lot of inner strength and independence; she dislikes being kept out of important things and being treated like a child, and will fight strongly for what she believes in. She also doesn't like it when other people feel as though she needs to be protected, as shown when she kindly refused Tory's offer to be her guardian angel and expressed confidence in her ability to handle challenges alone.

Serenity is a beacon of love and compassion, driven by a deep desire to spread kindness to all corners of Creation, including Hell. In stark contrast to some higher angels, she is very open-minded, is kind and compassionate to even demons, and staunchly opposes the Exterminations, finding herself appalled and disturbed by the annual cleanse sanctioned by Heaven's authorities, including her sister Sera. She even briefly became distrusting towards Heaven itself simply because of what Charlie was telling her about the Extermination. Silently harboring a dream not shared by many of Heaven's denizens, she envisions a realm where sinners can be redeemed and welcomed into Heaven, and dreams that Hell and Heaven can be united rather than at odds with each other. Her vision goes beyond merely adding diversity to the holy kingdom; she envisions a compassionate world where even damned souls can experience an afterlife free from suffering once they atone for their sins.

Serenity is evidently very intelligent; as the greeter of winners, she knows much of the ins and outs of her kingdom, giving winners advice on how to adapt in Heaven and which places they would enjoy going to. Despite her intelligence, Serenity has a distinctly childlike, hopeful intonation and manner of speaking. She also shows emotional intelligence and empathy; while greeting a very young winner, she initially greeted them with exuberance, but quickly adjusted her approach upon realizing the child's young age and nervous demeanor.

Serenity is one who believes that diversity is the spice of life, and wants Heaven to open the pearly gates to more souls to diversify Heaven. Wanting to do everything in her power to do right by her kingdom, she is a bit unaware of what goes on behind the scenes, being deliberately kept out of things due to her perceived naiveté. She wants to take on more responsibility, and is determined, passionate, upbeat, and kind.

Despite Serenity's bubbly and kind-hearted demeanor, she possesses a fierce passion and vocal stance on her beliefs, fighting for what she believes in and will even go as far as to oppose Heaven's flawed system when necessary. Despite her nearly all-loving nature, she harbored a strong dislike for Azrael due to his leadership role in the Extermination, viewing him as the embodiment of all of Heaven's problems. Additionally, she at one point opposed her own sister, Sera, for her lack of faith in Hell's potential for redemption and improvement. Serenity also isn't one to mince words; she straightforwardly called Adina a "witch" upon discovering that she had been tortuously killing sinners within the sanctity of Heaven. Serenity, despite believing most souls are capable of redemption, was also paralyzed with horror when she read Alastor's soul, indicating that what she saw made him irredeemable to her. During the War in Hell, she fiercely used her seraphim powers to protect the sinners of Hell from extermination, showing a willingness to resort to using her destructive and defensive powers to protect others.

Indeed, Serenity has a profound commitment to her beliefs, even if it means challenging Sera to aid Charlie in her mission to redeem sinners. When she encountered Charlie in her quest for Heaven's Light and spends a day with the Princess of Hell at the Hazbin Hotel, Serenity and Charlie were absolutely thrilled to discover their shared convictions regarding redemption and the inclusion of sinners in Heaven. Serenity later went as far as defending the inhabitants of Hell and fervently rallying its sinners against Azrael and his Exorcist legions.

However, Serenity still shows great mercy and understanding even to those she disdains. Despite hating Adina for the billions upon billions of sinners she has indirectly and directly killed, Serenity still tried to reach out and reason with the chieftess by telling her that her childhood prayers were, in reality, answered, and that what she truly desired was with her all along. She and Sera also both mourned Adina after she was killed.

Natural Powers[]

  • Angelic Transformation: Serenity is capable of shifting into a more alien and Lovecraftian Full Angel Form, becoming surrounded by disembodied eyes and engulfed in holy fire.
  • Cloudwalking: As an angel, Serenity can walk and even travel on clouds, using them as a mode of transportation.
  • Creation: Serenity can create seemingly anything she desires from nothing, almost instantly. While greeting a young winner at the pearly gates of Heaven, she materialized a crystal tiara out of light as a welcoming gift for the child. During a "therapy" session with the Exorcists, she created crystal balls from the memories of the Exorcists that displayed who they were before joining Heaven's military.
  • Enhanced Senses: Serenity can summon multiple eyes for herself, allowing her to see in different directions.
  • Fire Immunity: Serenity is immune to both natural and supernatural flames, since fire burns within all seraphim.
  • Flight: Serenity possesses six angelic wings that allow her to fly and hover in the air.
    • Interstellar Travel: Serenity is capable of faster-than-light travel using her wings, allowing her to fly and travel even at interstellar distances. While gathering stardust with Saint Peter, she and Peter were shown to be capable of easily keeping up with comets and shooting stars.
  • Pyrokinesis: As a seraph, Serenity can summon extremely powerful holy flames and meteorites, allowing her to rain fire and destruction if pushed to the point of rage. She is also immune to holy fire and can even consume herself in it or surround herself in a sphere of flames with no discomfort.

Unique Powers[]

  • Emotion Detection: As the angel of joy, Serenity is capable of sensing the emotions of other people. This allows her to seek out despondent souls in Heaven and brighten their day.
  • Energy Barrier Generation: Serenity can create a giant, holy energy barrier to protect herself and others from harm. During the War in Hell, her shield easily repelled an attack from Azreal's holy guitar and even redirected the attack back at the archangel which he barely dodged.
  • Joy Inducement: As the angel of joy, Serenity can induce joy in others, allowing her to keep the denizens of Heaven filled with joy and mirth.
  • Morality Sense: Serenity can sense the good and evil inside of everyone simply by putting her hand on them.
  • Multi-Directional Vision: Serenity can see in different directions when she opens her other angelic eyes.
  • Size-Shifting: In her Full Angel Form, Serenity can change her size at will to an unknown degree.
  • Supernatural Voice: Serenity's vocals are enhanced, allowing her to speak and especially sing at a supernatural level. This allows her to project her singing across Heaven in order to sing the praises of God and Heaven's leadership. Her singing can lift people's spirits, causing them to be joyful and even join her in the singing. She can also produce devastating shockwaves by screaming.

Abilities[]

  • Authority: As not only a seraphim princess, but the Head Seraph divinely ordained by Queen Asherah, Serenity has full power and authority over Heaven's seraphim order, which also gives her much sway over Heaven's hierarchy of power.
  • Charisma: Serenity has an endearing charm that endears people to her. Even Adina admits that she is very good at advertising Heaven and bringing new people to the holy kingdom.
  • Intimidation: Serenity is capable of scaring others by transforming into her eldritch Full Angel Form.
  • Musical Talents: Serenity is a supernaturally gifted singer, natural for a seraph, often leading musical numbers in the streets of Heaven. She can also play many instruments with masterful skill. She is also skilled at dancing as seen during the Celebration of God and her dance with Saint Peter at her ascension as the Head Seraphim.

Relationships[]

Family[]

Seraphiel[]

Seraphiel is Serenity's father. From the moment she was born, Seraphiel knew that Serenity would attempt to unite Heaven and Hell. Seraphiel and Serenity share a strong bond and exhibit striking similarities, as Serenity inherits Seraphiel's vibrant demeanor and open-minded attitude. At a certain juncture, Serenity fondly recalls Seraphiel referring to her as the "sun of Heaven". Though Serenity did not immediately understand what this meant, she came to realize that her father was telling her of her significance to Heaven's people despite her modest position within the royal lineage, and her ability to spread joy among all the people of Heaven.

Sera[]

Sera is Serenity's older sister and guardian. From Serenity's perspective, Sera is not only a guardian but also a mentor figure who sees her potential for greatness. Despite Serenity's struggles with discipline and occasional impulsiveness, Sera recognizes her inherent kindness and gentleness, qualities that she believes make Serenity capable of leadership and even royalty. Though their relationship can be wrought with disagreements, Serenity and Sera do love each other deeply.

While Serenity believes that her big sister, Sera, could benefit from a bit more flexibility in her demeanor, she holds great admiration for her. Serenity earnestly strives to impress Sera and earn her approval. Unfortunately, her efforts are frequently met with the chilly reception that Sera tends to give. This disheartening experience is compounded by Serenity's deep unease with the fact that her sister not only permits but also allows the annual cleanse to proceed. The stark contrast between Serenity's compassionate nature and Sera's coldness leaves a poignant impact on the younger angel.

Serenity frequently feels the weight of Sera's protective nature, often being scolded for her mistakes or rash decisions. While Serenity understands Sera's concerns and respects her guidance, she does not like being coddled and talked down to. Although they hold the esteemed title of Royal Seraphim, Sera and Serenity exhibit remarkably ordinary sibling dynamics. During times of strong disagreement, they frequently engage in heated exchanges, marked by screaming at each other as loud as they possibly can, eye rolls, slamming doors, and even pillow-screaming sessions. Nonetheless, amidst these clashes, their affection for one another remains steadfast. Despite facing notable familial challenges, their bond remains unshaken, showcasing an unwavering dedication to each other's happiness and welfare.

Their relationship underwent a significant shift during their mission to retrieve Heaven's Light from Hell, where Sera's perspectives on sinners evolve, leading to a reconciliation between the sisters. Sera comes to appreciate and support Serenity's mission to spread love and hope, recognizing her as a beacon of warmth and optimism capable of bridging divides. Together, they embark on a journey to heal and restore Heaven, united in their shared purpose and understanding.

Following the cancellation of the Extermination, Serenity and Sera seem more close than ever, with their interactions being more overtly supportive, loving, and even playful. Upon seeing Serenity ragged and anxious over being unable to tame the Exterminators, Sera sat down with her sister, giving Serenity ample time to rehabilitate them. While meeting Asherah together, Sera and Serenity showed a more playful aspect to their relationship; bonding over shared memories - especially those involving their father, who liked to play games with them when they were young - Serenity teased Sera about having more eyes than her, challenging her big sister to a competition to see who had more eyes, though Sera declined since they were in the Queen of Heaven's presence.

Allies[]

Mr. Tree[]

Mr. Tree is Serenity's friend. He is one of the Enchanted Forests' many living trees who the princess has been friends with for long. She often visits him, to which he magically grows a swing on his branches for her to swing and play on. She often goes to him for guidance whenever she becomes crestfallen.

Saint Peter[]

Serenity and Saint Peter share a very healthy friendship with each other, united in making winners feel welcome and keeping Heaven as peaceful as possible. Initially, Serenity excitedly partners with Peter in showcasing the celestial realm to the new winners of Heaven, emphasizing Heaven's beauty and freedom from worries. Serenity's presence adds a sense of joy and excitement to their journey through Heaven, and she appears to be a loyal and supportive ally to Peter. Beyond being the faces of the pearly gates, Serenity and Peter are friends who look out for and support each other.

Peter and Serenity's relationship evolves as they pledge their dedication to rectifying the problems afflicting Heaven, especially its apparently broken prayer system in which neither humans nor supernatural beings' prayers were being answered. They share a wistful duet expressing their determination to bring about positive change, with Peter highlighting his long-held hope for recognition in Heaven and his confidence in their ability to make a difference. Throughout their mission, Peter takes the lead, but Serenity stands by his side as a supportive partner, as shown by their holding hands as they prepare to tackle the challenges ahead.

Later, when Serenity stayed awake obsessing over solving the prayer problem and getting to its roots, Peter showed concern for Serenity, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder and advising her to take a break from her worries. Peter decided to take Serenity with him to fish and get her mind of things, introducing her to a hobby he has had since his Earth days. Serenity was excited for this new experience and eagerly joined him, though she discovered quickly that fishing was rather boring, which Peter had tried to warn her about, though she unexpectedly ended up catching a fish, which they release back into the water, leading Serenity to find the unexpected joy in fishing.

While retrieving a "secret ingredient" for Ms. Hartfelt, Serenity and Saint Peter traveled into outer space, exploring the wonders of the Universe together During their journey, Serenity showed unease and nervousness at first, fearing they could get lost, but Peter held her hands and emboldened her to venture further in the cosmos, with both of them collecting stardust while playing around like children in a cosmic playground. Later, upon returning to Ms. Hartfelt, Serenity and Saint Peter showed synergy upon revealing both of them had little cooking knowledge. They both stood together, wide-eyed and stiff as statues as Ms. Hartfelt enthusiastically took them into the kitchen, putting them in aprons and hats.

Charlie Magne[]

"The bridge between Heaven and Hell..."

Charlie is Serenity's bestie and practically her soul mate. Serenity and Charlie first met during a confrontation with Sera and Leo Lightheart as they embarked on a mission to retrieve Heaven's Light from Hell. Despite Charlie's infernal lineage as the princess of Hell, Serenity approached her eagerly, persuading Sera to allow Charlie to explain her acquisition of the Light of Heaven. Serenity steadfastly supported Charlie, assuring Sera that there must have been a valid, if not divine, reason for Charlie's possession of Heaven's Light.

As tensions eased, Serenity enthusiastically introduced herself to Charlie, sparking the rapid growth of their friendship as they became acquainted. During their burgeoning friendship, Charlie learned of Serenity's opposition to Heaven's annual cleanse, which filled her with excitement and quickly endeared Serenity to her, realizing they shared similar beliefs. Overwhelmed with emotion at such a high-ranking angel sharing the same opposition to the cleanse, Charlie embraced Serenity in a hug, declaring her as her "new friend for life," causing Serenity to giggle and rub cheeks with Charlie. In return, Serenity expressed gratitude for finding someone who also questioned the extreme measures of Heaven's Extermination, promising to arrange an audience with Metatron to support Charlie against any opposition.

Following the cancellation of the Extermination, Serenity still found herself drawn to Charlie. She gifted the Princess of Hell with a crystal ball that allowed them to communicate when Serenity had to return to Heaven, allowing her to keep in touch with the princess even after leaving Hell to see her progress on redemption. However, when Charlie stopped answering her calls (due to the prophesied apocalypse in Hell unfolding, unbeknownst to Serenity), Serenity obsessively tried to communicate with Charlie, missing their frequent interactions and anxious about the sudden lack of communication. Serenity expressed concern that Charlie might be upset with something she did or perceive her as overly clingy.

To Saint Peter, Serenity confessed her crush for Charlie and revealed her admiration for Charlie's potential, kindness, and determination, particularly regarding her efforts to make a difference in Hell through the hotel project. Saint Peter reassured Serenity, suggesting to her that Charlie was likely busy with her responsibilities as the princess of Hell and still values Serenity.

Vaggie[]

When Vaggie was in Limbo, Serenity vouched for Vaggie to be sent to Heaven, believing that Vaggie's virtues outweighed her sins and that she was an otherwise kind soul who was a victim of her father's misdeeds.

Seeing Vaggie in Hell during her, Sera and Leo Lightheart's mission to find Heaven's Light is what opened Serenity's eyes to Azrael's corruption in addition to Serenity eavesdropping on Vaggie's conversation with Ebony about her time as an Exorcist and learning about all of the horrible treatment Vaggie endured.

During the War in Hell, Serenity saved Vaggie and Charlie from being wiped out by an attack from Azrael.

Tory[]

Serenity and Tory share a warm and supportive relationship. Serenity is always delighted to see Tory and greets him with a hug, expressing her belief in his potential to be a guardian angel despite his current status as a messenger. Tory, though bashful about not yet being promoted, appreciates Serenity's encouragement and faith in his future success. Their interactions are affectionate and encouraging, with Serenity promising that Tory will eventually become a guardian angel, just as she has progressed in her role as a princess.

At one point, Tory expressed a desire to be Serenity's guardian angel, showing his protective nature and willingness to support her despite his young age, even attempting karate moves to demonstrate his readiness, although he clumsily fell. Serenity gracefully helped him up and reassured Tory that while she believes he will be an amazing guardian angel, he doesn't need to defend her because she is stronger than she appears and capable of handling challenges on her own.

During Serenity and Peter's battle against Fitch and Adina, Tory heroically sacrificed himself to shield Serenity from a deadly attack, seemingly dying in the process. This act of selflessness deeply affected Serenity, bringing her to tears as she cradled his body and flew him away to safety, heartbroken by his seeming loss.

In the aftermath of the fight, Serenity, heartbroken, kneeled beside what she believe was Tory's lifeless body, devastated by his self-sacrifice. As she mourns him, Tory - barely conscious, blinded, and gravely injured - spoke weakly, revealing that his motivation for protecting her was because she always believed in him. Serenity's shock quickly turns to relief upon realizing he's still alive, and she tenderly reassures him, stroking his broken shell and offering comfort.

Afterward, Asherah honors Tory's sacrifice by transforming him into a guardian angel. Serenity, overjoyed by Tory's revival and newfound status, embraces him, reaffirming her faith in him and the strength of their relationship.

Enemies[]

Adina[]

Serenity and Adina have a initially complex, later antagonistic relationship. Beneath their mutual displays of civility lies a deep-rooted aversion towards each other, particularly from Serenity, who dislikes Adina due to her attitude towards sinners. Despite Adina's efforts to cozy up to Serenity through sickeningly sweet praise, the young Seraphim princess remains impervious to her overt flattery.

While Serenity typically exudes warmth towards others, her demeanor towards Adina is notably reserved and guarded, immune to the charms the chieftess employs and generally wanting to be away from Adina as much as she can. Even amidst Adina's persistent attempts to win her favor through excessive praise, Serenity maintains a deliberate distance and retains her composed demeanor. At one point, when Saint Peter told Serenity to be polite around Adina, Serenity sarcastically hints that she has had to be like this towards Adina for a long time.

Furthermore, Adina's interactions with Serenity clearly display unease and insecurity on her part. This is notably evident in her abrupt and somewhat defensive response when Serenity nearly discovers one of the concealed prayers Adina harbors. Although Adina swiftly recovers her composure and offers an explanation for her actions, there lingers a palpable suggestion that she harbors secrets she is reluctant to reveal.

Even after Adina tried to quell Serenity's thoughts, the seraphim princess still remained convinced that Adina had a hand in Heaven's prayer issue. Upon discovering that Adina and her partner Fitch had been kidnapping sinners, torturing them into praying for mercy only to kill them and siphon their prayers, Serenity erupted and grew to despise Adina for her corruption. She learned the depths of Adina's a corruption, calling her worse than the sinners she persecutes, accusing her of crimes and standing firmly against her methods. Adina, on the other hand, mocked Serenity's ideals and dismissed her as naive and childish.

During the final battle, Serenity attempted to reach Adina on an emotional level, digging into her past and reminding her that her prayers to erase sin were truly driven by her fear of being alone and her pain from loss. Serenity tried to show Adina that her true desire was not vengeance, but never feeling alone and having a family again, something Serenity's family fulfilled when they brought her in following the war in Heaven. However, Adina rejected Serenity's understanding, laughing bitterly and accusing Serenity of being privileged and blind to real suffering.

Serenity mourned Adina's death along with Sera.

Fitch[]

Despite sharing little in the way of interactions, Serenity and Fitch have a antagonistic relationship. Still, when she had the chance to speak with him in the final fight, Serenity attempted to engage him in conversation while casually dodging his attacks, using playful remarks, despite Fitch's aggressive and dismissive attitude. Fitch clearly viewed Serenity with disdain, suggesting Adina to kill her for her potential interference, referring to her as a "six-wing-ed louse" and trying to personally kill her numerous times. Her playful nature contrasted and bounced off of Fitch's seriousness, which just further irritated him.

Others[]

Lucifer Magne[]

Serenity is Lucifer's successor as the angel of joy. Serenity is very much aware of Lucifer and heavily dislikes being compared to him. She sees being compared to him as insulting, as she genuinely cares for the souls in Heaven, while he used his position as angel of joy to elevate himself and demand worship from all winners.

Despite having never met the fallen prince personally (and not having any desire to), Lucifer's actions casted a shadow on Serenity; she was kept out of important matters due to Sera’s fear that she might end up like Lucifer if given a similar amount of power. This not only limited Serenity's influence, but also subtly reinforced the idea that her ambition could lead her down the same destructive path. This likely bred resentment, as she would feel unfairly judged and restrained for actions she never intended to take.

At her lowest point in Purgatory, Serenity was tormented by self-doubt and the voices of Heaven reminding her of Lucifer's fall, which she perceives as her own trajectory. When "Lucifer" - or a version of him conjured by "Purgatory shenanigans" - appears, he represent not only the embodiment of her deepest fears but also a distorted reflection of her own disillusionment with Heaven.

This version of "Lucifer" is sarcastic, dismissive, and manipulative, attempting to break Serenity down by drawing parallels between their experiences—both were held to seemingly unrealistically high expectations, and both faced crushing disappointment as a result of Heaven's flaws. He mocked Serenity, undermined her self-worth, and presented Heaven as inherently broken, claiming that her fall is inevitable because of her high ideals, just like his. Through visions of her past, "Lucifer" tried to convince Serenity that she was conditioned to blindly support Heaven's system, reducing her role to a mere mascot who upheld its facade of perfection and played into Heaven's hand. He claimed that her dream of uniting Heaven and Hell was futile, likening it to his own failed rebellion.

Despite these efforts to sway her, Serenity rejected ultimately "Lucifer's" perspective. While she acknowledges that Heaven has many flaws and that some of what "Lucifer" says is true, she ultimately maintained her belief that Heaven can be improved and that unification between Heaven and Hell was possible. Despite the pain and disappointment she's experienced, Serenity continued to cling on to her love for Heaven, not out of blind loyalty to its system but because she feels a responsibility to the souls who deserve true peace.

Quotes[]

Chapter 5[]

"Serenity: (the pearly gates bell rings) OH, BOY! Newcomers! (she flies over to the pearly gates' entrance, which opens to reveal a single child; Serenity sprouts into the air above them with her eyes closed, producing confetti) WELLLLCOOOME TOOO HEAVEN!!! YOU'RE GONNA LOVE IT HERE! (she opens her eyes) Oh... Oh, gosh, you're much too young. (she descends to the ground and kneels to their level) Hello there, sweetie! I'm Princess Serenity of Halo City, and I'm so excited to meet you! What's your name? How old are ya?
Harp: M- My name is Harp. I'm seven... T- Tomorrow was gonna be my birthday...
Serenity: (she frowns) Oh... Oh, I'm so sorry, honey...
Harp: Do you know where my mommy is?
Serenity: I... I couldn't say...
Harp: W- What about my friends...?
Serenity: I... Couldn't say. Oh, but I'm certain you'll make lotsa new friends here, kiddo! Everyone here is so friendly and kind! It'll be no problemo!
Harp: ...Am I safe here?
Serenity: Sweetie, this is the safest place in all creation! Absolutely no worries!
Harp: (she looks back at the gates) Are there any more people coming...?
Serenity: ...Y'know, Harp, there used to be so many souls coming through those gates, me and Saint Peter would get overwhelmed trying to greet them all! But, one day, something happened and, even though it's absolutely amazing to finally get to know all of you personally, everything's gotten so samey and... Small since then. 'Things change'. That's what my sister, Sera, says. But, one day, I'm gonna change that, and more people will be blessed with the light of Heaven! (she materializes a crystal tiara for Harp and places it on the child's head) And when that happens, you'll get even more friends. Bunches and bunches. I promise. (she winks) Happy early birthday, by the way.
"
— Serenity greeting a young winner.
"Azrael: Hiya, girls!
Serenity: (she frowns at seeing Azrael and her halo flickers) H-Hey, Azrael...
Sera: (to Serenity, hushed) Serenity... (she bows her head to Azrael) Hello, Archangel Azrael. How goes the arrangements for the Extermination this year?
Azrael: (he yawns) Ooh, I dunno. Lute's on it. I'm thinkin' of having a gig or two up in Charity. Gotta keep the hype going, y'know what I mean? Oh, yeah and, uh- (a cherub flies down and hands Azrael a glowing scroll which he gives to Serenity) Sugar Tits, I need ya to fly this over to Pete.
Serenity: (she reads over it) Are these...new rules for saints?
Azrael: Ay, you know me. I'm not a rules guy! But... fucking pineapple on pizza? Eugh! That's so- That should be a CARDINAL sin, y'know? Write that on a motherfucking stone.
Serenity: I just think some of the new regulations are really, really strict... You know, for a place that's supposed to be a paradise, it's pretty boring around here sometimes. Wouldn't you like to see just a bit of excitement? Diversity is the spice of life, you know, and everything here is so.... samey.
Azrael: (he groans and begins tuning his guitar) Ah, shit. Sera, would you do the honors?
Sera: (to Serenity) Heaven is a place of peace and joy for those of noble character. This is not a playground for your amusement, Serenity... Perhaps there is some wisdom to what you are saying, but the only excitement that we of Heaven need is that which we gain from serving God and spreading the light of his glory. But tell me, what do you propose to solve our diversity problem?
Serenity: Maaaybe we could make it easier again for souls to enter Heaven? It feels like our standards have gone up to wazo and we only get so few saints a day... Maybe Hell wouldn't have such a horrible overpopulation problem if we just... Made the road to Heaven easier? (to Azrael) And, Archangel Azrael, I don't wanna upset you or anything, but... I don't really understand the cleanse.
Azrael: (picking his teeth with the holy knife in the head of his guitar) What's there to understand? Sinners did a bad thing, now it's purgin' time; pretty simple shit.
Serenity: (her wings briefly flare up) N- No... No, it's not like that. Sinners can repent, they can make changes, they can find virtue and deserve a chance!
Azrael: Whoa! Whoa! Hold your fucking horses, sugar tits! Where the fuck is this coming from?! Sinners don't deserve anything but the heads of our spears. Have you forgotten your place? You're supposed to stand there, look pretty, and smile and wave. (Azrael points at the Morningstar crest on his wall) You see this symbol? I decide what's cool and what's not. And sinning is most certainly NOT cool.
Serenity: I... I can't just accept that... They're still human! They deserve a chance... They... (her words trail off, her thoughts getting all jumbled) S- Sinning is not always a choice... I- It's more complex than black and white...
Sera: (she makes Serenity face her) Serenity! (she stares menacingly at her startled sister before softening up and putting both hands on Serenity's shoulders) We've been over this... I am open to the notion of lowering our standards, but there are no 'noble demons'. (laughs slightly) What even is that? A demon's very existence is unholy and evil. You'd be wise to take note; It would do you no good to be caught with these thoughts.
Serenity: (pulls away from Sera) The only evil I see is what we've been allowing the Heavenly Host to do to their kind. You are willing to let demons be slaughtered by our own soldiers by the billions in Hell every year, even the ones who have done no wrong! There could be sinners and demons who just got a bad deal and rotten luck, and yet you think we should leave them be killed? Don't you see who the real monsters are?
Sera: (enraged) How dare you! You are the one who wants to forgive the unforgivable,to allow monsters to enter our kingdom! This is why you are not ready to take responsibility! I refuse to let you allow evil to infect the heavens! And if you think we should allow that... Then perhaps you don't belong here.
Serenity: (on the verge of tears) YOU'RE SUCH A JERK, SERA!!! (flies away, bawling into her hands; Sera shows a hint of guilt on her face for a couple seconds before silently resuming her duties)
Azrael: (laughing) Hah! What the fuck was that? What an emotional wreck! (he snorts as Sera give him a deadpan expression) How can that little labkin be your fucking sister? Oh, man, that was hilarious! She's worse than that Chodey Foster c**t. Like, cry me a river, bitch.
Sera: That 'emotional wreck' is my sister; and she's an excellent girl who deserves the utmost respect. She's still quite young, and she'll learn to see our purpose with time. Do you not hold the same thoughts of your son?
Azrael: My 'SON'?! (Azrael laughs) You mean Azuriel, I assume? Psh, he ain't my son. Nope, until he learns how to rain sweet holy lightning from an electric guitar, he's just a little runt I'm stuck with. He's a whinin', cryin' little bitch, he ain't nothing but a hound dog, honestly. Sometimes I wish I had a daughter instead... Because it'd be more satisfying to beat her if she talked back! HAHAHAHA!!! (Azrael looks at the Exorcists) LAUGH!!!! (he continues laughing loudly as the Exorcists awkwardly chuckle in response)
"
— The Seraphim sisters meeting with Azrael.
"Young winner: You lied! You said He would show up!
Serenity: (she sighs and kneels down to face level) I'm so sorry, sweetie... (she hugs the little girl tightly, smiling softly) There's always next year, though, right...? (the little girl sadly walks away, leaving Serenity sulking on her knees; Serenity is soon approached by Sera, who looks down at her)
Sera: (stoically) ...You didn't listen.
Serenity: I- I know, It's just...
Sera: Why would you get their hopes up, even when you knew the outcome deep down. ...This is why you aren't ready.
Serenity: (with tears in her eyes, she looks down; voice breaking) ...I'm sorry.
Sera: You can't just... (she sighs, her expression softening) ...One day. One day, you will be ready. You need to discipline yourself. (she gently helps her sister to her feet) Learn from this, Serenity. ...Come now, Heaven needs us.
Serenity: ...Ok.
"
— Serenity's disappointment after the Celebration of God.
"Serenity: Wha- what happened here? (her voice quivers, fighting back tears)
Leo Lightheart: Well, I'm no Benjamin Brainiac, but it looks like their town was destroyed!
Serenity: What kind of monsters would do such a thing?! I- We need to do something... We can't just let those people suffer!
Sera They're demons, Serenity, not 'people'. Heaven needs us, Serenity. We are here to find the Light of Heaven, not give insignificant creatures of sin the benefit of the doubt. If we start, where does it end? I'll tell you; You'll end up like Lucifer; fallen.
Serenity: (to Sera) Those are people's lives, their homes! Everything they spent years and years building, only for some monster that swooped in an took everything they ever had! It's not faiiirrr! (begins sobbing) I want to help them so bad...
Sera: And what will that lead to? Them taking advantage of your kindness before stabbing you in the back?
Serenity: I don't care if they take advantage of my kindness! If it means I can help them, I will. We're angels, protecting people in need is literally my job! (sniffles) Do we at least know what did this to them?
Leo Lightheart: (looks at the soil) Hmmm... (dips his finger in a puddle and licks it, tasting it thoroughly) Saltwater... A flood is my guess. Some big ol' snake that crawled outta the depths of Hades started a big ol' flood, killing every man, woman, and child who couldn't get to safety. Then the looters came through. These demons never stood a chance...
Serenity: (tears streaming down her face) H- How could they do this? Some monster just killed these people, destroyed lives, and then looters just kicked them while they're down for... For what?! Just so that they could have some stupid resources for themselves that they probably don't even need? What kind of monsters would do such a horrible thing to people who never hurt them?
Sera: Demons. Life has no value to demons. Their only purpose is to spread death and suffering, even to their own kind. This is just one of millions, if not billions examples of their evil. If they are so heartless to their own kind, how do you expect them to treat us, their natural enemy?
Serenity: ...Just because there's lives destroyed like this one, that means we're supposed to do nothing? We aren't their enemy? Why do you always think things should be the same?!
Sera: Serenity-
Serenity: If we don't do something, then it will only make things worse!!! (flies towards the town)
Sera: SERENITY! (whispering) Oh, fuck me... (facepalms and rubs her temples)
"
— Serenity and Sera's argument.
"Serenity: (she sees Charlie's Angels and gasps) Oh... my... (stars appear in her eyes) GOSH!!! (she flies towards the children at an intense velocity) BABIIIIIES!!! (she scoops up all the children in her arms, hugging and nuzzling them)
Manco: P- Princess Serenity?!
Arthur: (to Manco) You know who she is?!
Sera: (to Charlie) Are those children? Children of virtue... In Hell?
Charlie: (she chuckles nervously) It's... a long story.
Simon: (gasping for air) She's... squeezing us to double death...
Serenity: (she gasps and gently drops the children) Oh, my goodness, I'm so sorry!
"
— Serenity meets Charlie's Angels.
"Charlie: (she gasps deeply) You hate the cleanse, too?! (her eyes sparkle)
Serenity: I mean... Hate is such a strong word, but... Yes! Actually, I do! I think that Hell and all its residents are capable of redemption... and that we should extend our olive branch of mercy, not a... flaming sword of judgment.
Charlie: (Charlie has tears in her eyes and holds Serenity's hands as they spin around together) YOU ARE MY FRIEND FOR LIIIIIFE!!!!
Serenity: (she giggles excitedly, both she and Charlie spreading their angelic wings to fly up in unison) Aww, shucks, sweetie, really, it's no problem! I wanna help in any way I can, to bring Heaven to Hell and, well... everywhere, you know?
Charlie: (she has stars in her gasps and gasps, whispering) that's what i've been trying to do.
Serenity: Y'know? I thought I was alone in... Questioning things. Like, I was a weirdo for wanting to stand up against the cleanse. Not a lot of people in Heaven seems to be as bothered by it as I am and the ones that were... fell. I'm just glad I'm not alone anymore!
Charlie: You have no idea how this means to me... To have like-minded people on the other side... You could be such a help to me! I mean, the other angels would probably listen to an angel more than a demon, right?
Serenity: (she smiles, her wings glowing) I... I think you're right... I mean, I AM higher-ranked up in Heaven - even if it's just a position as a gate sentry. I'll have to talk to my sister, Sera. She's one of the biggest believers that the cleanse should be continued, but maybe with enough voices from both sides, I can make an argument? It won't be easy, but we can take on anything together! What do ya say... Char Char?
Charlie: I say... Let's go cancel us a motherfuckin' cleanse!
"
— Serenity and Charlie.
"There are sinners who are just really, really bad. Super duper bad. But I've got a lot of faith in people! Even if they can't be saved or redeemed... I think everyone deserves mercy, no matter who they are or what they've done. We all deserve mercy, right?"
— Serenity.
"Serenity: Whenever people feel sad or hopeless, I want them to know that they're loved. One time, Dad said that I'm the sun of Heaven. I don't really understand what that means... But I like to think that it means I shine bright, right?
Sera: (she nods and smiles, taking Serenity's hands) Your light shines brightly, indeed, dearest sister. To be considered the sun of Heaven... what an extraordinary gift. I now see why father saw you as a beacon of warmth and hope to unite Heaven and Hell. It is your soul's mission in life to spread hope and happiness, to remind people that even in the darkest times, Heaven is with them. Keep shining bright, and may all who are downcast be warmed by your light. Come... We have much to repair up in Heaven.
"
— Serenity and Sera while returning to Heaven.

Holy Hell[]

"Sera: Angels are the guardians, warriors and messengers of goodness. We are made from the same matter that all celestial beings are forged from - pure Light.
Serenity: And star dust! Don't forget! Lotsa star dust!
Sera: Serenity...
Serenity: S- Sorry! Sorry.
Sera: Ahem... We are all children of God and Asherah, and as such, we serve as conduits between their will and humanity...
Serenity: My turn? Ahem-... We live in harmony and peace and dedicate ourselves to guiding human souls to Heaven! For in Heaven, every soul will live in grace, compassion, and mirth.
"
— Sera and Serenity in the opening narration of Holy Hell.
"Tory: Y'know, Serenity... maybe I could be your guardian angel! I know sometimes you get push-back just because you believe sinners can change. If anyone gives you trouble, I'll touch down and be like 'leave my friend alone'! (he does karate moves, during which he attempts and backflip kick only to land on the back of his shell, his wings stuck under his shell; he futilely kicks to try and get back upright) Oh, fiddlesticks...
Serenity: (she giggles, flying forward and gently taking Tory by his hand and flying backward to get him back upright, gracefully landing on her knees) You alright?
Tory: (he sighs) Yeah, just my pride... Is my shell scratched?
Serenity: (she looks intently at his shell) Hmm... nope!
Tory: Woo! That's a relief...
Serenity: You're gonna be an amazing guardian angel one day, Tory. But don't you ever, EVER feel like you have to defend me, okay? I'm much stronger than I look, and if anyone ever tries to mess with me, I can handle it alone. Besides, I have plenty of angels looking out for me. I know there's a lotta souls out there that could use a shell to lean on!
"
— Serenity and Tory.
"Serenity: (she excitedly exits God's Kingdom with Nick, wearing a blue hat with a halo design on the front and plush angel wings on the side) Oh. My. GOSH!! (she flies around Nick for a moment) That was sooooo much FUN!!! God's Kingdom really is the happiest place in Heaven! (she sighs, before looking over at Nick) When we rode The Ark, I was like 'eeeee'!!! And you were like (she makes an exaggerated bored expression with a slouched jaw, moaning like a zombie). Didja get any pictures?
Nick: (with a miserable expression, holding a balloon made to look like God's head) No.
Serenity: (her happy expression deflates like a balloon) I'm gonna make you joyful soul yet, Nick! Y'know, many angels in Heaven would give their halos to have my position and get a shot at bringing you joy! That's how special you are....
Nick: Serenity, believe me. No one in Heaven envies your job position.
Serenity: Oh... (she giggles cheerfully) Goodness, I'd hope not! That's one of the seven deadly sins!
"
— Serenity and Nick exiting God's Kingdom.
"Sera: (she and Serenity approach Asherah; Sera bows her head) Great Mother, it is our honor to be gifted with your pres-
Serenity: (she squeals, walking up to Asherah ahead of Sera and curtsying) G- Great Mother!!! Hi!!! I'm Serenity! Goodness, it's so see you again!!!
Sera: (hushed, anxious) Serenity...
Asherah: (Asherah raises her hand politely with a soft smile, as if she's almost hurt by Sera's need for formality) Sera, my sweetling.. There's no such need for formalities. You may both call me Asha. (Asherah reaches into her hair and plucks two golden roses out from her strands, placing them in Sera and Serenity's hair, curtsying back at them) Seeing the royal Seraphim Sisters is nothing short of a joy. My dear daughters, who've grown into such wonderful things. So beatific, yet so different...
Serenity: (she giggles) Shucks, thank you, Asha! Yeah, we have our differences, but that's a good thing, no? Sera's the Head Seraphim who keeps everything safe and peaceful, and I'm the joy bringer that keeps everyone (hands in the air) joyfullll!!! I think we compliment one another perfectly!
Sera: (she seems deeply touched by Serenity's words, putting a reassuring hand on Serenity's shoulder) That we can both agree on, Serenity. (to Asherah) And it's an honor for us to be in your presence, Your-I mean... (strained, as if being informal physically pains her) A-shaaa... I've heard you were a woman of lovely and gentle nature, but seeing you in person, I can see the rumors weren't doing you enough justice.
Asherah: (Asherah blushes, additional roses blooming in her hair) Oh, my stars! (laughing, she looks over to nearby Ophanim who are guarding her) Guards! Do something about these sweet-talkers! (Sera looks to the Ophanim with a wide-eyed expression) They're killing me with kindness! (she continues laughing as Sera settles down; Asherah affectionately pinches Serenity's cheeks)
Serenity: (she giggles) Oh, stop it! Stop! Tee-hee! (Sera just watches this unfold, feeling out-of-place)
"
— The Seraphim sisters and Asherah.
"Asherah: (cut back to Asherah and the Seraphim sisters; Serenity is giggling uncontrollably as Asherah is repeatedly tossing her in the air and catching her; Sera keeps looking on awkwardly) Where have you been in all my aeons of existence, sweet pea? Oh, I must stop now, before I can't help myself! (she sets Serenity down next to Sera) I now see why Seraphiel talks about you two darlings all the time at the Empyrean. Seriously, he's shared everything! (Asherah whispers to Sera mischievously) Even your cherub pictures, Sera, when you were just an eye with one wing.
Serenity: (she laughs as Sera has a "WTF", embarrassed expression on her face) Ooooh!
Sera: Um- Ahem, I... remember those days, he would try to put on... 'onesie' on me. He'd say that even a giant eye needs baby clothes. It would end up looking like he just draped a giant cloth on my head though. He also liked to play... peek and seek with me. (she smiles) He'd show me his eyes and I'd show him mine.
Serenity: (to Sera) Remember when Dad would get you to play that with me when I was a baby seraph? I don't mean to brag, buuuut... (she slyly says to Asherah) I had more eyes.
Sera: (she scoffs playfully) Eyes that I was willing to show...
Serenity: (playfully nudges Sera) You sure about that? Wanna have an 'eye off'?
Sera: Serenity, not in front of the Queen...
Serenity: (with a playfully smug smile) That's what I thought!
"
— Asherah and the Seraphim sisters.
"Serenity: Oh, my goodness... (smiling brightly, she curtsies to Gabriel) Gabriel, hi!!!
Gabriel: Ah, you must be the radiant, Serenity! Seraphiel goes on and on and on about you! How goes it? (Gabriel smiles warmly and high-fives Serenity)
Serenity: (she squeals excitedly) I'm doing great! I just can't wait to get started with my work, you know? I want to help as many people as I can, and you know, do good. I feel like we've been really making a difference... but there's one thing that's bothering me.
Gabriel: And what's that, sweetie? You tell me what's got your wings in a tangle and I'll KILL IT! ... (he smiles) With kindness. Obviously.
Serenity: Well... you know about the Extermination, right?
Gabriel: (he nods solemnly) Yes, of course. (he looks out a window) That was one of Michael's 'brilliant' ideas. Though, I HAVE heard rumor of its cancellation.
Serenity: Well, yes! ...But if we can't prove that redemption is a good alternative to just destroying souls, Adina said she's gonna reinstate the cleanse!
Gabriel: Ah, I've heard of Adina. (he does the "cuckoo finger swirl" with a whistle before chuckling) Eh, don't tell her I did that. Let's just say she's made quite the reputation for herself.
Serenity: (she sighs) I don't know... But Gabriel, why does it have to be so awful? Why can't we all just try to reform them? Why can't we try to bring light to the sinners' spirits? People deserve second chances, third chances, fourth chances, even! I thought Heaven was supposed to be a safe place for love and light... I thought that was the whole idea...
Gabriel: (he puts both hands on Serenity's shoulders) What you are saying is true. And the fact that sinners are only given one chance bothers me as well... they have the potential to change their ways! I know there's a little bit of good inside sinners, even if they do drugs and have premarital sex! Sinners are people... no different than you, me, and our Father. The ugly truth is that the cleanse serves a purpose... But, in my opinion, that's why we need bright and beautiful angels like you who think outside the system and find greater solutions, such as redemption.
Serenity: (she smiles and wipes tears from her eyes) Thank you, Gabriel. That's so good to hear coming from you. But what about Adina... do you think one day, she'll understand that what we're doing is wrong? She never really gives me much of an answer... She only says that it's the "way of the Lord." Will I ever have it in me to convince her?
Gabriel: That, my dear, I doubt. Adina is what we call a few eggs short of an omelette. Off her rails... Batshit crazy. And if she genuinely thinks she's an example of what a 'pure' and 'holy' person should be like... then... I don't think there's any hope at all for her. Not at this point... But nevermind her. Redemption is something we have to fight for, (he flexes) and I say LET'S THROW DOWN!!! You have to focus on your dreams and hold them close, not let people like Adina stomp on them! ...Y'know, unless that dream is something uncool, like world domination or putting a paywall over a newspaper that doesn't even have funnies, which is ridic on it's own...
Serenity: (she giggles) Don't worry, Gabe, I knew what you meant. (she hesitates for a bit before hugging Gabriel) Thanks, Gabe. I really needed to hear this...
Gabriel: (he seems surprised at first, before smiling warmly and returning Serenity's hug) Any time, kiddo.
"
— Gabriel and Serenity.
"Saint Peter: (Serenity sits on a couch, obsessively checking her crystal ball, trying to communicate with Charlie; getting impatient, she moans sadly, changing sitting positions on the couch while waiting - sideways, backwards, and upside down before returning to a normal position; Saint Peter struts into the room) Serenityyy~!
Serenity: (droning, not taking her eyes off the crystal ball) Heey, Peterrrr...
Saint Peter: (he sees her looking at the crystal ball) Oh... you're still on that thing, huh?
Serenity: (she huffs while setting the crystal ball at the end table) Sorry, it's just... Charlie used to speak with me all the time after me, Sera and Leo left, but now... ziltch. (Serenity sets her head on the armrest, looking at the crystal ball like a sad puppy, her other angel eyes staring at the ball as well)
Saint Peter: Well, Serenity, she's the princess of Hell! I'm sure she's out there, doing... Princess of Hell things... She's a busy bee, makin' the world a better place, like you and me!
Serenity: But... Peter... what if she doesn't like me anymore? Did I do something wrong? (she speaks in an increasingly panicked tone) Did I leave Hell too early? Am I trying to contact her TOO much and she thinks I'm some sorta creepy stalker?!
Saint Peter: Whoa, whoa, whoa! (he chuckles and sits next to Serenity, holding Serenity's hand to calm her) You, uh... really like her, huh?
Serenity: (her eyes widen; she smiles and blushes at the thought of Charlie) I mean... Yeah. Charlie's amazing. It's just... ever since I was a cherub, I always wanted to meet someone who-... Someone who didn't make me feel alone in thinking that things could be different. I really think she has potential, and her ideas about the hotel... I really think it could work and we could change things TOGETHER! And even besides that, she's so kind and earnest, and so gosh-darned CUTE! (she blushes heavily and covers her mouth in shock) Oh, my goodness, I'm sorry! Was that too much?
Saint Peter: (he laughs) Serenity, I'm certain she feels the same way about you. Having ideas like hers while you're in the most hopeless place ever can't be easy. You must've been a breath of fresh, heavenly air to her. Don't worry. She'll get back to ya. I mean, you think WE have it hard? She's got a gazillion gremlins to look after and keep from burning the whole place down!
Serenity: (she giggles and smiles warmly) Yeah... yeah, you're right... (she glances at the crystal ball one last time) I'll... let her have some space.
Saint Peter: (he nods) In the meantime... (he flies up) Let's hop to it! Ms. Hartfelt needs us at her restaurant!
Serenity: (she perks up) Ms. Hartfelt! Oh, boy! ...Isn't Hartfelt Foods having an anniversary dinner?
Saint Peter: You bet! And guess what?! (excited) She said we'd get all the gumbo we could ask for if we did a favor for her!
"
— Serenity and Saint Peter.
"Serenity: Gosh... So this is the Universe, huh? (she gasps upon looking at Peter, before cackling with laughter) p-Peter, your hair!
Saint Peter: (his hair is on all ends due to the zero gravity; he playfully frowns and shakes his head) Harrumph! You're one to talk! Looked in the mirror lately? (Serenity stops laughing and looks up to see her hair floating due to the gravity as well; she and Peter both laugh over this) Ha! It's so much bouncier here! (he flies around at high speed)
Serenity: (she outstretches her hand) Ooh, Peter be careful!
Saint Peter: Serenity! I- I- I'm chasing a star! (he practically squawks with laughed)
Serenity: (she giggles at Peter's antics) That does look really fun...
Saint Peter: (he swoops in and taking Serenity by the hands) Let's go!
Serenity: (she looks apprehensive, her wings tensing up) Oh, but Peter... I've- I've never flown in... space before! What if we get lost or something happens?
Saint Peter: (while holding her hands with a reassuring smile) Hey... Don't worry. I got ya...
Serenity: (trusting Peter, Serenity flaps her wings as both of them soar together through the cosmic sea, flying past comets and stars; Serenity is entranced by the beauty of the Universe; it's like an infinite playground to them; her eyes sparkling, she literally reaches her hand into a star which she and Peter are flying by, watching twinkles whimsically trail off the star from her hand's contact; she giggles) Peter, This. Is. AMAZING!
Saint Peter: (he is literally juggling balls of stardust) Isn't it wonderful?! (he throws the balls in the air, watching them softly light up above them; Peter flies while in a relaxed, kicked-back pose) It's like... (he gazes at the celestial space around them) The universe... is just so infinite. There's just so... much to explore. (he shakes his head) What a great, big gift all of this is, right?
Serenity: (she flies beside him, smiling softly) Y- Yeah... It really is incredible. But, I... I'm just really glad I got to see this. Especially with you.
Saint Peter: (he looks at Serenity in surprise, before smiling warmly) Right back atcha, kiddo. (he holds his fist out for a fist-bump, which Serenity reciprocates)
"
— Serenity and Peter bonding by flying through space.
"Adina: Oh, sorry, am I interrupting? (Adina chuckles as Fitch appears behind behind her) Go ahead, don't let me slow you down! Smash some fine china, desecrate the rugs while you're at it. (She titters) Princess, if you wanted to see lil' ol' me, you could have just asked politely...
Serenity: (She looks at Adina, fire in her pupils) Save it. I KNOW what you've been doing, Adina.
Adina: Oh? No 'Chieftess'? Not even a 'Your Honor'? (She rubs her brow) The younger generation and their lack of respect... (Her grin returns) Alrighty, Serenity, I'll play along. Just what have I done? (She looks at Fitch) Keeping our kingdom safe? (Fitch nods) Preserving our angelic purity? (Fitch nods) Tossing out the leeches, bandits, and other uglies? (Fitch nods; Adina grins and faces Serenity) Well, would you look at that! Looks like I need not be reminded of my good nature and deeds! (Hurriedly) Thank you! Byeeee-
Serenity: BE QUIET!!! ...You really think you can get away with your crimes, don't you?! (Fire appears in Serenity's eyes as her flapping wings elevate her above Adina and Fitch) You think that you're above the law?! Kidnapping human souls - good-natured people - from Hell and torturing them in our own (voice breaking) paradise... You are more corrupt than the sinners you purge! You may think I'm a lowly seraph, but my word is true!
Adina: Ohohohoho! (She turns to Fitch) Fitch! It seems we have a little sinner-hugger in our midst! (She turns back to Serenity) Good-hearted sinners, you say? You think the sinners of Hell, the same ones who are driven by desire for greed, lust, and power, y'know, the ones that are hellbent on perverting our way of life... (She laughs) You believe those beings can be good at heart?!
Serenity: OF COURSE I DO! Everyone can be good, as long as they're given the chance and time! I may be young, but I still know what is right, and you and your... Cronie are the ones in the wrong! (Fitch, offended, sneers at Serenity) Redemption is a beautiful thing, and you are TAKING THAT CHANCE FROM THEM BEFORE THEY CAN SEE THE LIGHT!!!
Adina: (Adina continues chuckling mockingly, speaking to Serenity as if talking to a toddler) You're embarrassing yourself! Thrashing around and throwing a tantrum over little sinners! Are you really going to risk falling from Heaven over grotesque Hellspawn?
Serenity: YES, I WILL!!! (Serenity screamed as loud as she could; transforming into her Full Angel Form, a wave of holy fire being flown through the room, though Fitch and Adina are unscratched)
Fitch: Oof. Someone went through puberty.
Adina: (She paces methodically) ...It's no wonder you got along with the half-breed demon princess. You're both just little children. Playing pretend until reality strikes, crushes your fantasies, and puts you in timeout. (Her grin widens) Speaking of... (Adina snaps her fingers and an enchanted drone resembling a large eyeball flies down, projecting footage of Serenity breaking into the courtroom from its pupil) Oh, would you look at that! (Dramatically) Serenity! The pure-hearted seraphim, the living embodiment of hope and unity in the kingdom of Heaven, caught red-handed, tampering with Heaven's prayers, breaking into my sanctum! (Serenity looks like she's about to explode) It seems I have allll the evidence I need to have you tried and removed from our kingdom. I'm afraid Heaven's gonna be needing a new joy bringer very soon. Boo-hoo. So sad! Might shed a tear later, maybe.
"
— Serenity confronts Adina and Fitch upon uncovering their villainous plot.
"Purgatory Lucifer: (while he and Serenity wander around Purgatory's imitation of Heaven, Lucifer sees Seraphiel, a look of fury on his face) Eugh, Seraphiel. Always lulling God with his dumb fairy tales of the 'FuTuRe'!!! And, get this, the second I was kicked from Heaven, God replaced me with that fraud!!! He was so senile, he couldn't tell the difference between a composer and a poser!!! I can compose ten gazillion times better than him!!!!
Serenity: (she rolls her eyes) You're just jealous, Lucifer...
Purgatory Lucifer: Sorry, what was that? (he takes out his hat and a bunch of random gag objects fall out of it as he shakes it) I think I heard someone - and I mean you - talking some, OH, YEAH (he pulls of carton of mayonnaise from his hat) BALONEY!!!
Serenity: (she blinks in confusion) ...You're just jealous of the fact that more people like Dad than you! You never did like it when good-natured, humble souls were more loved than you... Put on a show all you want! Use your pride as a shield! But deep down, you're just a big... crybaby!!
Purgatory Lucifer: (after a pause, Lucifer just chuckles, putting his hat back on) Poor, little seraph. Darling, I'll have you know I am a (raising a finger) MILLION TIMES more humble than you think!!! (he stands proudly, crossing his arms) And unlike 'daddy'... (with a smug smile) I knew how to play the pull-out game.
Serenity: ....The whuh?
"
— Purgatory Lucifer and Serenity arguing.
"Purgatory Lucifer: (Serenity returns from her vision of her confronting Sera; Lucifer sits aside from her on the floating couch, writing on a crossword puzzle) At least there's some good news! While you were gone, I figured out a new, eight-letter word for 'heartbreak'! (as he writes it) 'Serenity'.... (Serenity doesn't even humor Lucifer, just looking off with a emotionless expression; Lucifer groans) Okay, kid. Spill it. What's on your mind? You want pancakes? Hashbrowns? A new sister?
Serenity: (still not looking at Lucifer) ...Why?
Purgatory Lucifer: Well, ya DID just shit on Sera's years of sisterly-
Serenity: (she shakes her head, finally facing him) No! W- Why did you - why did Purgatory - show me any of this?! Is this place so dark and hopeless it has to make everyone in it miserable!?
Purgatory Lucifer: Well, misery loves company! Besides, (checking his nails and crossing his legs) Purgatory has a funny way of digging into the minds of anyone unfortunate enough to cross it. She's kinda silly like that. Digging up in that pile of clod liver oil called a mind and showing people what they truly feel like! (facing Serenity with a dead serious expression) That's you, sweetheart. But believe me, Serenity, everything you saw was how you really feel. Sure, whatever, it may hurt like red-hot cactus in the eyesocket, but I think you know that Heaven and Hell uniting - the possibility is as real as the tooth fairy, or Belphegor's hopes and dreams... (Overcome with all she went through recently, Serenity curls up on the couch and quietly sobs to herself into her arms on the armrest; Lucifer lets this play out for a moment) Y'annow... I'm the only one who really understands you, kid. (gazing out into the void) Once upon a time, I, too, had big plans for Heaven, the Universe... I wanted to make a paradise. A real one, not the two-dollar bargain-bin paradise the Old Man tried to peddle. But then, when I began inspiring other people, my family felt threatened. So, they decided to teach me the ultimate lesson; life is a long road of broken dreams, and no matter how perfect you are, or how much you do for angelkind, it will NEVER be enough!!! (Serenity looks up from her arms with tear-stained eyes; Lucifer bitterly closes his eyes, before opening them as he faces Serenity) But... I didn't let that keep me down. Since I realized Heaven made no sense, I created my own nonsensical circus! And I want you... as a part of it, Serenity. (Serenity's eyes widen; Lucifer has her full attention) You'd fit in with all of us outcasts! You could bring joy to children, have sapphic fantasies with Charlie, the whole enchiladas!!! (he claps his hands) Whatduya say...?
Serenity: (she stares at Lucifer, before looking away as suspenseful silence hangs in the air; her expression grows more depressed as she lays her head on the armrest) No.
Purgatory Lucifer: What the fuck? What do you mean 'no'?!
Serenity: (softly) I can't abandon Heaven. No matter how broken it is...
Purgatory Lucifer: Uhh, excUUUUUse me, I thought I was talking to the same seraph who said she HAD to escape that 'prison cell'!!! DAMMIT, SERENITY!!! Heaven has lied to you countless times! Used you as a glorified, promoting MASCOT! YOU'RE RONALD MCDONALD TO THESE WINDBAGS!!!! Your big sister moseyed along with a GENOCIDE!! And, now that they know you give a shit about Hell, they banished you without a second thought! So, WHY, pray tell, DO YOU STILL LOVE HEAVEN AFTER EVERYTHING?!?!
Serenity: (on the verge of tears) BECAUSE IT'S MY HOME! ... (she wipes her face, the golden rose which Asherah put in her hair sparkling a little as Serenity literally glows, like a light piercing the void's darkness) It's my home... And I may not agree with everything, but it's still my job to stand by it. Not for its order or ideals, but for the winners and innocent souls who deserve a real paradise. It's my responsibility.
Purgatory Lucifer: (his appearance turns more demonic as fire periodically spews from his mouth, but Serenity is unphased; as he suspensefully winds up... he anti-climatically fake gags; turning to normal in a whiny tone) FffffffIIIIINE. (he crosses his arms like a child) I don't even WANT you in Hell. All that hooey you just said would get you eaten alive, anyway.
Serenity: (with a confident smile) That's okay! I'm perfectly joyful... In Heaven, I mean! (she looks at the void of Purgatory) Not... this place.
Purgatory Lucifer: (he straightens his hat and sighs, standing up from the couch) I'm afraid there isn't a place for you, kid. Angels who give a care about Hell fit in with Heaven about as well as oil and apple cider.
Serenity: (with a more hopeful tone) Oh, come on, Lucifer!! Segregating people based on their ideals doesn't solve anything. It just keeps the cycle going!
Purgatory Lucifer: (Purgatory Lucifer begins slowly fading away, like cinders and ashes) Welp, that's my cue. (he shakes his head with a chuckle, facing Serenity; he can't help but see a lot of Charlie in her) God, look at you... (Serenity beams with hope) Shining like the morning star itself, ready to rewrite the stars. You remind of someone, someone I hold very dear...
Serenity: (softly) ...I wish you could've, too.
"
— Serenity to Purgatory Lucifer.
"Serenity: What matters more than what the world is, is what we make of it. Heaven used to be a place of hope, and kindness, and justice... And we're gonna take it back. We're going to make it a place of acceptance and love again! We can break this system. We have to. Adina can't be allowed in charge of people's prayers, or worse, their immortal souls! We have to take our home back, even if we have to take it back by force.
Tory: B- But... (he flies in front of her) Serenity, Adina has access to magic we angels can't even dream of! Ho- How are we gonna-
Serenity: (she gently grabs Tory by his shell, giving him a reassuring smile) With a little bit of faith, hope, and charity. Aren't those the values of Heaven? We can change things. Not by sitting around, but by standing up. Standing up to injustice. Standing up to cruelty! Standing up to those who would take our happiness and rights away from us! We've done it before, and, by God, we'll do it again. Even if it takes me a million years, even if I have to face the odds alone on everyone's behalf, I will change things.
"
— Serenity's rallying speech.
"Serenity: (Serenity flies over to Fitch, who attempt to blast her out of the sky by shooting holy energy from his trident) Oh, hi! (Serenity kicks back in the air, casually dodging Fitch's blasts) You're Adina's helper, right? I don't think we've ever spoken to each other!
Fitch: And I'd like to keep it that way, you mawkish, six-wing-ed LOUSE!!! (he unleashes a particularly large blast at Serenity, seeming so big that she wouldn't be able to avoid it; when the light subsides, it seems she's gone...)
Serenity: (...until she appears next to Fitch, pushing her cheek against his as he recoils in anger) 'Six-winged louse'? Goodness gravy, you're a grumpy one, aren't ya?
"
— Serenity meeting Fitch in the final fight.
"Serenity: (Mid-battle) And Adina? ...There's something I've always been meaning to tell you... [...] Do you remember your prayer, the one you made in your childhood? It was answered!
Adina: (She shoots Serenity a confused look before laughing.) Is this some kind of cruel joke?! (She blasts Serenity away with holy magic, though her shield prevents the magic from causing her any real harm.) I love a cruel joke or two, but that's a bit out-of-character for YOU, no?
Serenity: Can't you see?! Prayers come from the HEART. ...When you lost your family and prayed for all sin to be gone, that wasn't what your heart wanted! What you really desired... Was to not be alone, to not feel pain anymore! And that prayer- It was answered when Sera and Dad took you in when you lost everything!!!
Adina: (Adina looks briefly taken aback... until she snorts.) Hahaha- HAHAHA!!! So, you think YOU of all creatures can dictate the desires, pain, and suffering of others?! (she ascends above Serenity, smirking smugly) I'm the one who does that. You, whose father gifted you with EVERYTHING! EVERYTHING I WAS DENIED! Oh, look at you, preaching and pleading for the humans like the little fool you are. Lemme ask you something: Why can't YOU see... That what I'm doing... Is what YOU SHOULD BE DOING, TOO?!
"
— Adina and Serenity during their confrontation.
"Adina: (she giggles) It's so cute, watching you try to stop our crusade! Now why don't you be a good girl and go back to your place? (she encases Serenity in a holy sphere which progressively shrinks, slowly crushing her inside) Let the adults talk. My word and law...-
Serenity: (she unfurls her seraphic wings, shattering the sphere in an instant) IS NOTHING COMPARED TO HEAVEN AND HEART!!!
"
— Adina and Serenity mid-battle.
"Serenity: (She kneels down towards the injured, seemingly dead Tory.) Oh, Tory... (She begins sniffling, wiping her face as a deluge of tears fall from her eyes.) Why'd you have to do it...?
Tory: (Struggling to speak.) C- 'Cuz... (He slowly opens his eyes, though blinded.) 'Cuz you always believed in me, Serenity...
Serenity: (She gasps, covering her mouth, shocked but relieved that Tory is still alive!) T- Tory! (She puts a comforting hand on his broken shell.)
Tory: (He has a glazed, distant look in his clouded eyes, not making eye contact with Serenity.) Serenity, where are you...? Everything's so-
Serenity: (She pets his shell.) Shhhh... Everything's alright. You did amazing, sweetheart... (She pulls Tory onto her lap, hugging him tightly as he sighs and closes his eyes.)
"
— Serenity finds the mortally injured Tory in the aftermath of the final battle.
"Sera: You look beautiful, Serenity. It's funny... I look upon you and see so little of myself... (She turns her back to Serenity, in deep thought) Tell me, dearest sister... (She looks at Serenity, emotionally.) Did I do well...? Raising you? Bring you.... Joy? How could I be Chieftess of Justice if I can't do right by you and human souls?
Serenity: (She gives Sera a bittersweet smile.) ...You did... Pretty well, big sis. You took care of me, kept our people in check, and helped everyone in our kingdom. You were very, very strong. You still are. But you're... Missing something important: Compassion. And maaaaybe a lil' bit of patience. We're supposed to have compassion for everyone, even the sinners of Hell. You care a lot about Heaven and the angels, but not for... For everyone we could be saving. You're a good sister. You've kept me safe, and you're a great leader. But EVERYONE deserves a piece of Heaven. ...And for Heaven's sake, stop being so scared! Learn to take risks! I've listened to your advice my entire life, and it's helped me through so much. But now... maybe you should start taking a few notes from me. (She takes Sera's hands as Sera looks down at her.) Don't you agree with me?
Sera: (After a long pause, tears fall from Sera's eyes as she smiles and nods.) Yes... Yes, yes. (Serenity smiles in agreement. She and Sera close their heads, leaning their foreheads against each other in a display of sisterly love.)
"
— Sera and Serenity.
"Metatron: (he suddenly appears next to Sera and Serenity as they stand before a crowd of millions) EVERYONE!!! Behold!!! BehOoOoOOOolld!!! ...ARISE!!! Rise and genuflect for Her Seraphic Majesty... The joy purveyor of all moral souls... THE VERY ANGEL OF JOY itself.... Princess Serenity... THE VERY FACE OF HEAVEN!!!! (Serenity and Sera share an exhausted look) HEAVEN'S VALUES AND ETHOS INCARNATE!!!! ...THE-
Serenity: (she flies in front of Metatron, her arms spread out) One politely cutting you off 'cuz you are giving me WAY too much credit for being nice to otherrrrrs!!! (she does jazz hands and giggles nervously with that last word) Goodness gracious, you're making me blush! Tee-hehe!
"
— Metatron introducing Serenity as the Head Seraphim.

???[]

"???: Could... you show me around? I... don't really want your sister tooo....
Serenity: (gasps) Really?! Goodness, it would be an honor! B- Besides, you can do better than that (Serenity levitates off the ground, bending her knees to mimic riding a horse; mimicking Sera's serious expression and speaking in a British accent) pRiSsY tRoUgH pEeReSs! (normal) Hehehe! ...But for real, could ya let Sera come along? I PROMISE she's really been letting her hair down lately!
"
"Serenity: Oh, I can't wait for you to meet the Heavenly Father! He's so powerful and imaginative, and listening to Him speak is so... breathtaking! And, uh, y'know... y- you really deserve it.
???: Gee... thanks, really. Um... So, wait, you mean to tell me you HAVE met Him before?
Serenity: (she laughs nervously) Uh, not really... soooorta??? Once in a blue moon, me, my family, and the choir travel to His throne to sing to the masses, but Sera always made sure that only our father really got to talk to Him. 'We have to be on our best behavior', she says. Besides, the Heavenly Father's usually too preoccupied with... well, everything. But, now, things are better and we're off to address the Morningstars about all that has happened between Heaven and Hell, so you'd be PERFECT to tag along!

Trivia[]

  • Serenity is based on the angel Haniel, the angel of joy from Jewish mythology and angelology. Much like how Serenity's duty seems to be welcoming and bringing joy to all of Heaven's denizens, Haniel works to direct people who are searching for fulfillment to God, and is the source of all joy and love.
  • Her name means "the state or quality of being serene, calm, or tranquil". Her name is also indicative of her goal to bring peace to both Heaven and Hell.
  • Her theme song would either be "Somebody To Love" by Queen, or "Over the Rainbow" by Stage Stars.
  • Serenity is essentially the Heavenly counterpart of Charlie. In fact, she and Charlie quickly bond with each other and become best friends due to their similar nature and goals. Both are the royal daughters to two of the most powerful angels respectively; both are warm, idealistic, compassionate, and kind to all; both come from families with an extensive background in theater and music; and both believe strongly in redemption for sinners.
    • One aspect the series' creators emphasized in Serenity and Charlie's dynamic is the subtle differences in their mannerisms despite their similarities. Serenity's manner of speaking is more childlike compared to Charlie's, yet it is also more considerate and poetic, reflecting her angelic nature. Most notably, unlike Charlie, Serenity never swears, even when at her angriest.
  • Is down HORRENDOUS for Charlie, but also grapples with being afraid of coming across as a stalker.
  • Would be a Queen fangirl.
  • A lightweight. Many comment that she literally weighs about as much as a feather.
  • She once had a fear of the dark.
  • LOVES internet memes.
    • She loves sharing memes with Sera, though Sera always needs Serenity to explain them to her.
  • Her favorite dessert food is tres leches cake.
  • Sleeps with stuffed animals. Mountains of 'em.
  • She dreams of ballroom dancing with Charlie Magne at the Empyrean, with Charlie in a black tuxedo and her in a seraphic gown.
  • She was the one who came up with the term "winners" for Earth-born angels. It started out as a term of endearment only she used, but eventually just kind of caught on.
  • She is a complete animal lover and it would literally take her forever to decide her favorite since she would get caught up in yapping about all the qualities different animals have without coming up with a straight answer.
    • Though she wouldn't be able to come up with an answer herself, her favorite animal is likely the unicorn.
  • Like Sera, whenever Serenity becomes especially angry, fire appears within her eyes.
  • She is on Roo's radar. *nervous laugh*
    • If Serenity ever met Roo personally, it would probably break her and change her forever. Due to being raised in Heaven and being shielded from most atrocities and sin, Serenity would be in visceral disbelief that something as horrible and evil as Roo could even exist.
  • In her childhood, she used to ask Sera and Seraphiel how many days were left until Christmas. All. The. Time.
  • When Vaggie was in Limbo and being judged by the Heavenly Court, Serenity was one of the angels who had vouched for Vaggie to be sent to Heaven.
  • She is the ONLY character in Journey to the Light who is not allowed to swear. EVER.
  • She does not like coffee or anything that tastes bitter.
