"The past can be such a dreadful thing; either for one's then circumstances, or a painfully nostalgic reminder of time once was. That is precisely why I prefer to look to the future."
— Stolas.

Stolas, formerly Prince Stolas of the Ars Goetia, is a major character in Hazbin Hotel: Journey to the Light.

He serves as a flashback character in Chapter 4 and a major character in Chapter 5.

He was a Goetia demon, former prince of the Ars Goetia, son and former heir of Paimon, ex-husband of Stella, and father of Octavia.

Upon his birth, Stolas was gifted with the ability to see the future and prophecies through constellations and dreams, his first prophecy he ever read revealing that he would die at a young age. He was secretly responsible for granting I.M.P his sentient grimoire which they require to access Earth. His duty as a Goetia demon was primarily to observe the mortal realm's skies and stars in search of prophecies, and inform Hell's higher-ups of the future. He was also responsible for dictating Hell's imp population. Stolas made a deal with an assassin by the name of Blitzø, trading his grimoire in exchange for intimate encounters with the imp. This arrangement permitted Blitzø and his associates to carry out assassinations on human souls over on Earth. While it did bring Stolas a measure of gratification and a semblance of affection, his unfaithfulness resulted in his estranged wife, Stella, seeking revenge. She dispatched assassins to target the prince and his allies.

Stolas' royal status was rescinded after his illegal dealings with I.M.P came to light, suffering the consequences of his actions. Moreover, his revelation to Lucifer regarding a foreseen catastrophe, poised to obliterate Hell itself, triggered an atmosphere of paranoia and vulnerability within the realm's ruler. In spite of the forfeiture of his titles and the stigma of being a fugitive, Stolas exhibited unwavering resistance, ingeniously evading capture and seeking refuge in an observatory nestled within the asteroids of the cosmos. He immersed himself in an unyielding quest to unravel the intricacies and origins of the impending Hellish apocalypse.

Prior to uncovering the reason behind the apocalypse in Hell, Stolas found himself entangled in a confrontation involving Stella and Andrealphus, both of whom had threatened Octavia's life. Stolas, aided by I.M.P, successfully rescued Octavia from harm's way. Tragically, his life was abruptly extinguished soon after by Izzi, fulfilling his prophecy of dying young. During his demise, Stolas bestowed upon Blitzø an Asmodean Crystal and entrusted him with the shaky responsibility of looking after Octavia.

Biography

Background

Stolas is one of 72 children of Paimon, the king and progenitor of the Ars Goetia. When Stolas was born, Hell's satanic star moon did not lower for a full day and the demon realm experienced a 24-hour meteor shower in addition to a massive constellation appearing in the sky.

When he came of age, Paimon informed Stolas that his duties as a Goetia prince, tasking him with commanding his demonic legions and studying the skies of Earth, space, and the stars in search of prophecies; he was then given his grimoire, granting him access to the living world, his demonic powers, and allowing him to pass his wisdom to his followers.

Stolas spent the next months attempting to use his grimoire to read prophecies, only to fail repeatedly, which led to Paimon ridiculing and emotionally abusing him for his failures. Eventually, Stolas was able to finally read his first prophecy, only to be horrified when it revealed that he would die at a young age. The young Stolas was in tears over this, at first refusing to believe it and calling his powers a "curse". Paimon reacted with mild inconvenience at the possibility of losing a son before he had sired an heir to the throne. Paimon almost immediately "solved" his problem and decided to betroth Stolas to Stella, a fellow, noble avian demon, which did nothing to make Stolas feel any better.

Not much is known about the rest of Stolas' childhood, although it can be inferred that his childhood was rather unhappy and dictated by Paimon, who Stolas claimed would "teach him discipline with his fists". Stolas was also tasked by his father and Lucifer himself to commit various atrocities on Earth in order to meddle with the lives of humanity. Stolas developed a fear of death from his prophesied fate, as well as health anxiety.

Due to his prophesied premature death, Stolas was forced to marry Stella when he was very young, and their marriage was entirely arranged to preserve both of their individual statuses, rather than one of genuine love. Despite his circumstances, Stolas genuinely tried to give Stella a happy life and make their marriage work, but Stella was relentlessly mocking and cruel to Stolas, managing his life and berating him for not acting properly in public. Stolas went along with Stella most of the time as he wanted to appease her, but whenever he gained the courage to assert himself, Stella would beat him for any defiance. Despite his superior rank and power, Stolas never retaliated against Stella as it was against his principles to strike a lady. Eventually, the two were able to conceive a child together - despite Stolas' extreme reluctance - who became known as Octavia.

Despite having never asked for a child, Stolas swore to give Octavia the happy life that he never got to have, spending much of his time with her and even setting aside his responsibilities as a Goetia to bond with her, and frequently taking her on trips to the Greed Ring theme park, Loo Loo Land. Despite his disputes with Stella being a constant recurrence, Stolas tried his best to make everything look fine to Octavia, giving his daughter the illusion that he and Stella loved each other. When Octavia was a pre-teen, Stolas began teaching her the powers of his grimoire, subtly preparing her to take on his role as a prophet when he would die. At one point, Stolas and Octavia created their own star together to serve as a symbol of their love. Over the years, Stolas and Stella's relationship began to deteriorate rapidly, among other things with Andrealphus wanting Stolas to concede his position of prophet over to himself, since Stolas was die soon anyway. As Stolas was unable to hide his and Stella's constant fighting, Octavia's sweet personality soured and became tired, moody, and snarky.

Stolas was eventually approached by an imp named Blitzø. Stolas agreed to give the imp access to his grimoire in exchange for having sex with him. Even though Blitzo abandoned him in the middle of the night with the book and blatantly preyed on his emotional vulnerability, Stolas greatly enjoyed the experience and, feeling a connection between them, began to lust after the imp. This caused his marriage to deteriorate even more after Stella found out about the affair. Despite his wife's ire, Stolas did not express any regrets or apologize for the incident, making things even more tense.

Events of Hazbin Hotel: Journey to the Light

Chapter 5

In "A Complete Shitshow", Stolas is among many noble demons called to Castle Magne by Lucifer in the wake of Leviathan's attack on the seven rings. Not too long after Stolas makes his appearance, Stella runs up to him and begins viciously scolding and berating him for his infidelity, catching the attention of everyone. Stolas retorts by implying that Blitzø was better in bed than she was, to which Stella angrily leaps at him, but she is intercepted by Bethesda, who walks Stella away while quietly berating her for acting improperly. Immediately afterward, Stolas is ridiculed by Andrealphus.

Later, Stolas runs into Seviathan and greets him. The two share a friendly conversation, with Stolas expressing how proud he is of the man Seviathan has become.

After Lucifer's great meeting where he essentially intimidates Hell's nobility into being loyal to him, Stolas attempts to reach the King of Hell afterward, who acts very passive-aggressive and dismissive of Stolas. The Goetic Prince tries to warn Lucifer of an apocalyptic future spelling the end of Hell that he saw in a dream, but Lucifer expresses very little concern with this since he can just move on from Hell rebuild, even when Stolas brings up that demons need Hell to keep their demonic powers. When Stolas insults Lucifer for his careless behavior, the King of Hell becomes irate and attacks and intimidates Stolas, reminding him of his place and that he is aware of his dealings with I.M.P. Lucifer then attempts to leave the injured Stolas, though Stolas manages to express his determination to discover the nature of this apocalypse and possibly prevent it.

In "Make New Friends But Keep Roo", Stolas is in his palace, using his observatory in a desperate attempt to find ways to prevent the impending apocalypse. He tries to put together and read a constellation that would allow him to see the event, but fails, which creates a small explosion in his room. While laying defeated on the floor, he somberly asks his grimoire what he is going to do. Immediately afterward, he is interrupted by a knock at the door and answers it, revealing it to be Corey and Peel. The two squires declare from a scroll that Stolas, on the orders of Lucifer, has hereby been stripped of his possessions and authoritative power, and the King of Hell has ordered his immediate arrest for his deals with I.M.P. Stolas told the two that he will relinquish all of his possessions, all except for his grimoire, but Corey and Peel tell the prince that Lucifer specifically requested them to take the grimoire. Stolas glares at them and sternly said that he would not be handing over his grimoire, to which Corey and Peel attempted to take it by force. This leads to a full-on magic battle between Stolas and the two squires. Stolas uses Corey and Peel's inability to work together to easily overpower his would-be captors with a spell that turns off the gravity around them, before using his telekinesis to seize his grimoire before teleporting to part's unknown while Corey and Peel were busy fighting with each other.

Following this, Stolas has labeled a fugitive with a 500,000,000,000 soul reward for his capture. In Stolas' stead, Stella moved back into his palace and was granted full ownership of all Stolas' possessions, political power, and even full custody over Octavia.

In "Law of the Jungle", Stolas returns to Hell in an attempt to find Charlie or the hotel crew, teleporting into the outskirts of a destroyed town (which Missi Zilla then left to investigate. Minutes later, he witnesses Missi Zilla, pinning Arthur on the ground with her foot with drooling intentions of devouring an angel for the very first time in her life. Arthur closes his eyes, accepting the end of his afterlife, until Stolas petrifies the T-rex Overlord. The injured hotel crew enters the building and sees the stone of Missi Zilla, whose jaws were about to crush Arthur. Arthur awkwardly crawls out from under Missi's jaws before the baffled hotel crew then notices Stolas coming out of the shadows. Stolas happily and nonchalantly greets the hotel crew, claiming that he has been looking everywhere for them before inquiring about Charlie's whereabouts, and greeting Blitzø in a seductive tone. Exacerbated, Charlie's Angels and the hotel crew look at Stolas with dull expressions as Giulia says "Seriously, dude?".

In "A Dream Realized", Stolas takes half of the hotel gang to his private observatory, which is located on a stationary asteroid hovering in space. As they marvel at his observatory, Stolas manages to bond with several members of the hotel crew, notably Baxter, as they share a mutual love of space. He allows the gang to recollect themselves from Missi Zilla's assault before returning to his private study, but not before spotting Blitzø and attempting to greet him. Their meeting is awkward and cold, as neither has quite recovered from their "date" at Ozzie's. Rather than baby-talking him, Stolas refers to Blitzø by his chosen name out of respect and tells him where his resting quarters are, trying to keep things purely professional. Despite being in desperate need of love and affection, Stolas offers Blitzø a place to rest before somberly leaving.

An hour later, Stolas is reading mountains of books and still attempting to connect constellations, arguing with his grimoire like an old married couple as it apparently gives him telepathic advice. When he fails, again, to connect the constellations to learn more about the incoming apocalyptic event, he becomes crestfallen, lamenting how he cannot take his Happy Pill medication anymore. He then tries to resist the urge to drink from a glass of absinthe on his desk, clenching his fist so hard that it starts bleeding. Eventually, Stolas gives in and goes to pour himself a glass just as there is a knock at the door. Fergus and Vaggie enter his study, the latter noticing Stolas' bottle of absinthe. Vaggie pleads with Stolas to stay sober for Octavia's sake, knowing how much his addiction has negatively affected their relationship.

Fergus relates to and comforts Stolas, being one who drowns his own sorrows as well. He says that he knows that Stolas turns to alcohol as a coping mechanism because of what Paimon and Stella have done to him. In an effort to cheer him up, Fergus tells Stolas that when he was an angel, everybody in Heaven could not stand Paimon and found him obnoxious and overly haughty, and heard that the angels even celebrated when he was kicked out of Heaven. Stolas is actually offended by Fergus' statements and advises the fallen angel to not speak ill of his father. When Vaggie reminds Stolas that Paimon was a deeply abusive parent, Stolas gives his cruel father excuses, saying that there was a reason and lesson behind every beating Paimon gave him and that he was merely a stern parent. After sternly advising the two sinners to avoid insulting his father, Stolas uses demonic magic to contact Charlie via a magic mirror image before summoning her directly to his observatory.

After Charlie is informed by the hotel crew of what recently happened, she meets up with Stolas in his observatory. Charlie expresses her concern for Stolas, having heard of Stolas being made an outlaw. When Charlie asks him how Octavia is doing, Stolas gives her a half-truthful response before changing the subject, clearly not wanting to discuss his family matters. After Charlie asks why Stolas was on the run, he tells the princess all about the apocalyptic event he had seen in his dreams, and that Lucifer had no intention of helping him and, in his paranoia, took his statement as a threat. At first, Charlie is clearly shaken by the possibility of losing her home and her efforts to better Hell will be made useless, but when Stolas tells her that it can possibly be prevented, she becomes more determined. The Goetia tells the Princess of Hell that he meditated on the solution to the apocalypse, and the only answer was that they had to "strike at the root of Hell's entropy". Charlie interprets this to mean that she must reason with the Exterminators to cease their annual culling before they decide to wipe out all demons. Stolas seems uncertain and asks the princess if she is certain, and the princess replies that she will do anything to save her people and refuses to sit and do nothing. This revelation ignites something in Charlie, compelling her to try and restore the hotel and devise a potentially dangerous plan to get the aid of Hell's Overlords so that sinners will stand a fighting chance against the Exterminators if the angels cannot be reasoned with.

In "A Behemoth of Fun", Stolas is flying around in outer space, searching for answers to Hell's impending destruction by seeking out the constellations for himself. He uses an ancient astrolabe to seek out his desired constellation, but just before he can use magic to find out the truth, he is knocked down into an asteroid by Andrealphus, who freezes Stolas' astrolabe and smashes it under his heel, mocking greeting his half-brother. Stolas angrily confronts Andrealphus, who accuses Stolas of conspiring against Lucifer, labeling his warnings to the king of Hell as a threat, and refusing to hear Stolas out. Andrealphus ridicules Stolas for losing his titles and goes as far as to tell the prince that Octavia is enjoying life without him and that she is happier than she's ever been. Stolas tries to tell Andrealphus that trillions of souls will be extinguished if Stolas cannot prevent Hell's destruction, but Andrealphus either doesn't listen to Stolas or simply does not care either way, warning the prince to cease his attempts to "take Lucifer's throne". Stolas' grimoire telepathically tells him to stop Andrealphus, but Stolas, defeated by his half-brother's statements regarding Octavia (and knowing he cannot defeat Andrealphus in a direct fight), tells his grimoire to silence itself. Andrealphus notices this and ridicules Stolas for conversing with his grimoire, telling him that it is no wonder Octavia doesn't want to be around him before teleporting away, cackling in victory.

An utterly defeated, weak, and crestfallen Stolas returns to his observatory and harshly sets his grimoire on a nearby windowsill by the entrance before retiring to his bedroom for the night, alone. He examines his surroundings, realizing how truly alone he is in his current situation and that his reputation in his family is destroyed. With reluctance, Stolas breaks his oath to never look back on the past and takes out a framed photo of himself and Octavia when she was a child, feeling immense regret and shame for indirectly allowing Stella to sway Octavia to her side. Having, in his mind, lost the one thing that gave him life, Stolas sets the photo down and lays in bed, tearfully reciting a poem about the constellations and Zodiac symbols - which he had taught Octavia - in order to calm his mind. He falls asleep, refusing to cry.

In "Old Habits", Blitzø tells Charlie about all of his dealings with Stolas after the princess had asked him if the allegations against Stolas were true. Charlie is absolutely furious that Stolas would be so careless as to hand his grimoire to "anyone" in exchange for sexual pleasure, as well as outraged that he would help I.M.P commit mass murder on humans, thus adding to Hell's overpopulation problem and risk to Hell's exposure. She and Vaggie return to Stolas' observatory to confront the owl prince. However, the two quickly discover that Stolas' observatory has become overgrown with his demonic plants, with greenery everywhere and the structure wrapped up in roots. With Stolas not around to teach them discipline, the plants have become unruly and grown how much they want to. They try to enter through the door to get information from Stolas, but the Goetia prince's sentient plants, which have grown to an extent that they can communicate with Charlie and Vaggie, bluntly tell the two to leave as Stolas is not in the best state emotionally. However, despite their attempts to keep the two out, Vaggie and Charlie push their way through the observatory until they find Stolas passed out drunk in his study, his books flying around in different directions and his scrolls littered messily on the floor.

Charlie shakes Stolas awake, to which he immediately snaps at Charlie in a drunken, slurry mess, angrily telling the princess that he was dreaming about his life before Stella, continuing to chug absinthe through his ranting. Though she is nonplussed at Stolas for his illegal dealings, Charlie calms down and tells the depressed Stolas that Octavia would not want him to do this, but Stolas says that he has lost all of Octavia's love, and thus it no longer mattered. When Vaggie tried to take the bottle of absinthe away from him, Stolas' plants used their roots to shove her away from the prince. The plants admit that they are taking advantage of Stolas' drunken stupor so that they can do whatever they want, and intend on keeping him drunk for the Mother Plant so they can grow and cover everything.

Charlie and Vaggie quickly discover that Stolas' plants are far more dangerous than they appear, as they begin tearing holes in reality, allowing them to grow and spread across dimensions. To stop the spread, the two fight to stop Stolas' plants from growing until they grow large enough to blanket all dimensions. Throughout the madness, Stolas tinkers with his books goes through old photos of himself and Octavia and nonchalantly shows them to Charlie and Vaggie when they pass by him, and continues drinking while ignoring Charlie and Vaggie, overall being completely useless and pathetic while drinking.

After Charlie and Vaggie locate and destroy the Mother Plant, thus killing all of Stolas' plants and causing them to wither instantly, Stolas barely acknowledges the deaths of his plants before chugging a bottle of absinthe with Sleepy Pillz mixed in. He quickly falls onto the floor, passed out drunk, mumbling spells and incantations (which results in the spells actually happening, albeit with only 50% of their full effects due to Stolas' slurring), and covered in his own sick.

An ungroomed Stolas was woken up by Vaggie seconds later, she and Charlie hovering over him. Charlie, struggling to contain her anger as flames escape her eyes, confronted the depressed and self-loathing prince over his dealings with I.M.P. Stolas tells Charlie that it was an act of weakness and he just wanted to be happy, but Charlie goes ballistic at him, telling him that Octavia was what he needed to be happy, practically screaming and foaming at the mouth in rage to the point where Vaggie has to calm her down. Taking charge and using her authority, the Princess of Hell, surrounded by a fiery aura, coldly tells Stolas that once they save Hell from destruction, he will be arrested for his crimes against Hell and its order. An emotionally drained Stolas tells Charlie that capital punishment is the least of what he deserves and that he has done so many terrible things (both at the behest of Lucifer and Paimon and for his own selfish benefit) that he does not even put up an effort to defend himself. Stolas, unable to look his former friend in the face, simply gazed into the stars in the sky, nothing more than a hollowed-out wreck of a demon. In response, Charlie's stern exterior cracks and she explains to Stolas that what he did was extremely careless, and he had brought the repealing of his royal status on himself. Fighting back tears herself as Stolas continued staring into the sky with a lost expression, Charlie, still trying to remain stern, told Stolas that Octavia continues to love and miss him. Charlie and Vaggie then return to the Hazbin Hotel as Stolas, still slumped on the floor, stares off at the star that he and Octavia created in her childhood.

In "Let Blind Idiot Gods Lay", Stolas has a dream that calls back to his last conversation with Leviathan. One day before the King of Envy's attack on Hell, Leviathan offered to let Stolas aid him in conquering Hell, Heaven, and eventually all creation, offering him and the Ars Goetia security from his wrath in exchange for servitude, which Stolas refused on the principles of only serving Paimon and Lucifer.

Stolas wakes up from this dream and decides to stop moping around and take agency, telling his grimoire that he has a plan, though a dangerous and treacherous one. While Stolas is preparing for his journey, he receives a "summoning call" from Blitzø. Though flustered and surprised by Blitzø's action, Stolas summons the imp to his palace, where after an awkward greeting, Blitzø reminds Stolas that they are both in deep trouble with Charlie, but Stolas handwaves it and says that it is a bridge they will have to cross when they get to it. Blitzø inquires what is going on with Stolas and his apocalypse proclamations. Stolas tells Blitzø about his apocalypse visions, which Blitzø only reacts to with minor annoyance and asks who or what is going to cause it. Stolas says he doesn't quite know himself and says the only answer he was to "strike at the root of Hell's entropy". This completely goes over Blitzø's head, and Stolas tells the imp that Charlie believes Heaven will be the cause of Hell's destruction, but he speculates that it could be something entirely different. He tells Blitzø his drastic decision; he is traveling to the Dark Tapestry to consult Azathoth itself on the apocalypse. Blitzø is taken aback by this, and offers to help Stolas. When Stolas inquiries why Blitzø would want to travel with him on an undoubtedly dangerous mission, Blitzø puts on a facade and says he only wants to see if Stolas' "hocus pocus" ramblings on the Dark Tapestry are indeed true, before giving a more honest response and admitting that Stolas tends to know what he is talking about, and he wants his friends and family to get out safely if an apocalypse is coming. Stolas and Blitzø shake hands as partners, agreeing to set aside what happened at Ozzie's.

Beginning their journey, Stolas orders Blitzø to jump on his back, which Blitzø awkwardly does. The Goetia prince proceeds to shift into his Full Demon Form before flying off into space at lightspeed, Blitzø clinging onto his back. Keeping Blitzø safe from the vacuum of space with a thin force field that outlines his body and generates air for him, Stolas uses his grimoire to navigate through space, telling Blitzø that he need to travel to the darkness between the stars to get into the Dark Tapestry. Stolas travels by many stars, planets, and comets, both he and Blitzø getting caught up in the wonder of the Universe. To break the silence, Stolas asks Blitzø if he wants to talk about what happened back at Ozzie's. Blitzø reminds Stolas that they agreed to set the incident aside, but Stolas does not want there to be tension for them any longer. Noticing Blitzø is getting agitated, Stolas tries to drop it and brush off the incident as no big deal, admitting that he thought the things said about him were amusing. The imp interrupts Stolas and asks the Goetia demon if he truly loves Blitzø (if at all) for himself, or simply loves the way he makes him feel. After flying in silence, Stolas gives Blitzø an honest, blunt answer and says that it is the latter; he confesses that, while he does genuinely care about Blitzø, the feeling of being loved by Blitzø appeals to him more, and he is not really in love with Blitzø as much as he is in love with the affection and "love" he craves but has never received. In response, Blitzø gains a stoic expression and says that it is "fine", while staring bitterly into the stars as Stolas looks down with a somber expression.

Stolas and Blitzø arrive at the darkness between the stars, and Stolas uses the grimoire to take him to the Dark Tapestry at lightspeed, performing a ritual to do so and placing a protection charm on Blitzø to protect him from the Dark Tapestry's cold void and madness-inducing space. Stolas and Blitzø then find themselves in an abstract-looking, dark, alternate reality filled with eldritch horrors, and Stolas navigates them to the center of the Dark Tapestry. Stolas lands on a stationary asteroid and shifts back to his default form, beginning a ritual to awaken Azathoth. As the ritual intensifies, the eldritch entities within the Dark Tapestry surround the asteroid and bow their heads. After the ritual is completed, Stolas bows as he and Blitzø are greeted with the omnipotent presence of Azathoth himself, who rises from the Lake of Blackness under them and towers over them, surrounded by a flurry of dark matter, "Azathoth's Tears", and supernovas.

After its dramatic and intimidating introduction, Azathoth starts screeching and complaining at the two for waking him from his slumber, telling them that they killed countless metaverses and that he was very comfortable during his nap. He warns them that they better have a good excuse for doing so. Stolas inquires Azathoth's knowledge on Hell's impending end, but Azathoth, still furious and annoyed, screeches at Stolas that he caused a trillion apocalypses by waking him up.

While Stolas continues trying to get answers out of the enraged Azathoth (and nearly succeeds), he and Blitzø are suddenly attacked by five Glaciesdaemonium - who had candidly followed Stolas into the Dark Tapestry -, sent by Andrealphus to kill Stolas and presumably relay an answer about the apocalypse from Azathoth to Andrealphus himself. Despite him and Blitzø being blown back by the ice demons' entrance, Stolas summons his grimoire and engages Andrealphus' servants in a ferocious battle. During the battle, Stolas is nearly knocked off of the asteroid and into the Lake of Darkness, narrowly managing to cling on to a ledge and slowly climb his way back up with a determined look as the Glaciesdaemonium targeted Blitzø. During the fight, two ice demons freeze Stolas to the ground and the other demons run to Azathoth, with Andrealphus speaking through the ice demons to address Azathoth. Refusing to let Andrealphus know of the cataclysm's nature, Stolas uses his free hand to summon the grimoire and opens a portal which drags himself, Blitzø, and the ice demons out of the Dark Tapestry and into the mortal plane, preventing Andrealphus from learning of the apocalypse nature.

Everyone lands on an asteroid suspended near a star, and the ice demons advance on Stolas and begin viciously attacking him, with one ice demon impaling him through the abdomen with their giant, icicle-like arm. Stolas narrowly escapes seeming death when Blitzø recovers his grimoire and summons several small comets which collide into the ice demons, sending them barreling into the nearby star where they are destroyed.

Blitzø returns Stolas his grimoire as the battered Goetia looks into the distance to see the blackness between the stars warping, taking it as a hint that Azathoth is no longer accepting outsiders. Stolas opens a portal back to his observatory, but stops before entering it, gaining a forlorn expression and sitting on a nearby rock. Stolas tells Blitzø that every single prophecy he has foretold has come to fruition, and that, while he knows he cannot prevent the apocalypse, he at least wants to discover its cause and when it will happen so he can give the people he cares about a way out to a better life beyond Hell. Stolas then reveals to Blitzø that he was prophesied to die young, and that he is tired of being afraid of death and has accepted he will die, and that he does not have much time left.

Stolas candidly reveals his deepest apprehension: the haunting prospect of his demise occurring prior to Octavia's coming of age. He fears that such an eventuality would render Stella free to inflict upon Octavia the same mistreatment she once directed at him – a situation he wouldn't be there to shield her from, his absence preventing him from absorbing Stella's abuse in Octavia's stead. Aware of Stella's unscrupulousness, Stolas understands the lengths to which she's willing to descend in order to inflict anguish upon him.

In a demonstration of recognition and equality, Stolas designates Blitzø as his partner, treating him on par and trusting him immensely. He implores Blitzø to assume the mantle of Octavia's protector in the event of his own demise, expressing an earnest belief that Blitzø is the most exceptional demon he has encountered. Though the imps scoff ands roll his eyes at this sentiment, the gravity of Stolas's request dawns on him, prompting a period of contemplation. He acknowledges the tremendous weight being placed upon him, particularly given Octavia's palpable disdain for him due to his prior affair with Stolas. Nonetheless, he eventually assures Stolas that he will endeavor to bring happiness to Octavia's life to the best of his ability, tossing in a characteristically casually remark about being fine with the idea of "babysitting" her.

Concluding their discussion, the two demons solidify their arrangement with a handshake. Stolas conjures a portal back to Hell for Blitzø's departure. As Blitzø leaves, Stolas watches him go, his expression marked by a yearning sentiment, before he returns to his observatory, presumably lost in his thoughts.

In "Extermination Day: Part 1", Stolas suffers a nightmare wherein Octavia runs away from him in fear. Despite Stolas' anguished cries for her, Octavia runs to Andrealphus for refuge, who summons his ice demons to attack Stolas under the guise of protecting Octavia. While Stolas struggles to repel the encroaching ice demons with waning magical strength, Andrealphus derides him for not fearing death, an inevitability. Instead, Andrealphus highlights Stolas' true dread: the avoidable possibility of Octavia slipping from his grasp. Andrealphus taunts Stolas for his inability to avert this outcome by enduring Stella's abuse and feigning a happy marriage. Amid Stolas' struggle against the overwhelming ice minions, Andrealphus boasts that Via's fate is sealed, as he revels in his ability to manipulate and corrupt her, employing the threat of dire consequences if she resists. Employing magical ice shards, Andrealphus "kills" Stolas within the dream, jolting Stolas awake from the nightmarish ordeal.

Stolas sits in his observatory with his hat in his hands, clearly affected by his conversation with Blitzø and Octavia's possible fate. However, his contemplation is interrupted by a harsh knock on his observatory door. After Stolas raises his head, the doors swing open to reveal Paimon, Stolas' father. Stolas glares at his father as Paimon criticizes him for not answering the door for his "dear old daddy". Stolas asks Paimon what his business is, to which Paimon berates Stolas, remaking him as a disappointment to the family. Paimon claims that, as a result of Stolas' actions, he has fallen out of favor with Lucifer (failing to understand that Lucifer has been a recluse to everyone in general). Paimon expresses disappointment and anger towards Stolas for wasting his potential and associating with imps, ad reminds Stolas that, now that Charlie knows of his illegal dealings, the ex-prince has no allies to stand by his stand. Paimon emphasizes the consequences of Stolas "opposing" Lucifer, making it clear he has no qualms with killing his own son. Overcome with emotion, Stolas begins regressing and counters by pointing out that he lacked familial love and desired to be valued as more than just a political tool and trophy of Paimon's "good" parenting. Stolas accuses Paimon of only pretending to love him for personal gain. Paimon belittles Stolas, implying his insignificance within his own family.

In a highly charged moment, Stolas is overcome with emotion and releases powerful magical energy -causing chaos in his observatory- and challenges his father. Despite his rage, Paimon dismisses Stolas and presents him with two options: to live in seclusion within his observatory until the end of time, or to confront the repercussions of his actions by returning to Hell and facing trial. Paimon then abruptly disappears from the scene, leaving Stolas devastated and broken amidst the wreckage of his observatory.

In "Extermination Day Part 2: Live Fully, Love Forever", Stolas receives a frantic call from Blitzø as the latter races through the perilous streets of Pentagram City during the cataclysmic Extermination Day. While Moxxie, Millie, and Loona fend off a horde of Exterminators, Blitzø urgently informs Stolas of Octavia's peril at the hands of Andrealphus in his palace, much to Stolas' dismay. Despite Stolas' insistence that saving Octavia is his responsibility, Blitzø remains undeterred and mentions he is grabbing something for the "party" at Andrealphus' palace. Their conversation is abruptly cut short when Lute's actions result in a catastrophic crash of the I.M.P van. Faced with the knowledge that Andrealphus is baiting him into a confrontation, Stolas gazes upon his devastated observatory and his precious grimoire. A burning determination ignites within him as he rises to his feet, determined to save his daughter from Cocytus.

Meanwhile, Blitzø narrowly reaches I.M.P Headquarters, where he retrieves a Carmine-Crafted Blessing-Tipped Rifle from his office, the same one from Striker's earlier assassination attempt on Stolas which I.M.P had seized. Blitzø makes a harrowing escape from the headquarters just before it is obliterated by one of Azrael's devastating lightning displays.

Amidst a storm of apprehension, Stolas materializes within the ominous confines of Andrealphus' palace, his gaze seething with contempt as he confronts Andrealphus and Stella. Stella, her grip firm on Octavia, brandishes a knife menacingly. Stella, acutely aware of Stolas' formidable power, anxiously hurls a blessed rope toward his feet, demanding that he submit to being bound by its holy grip. In a fury, Stolas vehemently orders Stella to release the trembling Octavia, his anger so potent that the very ice in the palace begins to splinter. However, Stella counters by threatening to end Octavia's life right then and there unless Stolas complies with her demands. Reluctantly, Stolas concedes, allowing Andrealphus' servants to ensnare him in the sanctified rope, rendering him powerless and at their mercy.

With Stolas now rendered defenseless, Andrealphus resorts to a cowardly act, stabbing a sharp ice icicle into Stolas' shoulder, savoring every moment of his pain. He cruelly allows Stella to take center stage in exacting her revenge, framing it as retribution for the perceived transgressions that had shattered their marriage. Stella sadistically inflicts tortures Stolas, wielding a blessed knife with ruthless precision, all while Andrealphus forces the pleading Octavia to watch.. Throughout the harrowing ordeal, Stolas valiantly hurls Stella's own hypocrisy back at her, a desperate reminder of her failure to salvage their fractured union. Angered by Stolas's defiance, Stella unleashes a barrage of venomous words, accusing him of squandering his chance at a continued existence when he engaged in a forbidden affair with Blitzø. She taunts Stolas, asserting that Blitzø is merely exploiting him, using this taunt as a cruel reminder that Stolas is destined to never find true love. Adding to the torment, Stella unveils her sinister plan, much to Andrealphus' annoyance and frustration. She intends to orchestrate Stolas's death in such a way that it appears to be a self-inflicted tragedy, all in an effort to save face by concealing her murderous actions from the public eye.

As Stolas writhes in excruciating agony, his body covered in grievous wounds, Andrealphus and Stella subject him to the ultimate humiliation by coercing him into penning his own suicide note on the cold ground. The task proves exceedingly challenging as he is bound and incapacitated. After a painful struggle, Stolas eventually completes the grim letter. Stella drags him toward the horrified Octavia, forcing Stolas to confess to his daughter that he was fated to meet an untimely demise, a painful truth he had tried to shield her from. Weakened and struggling, Stolas tearfully admits the grim reality to Octavia, who is left in complete horror. In a tender moment amidst the despair, he assures her that she is a far better daughter than he deserves and expresses his pride in her for being so unlike Stella.

Stella, fueled by her sadistic desires, hurls Stolas to the ground with the intent of beheading him, intending to use his severed head as a macabre memento. However, her sinister plan is abruptly disrupted when Blitzø, utilizing the Carmine-Crafted rifle, blasts off Stella's arm, revealing that I.M.P has successfully infiltrated Andrealphus' palace. Andrealphus, acting cowardly, seeks refuge behind Octavia as Blitzø takes aim with the rifle, ultimately choosing to shoot Stolas' restraints instead. In a desperate attempt to kill Octavia, Andrealphus wields a blessed knife, but Stolas, despite his life-threatening injuries, summons his remaining strength. Using telekinesis, he halts the motion of Andrealphus' wrist, allowing a furious Octavia to fend off her uncle. She harnesses her powers to send Andrealphus hurtling into a wall, finally breaking free from his grasp.

While I.M.P battles Andrealphus' frigid minions and Stella rages in fury over the loss of her hand, Octavia rushes to Stolas, her heart pounding with panic over his grievous injuries. Despite his weakened state, Stolas offers feeble reassurances to comfort his distraught daughter, assuring her that he is alright. With great care, Octavia slings her father's arm over her shoulder, determined to carry him to safety. They begin their slow, laborious journey out of the malevolent confines of Andrealphus' palace. However, as they reach the palace courtyard, Octavia's heart sinks as she spots an imposing horde of Exorcists, their presence an insurmountable obstacle blocking their escape from the palace's vicinity.

Realizing the dire situation they are in, Octavia gently sets Stolas down, her sense of entrapment intensifying. She retrieves the flare given to her by Izzi and, with trembling hands, fires it into the darkened sky. High above, Izzi, Rum, and Striker catch sight of the illuminating flare, much to Izzi's twisted delight, heralding the imminent arrival of his "help".

Octavia persists in her efforts to carry the wounded Stolas away from the sinister palace, desperately trying to put as much distance as possible between them and the malevolent Andrealphus. However, their escape is thwarted when Andrealphus, with a wave of his icy power, conjures a colossal wall of ice around the palace premises, imprisoning them within. Hovering down in front of the trapped pair, Andrealphus exults in their predicament, asserting that there is nowhere for them to flee. Unfazed by his half-brother's boasts, Stolas steels himself, fully prepared to confront Andrealphus head-on. Octavia, fearing for her father's life, tries to reason with him, reminding him of the gravity of his injuries and the improbability of defeating Andrealphus, especially in his formidable Full Demon Form, which is characterized by his cyan pupils and the majestic, snowflake-like tail feathers that unfurl. However, Stolas remains resolute, whispering to Octavia to seek out Blitzø before he takes a defiant stance against the menacing Andrealphus, prepared to engage in a battle where the odds are overwhelmingly against him.

In a spectacular showdown, Stolas and Andrealphus engage in a fierce battle. Stolas harnesses the power of space, while Andrealphus wields his formidable ice magic. The two half-brothers clash in a whirlwind of magical combat, with Andrealphus proving to be a formidable opponent. At one critical moment, Andrealphus launches a barrage of razor-sharp ice shards toward Stolas, piercing his defenses until the clever owl demon employs gravity manipulation. He freezes the shards' momentum and redirects them back at Andrealphus, briefly gaining the upper hand. However, the tides of battle swiftly turn against Stolas as he is impaled in the back by a colossal ice icicle that emerges from the ground, a treacherous move orchestrated by Stella. The siblings unite, poised to end Stolas's life together. But Octavia steps forward, a fierce determination in her eyes, adamantly refusing to allow them to harm her father.

Andrealphus, unmoved by Octavia's stance, coldly declares "so be it" and unleashes a joint, devastating blast of ice magic aimed at Octavia and Stolas, with Stella eagerly participating in the assault. To everyone's astonishment, Octavia harnesses her own powers to summon a mystical glyph, shielding her and Stolas from the deadly attack. With her hands ablaze in azure flames, Octavia retaliates with explosive stardust, directing her formidable powers toward Andrealphus and Stella. Stolas, standing by his daughter's side, can't help but express his excitement and admiration for her remarkable abilities. Together, they engage Stella and Andrealphus in a thrilling and intense battle that will determine the outcome of their harrowing confrontation.

Within the palace, Izzi, Striker, and Rum stealthily infiltrate Andrealphus' domain. They make their way to a balcony where they bear witness to the intense and unsettling confrontation unfolding below. Striker readies a blessing-tipped rifle, preparing to deliver a lethal shot to Stolas, but before he can pull the trigger, Izzi intervenes, preventing the assassination. Their intrusion, however, doesn't go unnoticed. I.M.P swiftly retaliates, launching an attack on the insurgents. Blitzø pursues Izzi, while Moxxie goes after Striker, and Loona fiercely engages Rum, even biting off his remaining arm during the skirmish. Izzi, realizing the dire situation, quickly flees into the palace, leaving Blitzø baffled during the chase as he vanishes without a trace, adding a layer of mystery to the unfolding chaos. Blitzø joins forces with Moxxie to subdue Striker, rendering the assassin unconscious on the balcony. Afterward, Blitzø inquires about Loona's well-being, to which she responds with a thumbs-up, still holding Rum in her mouth, signifying her successful takedown of their opponent.

In the courtyard, Octavia coldly employs her ice powers to immobilize Stella, disregarding her mother's desperate pleas for mercy. Octavia then rejoins her father, both determined to confront Andrealphus head-on. Despite their resolve, Andrealphus proves to be a formidable adversary, swiftly overpowering them and knocking them to the ground. He ensnares them within an icy prison, conjuring the freezing substance from beneath them. As Andrealphus relishes in his taunting, his gloating is abruptly halted when Izzi, from a distance, takes a shot with a blessing-tipped rifle, striking the demon in the abdomen and severely weakening him. Stolas and Octavia seize the opportunity to break free from their icy bonds, and they are soon joined by the members of I.M.P, forming a united front against the now-vulnerable Andrealphus. Amidst the confrontation, Octavia spots Izzi on the palace roof, who salutes her before seemingly vanishing from the scene, leaving Octavia under the impression that he has departed. With Stolas and the others standing resolute before him, Andrealphus, faced with no other recourse, taps into his most potent powers. He unleashes an all-encompassing ice blast, freezing the surrounding space, encasing everything and everyone in a chilling stasis just as Stolas and the rest of the group move in for the attack.

As Andrealphus surveys the frozen tableau with euphoric delight, he revels in the icy beauty that surrounds him, dubbing it his "winter wonderland." With a malevolent grin, he approaches the frozen Stolas, his mind brimming with sadistic thoughts about the various creative ways he could end the lives of Stolas, Octavia, and I.M.P before time resumes its course. Lost in his triumphant reverie, Andrealphus fails to notice the trap that Stolas had cunningly set before entering the palace. Anticipating that Andrealphus might resort to using his time-stopping abilities in the face of adversity, Stolas had strategically placed gravity glyphs beneath the courtyard's snow-covered surface before the battle. Unbeknownst to Andrealphus, as he steps onto one of these concealed glyphs, a crushing force of extreme gravity envelops his legs. The excruciatingly intense gravitational field brutally snaps Andrealphus' legs in half, causing him to writhe in agonizing torment on the frozen ground, ensnared as a helpless victim of Stolas's ingenious trap.

Andrealphus, trapped and powerless, can only watch helplessly as time gradually returns to normalcy, a full-on breakdown consuming him as the opportunity to eliminate his enemies slips away like sand through his fingers. Desperation fuels his fury, and he attempts to unleash a blizzard of vengeance. In the chaos that ensues, Blitzø, driven by the thirst for retribution, prepares to end Andrealphus while he lies incapacitated. However, Stolas intervenes silently, lowering Blitzø's raised rifle. Stolas understands the gravity of the situation and refuses to stoop to Andrealphus' level, despite the heinous acts committed against him and Octavia. Andrealphus' unbridled rage surges to new heights, creating a furious blizzard. Stolas, with unwavering resolve, implores Andrealphus to stop, refusing to become a murderer and choosing a higher moral path.

But Andrealphus, consumed by psychotic rage and incapable of admitting defeat, raises his hands, unleashing a prolonged and devastating blast of magical ice directly toward Stolas. Octavia steps forward, taking on the responsibility of halting the onslaught. She summons another glyph, her powers flaring to life. As Andrealphus continues to scream in a frenzy of rage, a chilling realization dawns on Stolas. The energy of his attack gathers into an incandescent ball against Octavia's glyph, a catastrophic force in the making. Panic-stricken, Stolas frantically pleads with Andrealphus to cease his assault, knowing the impending disaster. But Andrealphus, blinded by his unrelenting fury, remains undeterred, persisting in his magical assault until the burgeoning ball of energy detonates in a massive shockwave, sending everyone hurtling backward in the devastating aftermath.

With the chaotic aftermath settling, Blitzø extends a helping hand to Stolas, aiding him in getting back on his feet as the rest of I.M.P gradually regains their composure. Octavia, still groggy from the recent battle, awakens nearby and finds herself close to the imposing ice wall Andrealphus had conjured around the palace. Octavia's gaze falls upon her injured mother, Stella, who had been propelled through the wall during the earlier tumultuous events. Stella reaches out to Octavia, desperate for help and reconciliation. However, Octavia's heart has grown cold towards her mother due to the recent events and the years of mistreatment. Coldly, Octavia fixes a stern glare on Stella and employs her ice powers to mend the breach in the wall, sealing Stella's fate on the outside. Without a word or a second thought, Octavia darkly turns away from her mother, leaving Stella to face the approaching Exterminators alone, a final act of retribution for all the pain she had caused Octavia and Stolas.

Stolas and Blitzø make their way to where Andrealphus lies, a gruesome sight of agony. The fallen demon lord is impaled by jagged ice rocks within a chilling ice pit. His pain is evident, and Stolas, despite all the torment he's endured, still retains a sense of compassion. Understanding the necessity to end Andrealphus' suffering, Stolas grants Blitzø the grim task of delivering the coup de grâce with a shot to the head. The resounding gunshot pierces the cold silence of the scene, concluding the chapter of Andrealphus' malevolence.

As the remnants of their battle scatter and the ice structures of Cocytus begin to crumble in response to Andrealphus' demise, Stolas embarks on a contemplative journey back to the palace. He takes in the weight of everything that has transpired, the pain, the loss, and the bittersweet resolution that it has all come to. Finally, Stolas encounters Octavia, his beloved daughter, amidst the ruins of their shared ordeal. He offers an awkward compliment about her new haircut, but the wounds run too deep for light banter. Overwhelmed by emotion, Stolas extends his apologies to Octavia, expressing the deep regret he carries for allowing their lives to reach such a dire state. He addresses his failure to share the painful truth of his death prophecy with her, but his words are abruptly interrupted when she rushes up to Stolas, enveloping him in a tight embrace. Tears stream down her face as she clings to him, finding solace in his presence despite the trials they've endured. Stolas, taken aback by Octavia's unexpected display of affection, is deeply moved by the confirmation that she still loves him despite everything. He embraces her in return, their bond reaffirmed in the face of adversity and loss.

On the balcony overlooking the courtyard, Striker stirs and regains consciousness, witnessing the emotional reunion between Stolas and Octavia. The fragile moment is shattered by an abrupt and sinister presence as Izzi mysteriously reappears on the balcony. Izzi swiftly draws a blessing-tipped rifle, its ominous barrel pointed directly at Stolas. Before Stolas, Octavia, or anyone in I.M.P could react, a fatal shot rings out from Izzi's rifle, and Stolas is struck in the neck, collapsing into Octavia's trembling arms. Her screams of horror and despair echo through the courtyard as a chilling grin spreads across Izzi's face, his satisfaction palpable. He smoothly discards the rifle, letting it fall into Striker's hands, casting the blame upon the bewildered assassin. As confusion and rage surge within the group, Izzi exploits his invisibility, vanishing from sight. Blitzø, seething with anger and vengeance, tracks the trajectory of the deadly bullet and spots Striker, holding the rifle. Fueled by a desire for retribution, Blitzø takes aim at Striker, determined to make him pay for Stolas' murder. In the ensuing chaos, Striker narrowly evades Blitzø's retaliatory shot, escaping with a graze to his arm as he flees the scene.

Desperation fills the air as Octavia, Moxxie, and Millie tirelessly attempt to stem Stolas' bleeding, their efforts proving futile in the face of the inevitable. Stolas, weakened and fading, finds a bitter sweetness in the moment, having known that this day would eventually arrive. Blitzø, tormented by grief and hopelessness, clings to the belief that there must be a way to save Stolas. He pleads with his friend, desperately searching for any sign of hope. However, Stolas, in his final moments, embraces the solemn reality of his destiny. Summoning his grimoire, Stolas retrieves an Asmodean Crystal, entrusting it to Blitzø with a heavy heart. He instructs Blitzø to take Octavia and escape Hell, especially if the looming apocalypse becomes a grim reality. Octavia, overwhelmed with fear and sadness, clings to her father, begging him to hold on to life, the thought of being left alone with Blitzø haunting her. Blitzø, visibly pained by Octavia's words, shares in her sorrow as they witness Stolas slipping away. In his last breaths, Stolas comforts Octavia, urging her to not let his death rule her life, and passionately imploring her to seize life to the fullest, build friendships, and find love. He assures her that even in death, he will continue to watch over her. With a final surrender to his injuries, Stolas passes away in Octavia's arms, his foretold prophecy reaching its somber conclusion.

Octavia's world crumbles around her as she desperately shakes Stolas, pleading for him to return. Her emotions consume her, and her screams pierce the air, echoing her heartbreak. Blitzø, tears streaming down his face, attempts to guide Octavia to a safer place, but her grief transforms into anger. A tempestuous display of her powers manifests as a swirling ring of blue fire and stardust envelops her and Stolas. Octavia directs her fury at Blitzø, blaming him for her father's death and the devastation that has befallen her life. She swears vengeance against him, her world now devoid of immediate family, shattered beyond repair. In the midst of her overwhelming emotions, Octavia's powers inadvertently teleport her and Stolas' lifeless body to an unknown destination, leaving Blitzø in anguish and despair.

Kneeling in agony, Blitzø weeps over a puddle of Stolas' blood, his heart heavy with grief. Loona, Moxxie, and Millie gather around him, providing solace and comfort in the face of the tragedy that has befallen them all. As Blitzø cries, Izzi's words about the imp destroying everything he touches linger in his head as the star Octavia and Stolas created vanishes from the sky.

In "Let's Go Out With a Bang", following the final confrontation with Izzi - wherein Blitzø and Octavia discovers his role in Stolas' death - Octavia, Crymini, Loona, Blitzø, Millie, Moxxie, and Lux come together to honor Stolas with the proper send-off he had always wished for, holding a funeral for him. With everyone gathered around Stolas' body, Octavia summons hellfire in her hands and prepares to carefully cremate her father's remains. As she gazes at him one last time, her breath shudders and her vision blurs with tears. In a gesture of support, Blitzø, Loona, and Crymini place their hands on Octavia's shoulders, lending her strength and letting her know that Stolas was free. With a heartfelt goodbye, Octavia ignites the flames to consume Stolas' body. Lux then takes charge of the most meaningful part of the cremation ceremony, telekinetically lifting Stolas' body and ascending to the heavens, soaring through the cosmos, and allowing Stolas' ashes to scatter among the stars as his body was cremated, fulfilling his wish to join the stars upon his death. Everyone held each other as they watched the dazzling display, ensuring that a part of Stolas now resides among the very stars he had helped create, offering a beautiful and fitting farewell to the Goetia prince.

Personality

Stolas embodies a profound reservoir of wisdom and intelligence, his demeanor veiled beneath an air of dignity and aristocracy. This façade conceals a vivid and unconventional aspect of his character, marked by flamboyance, eccentricity, and at times, a penchant for the risqué. He embodies the archetype of an "eccentric wizard," a personality that places considerably less emphasis on upholding his royal standing compared to his spouse. Unlike a substantial portion of Hell's aristocracy, he exhibits a notable absence of prejudice towards those of lower social caste. Notably, he does occasionally subject his imp servants to unwittingly insensitive treatment, albeit without malicious intent.

A true enthusiast, Stolas assumes the role of an unabashed nerd, eagerly sharing his passion for astrology and enthralling others with detailed expositions on stars and meteors, subjects that he alone comprehends fully. His proclivity for eccentricity manifests in his peculiar behaviors and outlandish pursuits, such as engaging in conversations with his grimoire as if it were imbued with sentience. However, beneath this whimsical exterior resides a profound wellspring of sagacity. He possesses extensive insights into the fabric of the Universe, and he wields knowledge of numerous forthcoming events. This acumen empowers him to manipulate the currents of fate, shaping destinies to his advantage or to the benefit of others.

As mentioned before, Stolas has a hidden, extremely perverted side to him, as he is borderline obsessed with Blitzø, and can often be downright sleazy and possessive about him. He is also quite condescending towards Blitzø, baby-talking him by calling him 'Blitzy', and constantly gives the imp creepy phone calls about what he wants Blitzø to do to him during their "rendezvous". Though, after a particularly bad falling out, he begins to see Blitzø as his true equal and shows him more respect, even calling him by his proper name. He craves Blitzø's attention and love so much so that, despite his power, he is willing to put himself in danger and feign weakness so that Blitzø can save him and be his knight in shining armor. He is also rather immature for his age as he displays childish excitement while being at Loo Loo Land and was somewhat easily entertained by the park's attractions.

Despite being one of the more approachable nobles of Hell, Stolas has been proven to have an outright amoral side to him and is implied to have caused mass destruction on Earth, sometimes on the orders of Lucifer or his father, Paimon, and sometimes for his own benefit. At one point, he tasked Blitzø with assassinating a human climate change activist to ensure nothing would be done about Earth's global warming problem so more people die as a consequence of it and end up in Hell, all because he wanted more people to interact with.

Despite seemingly seeming very upbeat, Stolas is a very lonely, self-loathing, and tragic figure; he struggles with depression due to being in a relationship with Stella - who abused him and who he never loved at begin with -, the crushing expectations and emotional abuse from his father, Paimon, and having to do morally questionable things at the behest of his father and superiors. He takes medication every morning to try and remain happy and energetic, and also has a crippling and self-destructive absinthe addiction, the latter of which puts even more strain on his relationship with his daughter, Octavia. Both are these things are strongly implied to be an addiction for him. Most of all, Stolas is desperate for true love.

Stolas is an unwavering adherent to the power of prophecies. He holds a steadfast conviction that once a prophecy is divined, it is destined to come to pass, regardless of any attempts to thwart it. His acceptance of his own impending demise dates back to a distant time, during which he began readying Octavia for the eventuality of his premature death, ensuring her ability to cope in his absence. Yet, Stolas's perspective on prophecies doesn't stop at fatalism. He firmly holds that while the course of prophecies can't be averted, actions can be taken to shape the outcome into a more favorable manifestation rather than succumbing to the bleakest forecasts. This belief is underscored by his active engagement in uncovering the true nature of Hell's impending apocalypse. Through this quest, he seeks to equip the surviving denizens of Hell with the opportunity to transcend their current Infernal existence and forge a more promising life beyond the conflagration.

While he is guilty of many morally questionable activities and mistreating his own servants, Stolas is nothing but gentle and nurturing to those he cares for, especially his daughter, Octavia, enduring all of Stella's abuse and even says that being miserable with his ex-wife was worth it if he could be around Octavia and see her smile. During Leviathan's hostile takeover by flooding the seven rings of Hell, the first thing he did was to find Octavia and take her to safety, even though she was in Stella's custody at the time. He has outright said that he will make anyone who threatens or harms his daughter beg for death. He even insulted Belphegor, the King of Sloth, after he made a coarse comment about Octavia and threatened to kill Leviathan when the King of Envy threatened to harm Octavia. His kindness extends to his associates; he expresses concern towards Blitzø and his coworkers whenever they are in trouble, and finds comfort while attending to his garden of carnivorous Hell-plants.

Stolas is also one of the more merciful and pacifistic rulers of Hell, sparing Agent One and Agent Two and leaving them otherwise unharmed beyond a scare. Despite being a demon prince, he generally avoids killing people and prefers to scar them for life, though he will happily and sadistically kill anyone who threatens or harms Octavia. He also never even tried to defend himself from Stella's beatings, since he believes that, as a man, he should never harm a woman under any circumstances. addition, despite being very perverted and possessive of Blitzø, he has never gone as far as to rape him, and when confronted by a drunk Blitzø, his first instinct was to put him to bed, rather than try anything else. In fact, Stolas appears to despise rapists, as he strongly abhors Valentino, an Overlord who abuses his employees and goes as far as to sexually abuse and rape his lovers and workers. Indeed, while Stolas does not like the Vees in general, it's Valentino whom he holds the most scorn for.

Appearance

Stolas embodies the form of an anthropomorphic owl demon, boasting a statuesque and svelte figure. His countenance bears a distinctive, heart-shaped white facial disc, complemented by a petite ebony beak, reminiscent of an owl's visage. Two sets of reddish-almond eyes are arranged vertically, without discernible irises or pupils, occasionally revealing white highlights in moments of excitement. His limbs extend with a sleek, elongated elegance, adorned in ebony shades, culminating in the quintessential talon-tipped feet associated with owls.

Draped in gray-blue plumage, his feathers transition into a darker hue on his head and cascade down into a lengthy, plume-like tail. Notably, a softer patch of gray-blue fur graces his chest.

While his attire often undergoes variations, Stolas frequently dons a resplendent ensemble. This includes a rich crimson tunic, fastened by a sequence of six interlocked golden buttons along the front, paired with beige breeches. An exquisite feathery tophat takes center stage, embellished with a regal gold crown motif. A flowing burgundy cape, artfully frayed at the edges, cascades down, while a plush collar reminiscent of ermine fur adds opulence. Completing the look, long black gloves are trimmed with delicate white feathers at the elbows, epitomizing his grandeur.

Powers and Abilities

Natural Powers

  • Demonic Transformation: Stolas can voluntarily transform into his gigantic Full Demon Form - which is also assumed to be his true form -, transforming into a demonic raven with jet-black feathers a blood-red underside, large wings, jagged teeth, and two sets of glowing red eyes. He can change the size of this form as he pleases.
  • Immortality: As with all of Hell's most powerful demons, Stolas is incapable of dying through old age or illnesses, and can live indefinitely. However, while Stolas is essentially ageless, he can still be erased by holy weaponry such as angelic blades and holy bullets.
    • Oxygen Independence: Stolas evidently does not require oxygen to survive, as seen by casually entering outer space and even talking and singing in a vacuum.
  • Thermal Resistance: Stolas exhibits a remarkable resilience when it comes to the harsh conditions of outer space, displaying the ability to withstand extreme temperatures and radiation without displaying any signs of discomfort or vulnerability.

Unique Powers

  • Demonic Power: Stolas harnesses an immense reservoir of ancient Goetic power, a testament to his lineage as a Goetic demon, and his primary source of this potency is his mystical grimoire. This exceptional connection endows him with abilities far surpassing those attainable by most non-Goetic demons. Through the mastery of his powers and the arcane knowledge contained within his grimoire, Stolas wields dominion over the vast expanse of the cosmos. He can manipulate cosmic forces and energies, summon constellations at will, and obliterate entire planets with effortless ease. In terms of raw power, only a select few Goetic demons, such as Andrealphus and Paimon, are recognized as his peers or superiors.
    • Constellation Creation: Stolas can create constellations of any size from scratch. He is the creator of many of Hell's constellations and has miniature star patterns scattered throughout his home as decorations.
    • Cosmic Manipulation: Stolas wields immense mastery over the cosmos, endowing him with the ability to shape and manipulate entire solar systems, cosmic forces, and celestial bodies according to his will. His powers encompass the capacity to summon comets and meteors, casually shift stars and planets to his liking, and conjure potent phenomena such as black holes and dark matter. His dominion over the cosmic realm is a testament to his awe-inspiring capabilities.
    • Dimensional Travel: Stolas possesses the remarkable ability to transport himself to various locations, including Earth, outer space, and potentially other dimensions, even without the use of a grimoire. However, for him to travel specifically to Earth, a sigil must be drawn or written, which serves as a key to enable his passage to that particular destination.
    • Electrical Interference: Stolas possesses the uncanny ability to induce disruptions and glitches in electronic devices. This extends to his capacity to manipulate televisions, causing them to power on and off autonomously, move, and operate erratically. He also has the skill to trigger the malfunctioning of lights, leading them to either extinguish or behave irregularly.
    • Enhanced Senses: Stolas was able to sense that an assassin was about to attack him, despite the assassin being completely silent, and was able to react quickly and turn the assailant into stone.
    • Flight: Stolas exhibits the remarkable capability to hover and soar above the ground without the reliance on wings or any visible means of propulsion. His mastery over flight is not limited to earthly bounds; he can also undertake interstellar journeys, traversing the vastness of space with ease.
    • Gyrokinesis: Stolas possesses a formidable spellcasting ability that allows him to manipulate gravity in a distinctive manner. By infusing magic into the ground, he can enact a spell that significantly diminishes gravity's influence, affecting not only himself but also those in the vicinity. In this altered gravitational state, Stolas gains heightened speed and agility, granting him a distinct advantage, while rendering others helpless as they float weightlessly, entirely at the mercy of the spell. This spell even presents a formidable challenge to winged beings like Corey and Peel, who typically have mastery over flight. During his climactic showdown with Andrealphus, Stolas harnessed these gravitational glyphs to ensnare and subject the arrogant Goetia to a brutal ordeal, all while countering Andrealphus' time-stopping abilities with his own formidable powers.
    • Healing: Stolas can heal himself and others from horrific injuries, including mutilations and dismemberments. He can also revive sentient creatures while doing this, bringing his deceased plants back to life after Stella smashed them. However, he cannot heal himself from injuries dealt to him by blessed weapons, even minor ones, which ultimately led to his erasure.
    • Human Shapeshifting: Stolas can almost instantly transform into a convincing human form when needing to travel to Earth.
    • Invisibility: As demonstrated during his siege on D.H.O.R.K.S., Stolas possesses the ability to render himself invisible. Nonetheless, his invisibility has certain limitations; His reflection remains visible, and his presence can be discerned through his footprints and interactions with the surrounding environment, thereby allowing astute observers to detect his concealed presence.
    • Necromancy: Stolas is an expert practitioner in necromancy, allowing him to revive or manipulate the dead.
    • Perception Manipulation: When going to the Dark Tapestry to consult Azathoth, Stolas enchanted his and Blitzø's vision so that they would see Azathoth and the other Colossus in comprehensible forms as to avoid being driven insane by their visage.
    • Petrification: Stolas can voluntarily turn lower beings into stone simply by staring at them. Even Missi Zilla -one of the most powerful Overlords in all of Hell - was quickly turned into a stone in the blink of an eye. However, this attack presumably has no effect on entities above or equal to Stolas' power.
    • Pocket Dimension Creation/Manipulation: Stolas possesses an extraordinary command over the manipulation of pocket dimensions. His abilities in this realm are nothing short of astounding. In a remarkable display of power during the events of "You Will Be Okay," he effortlessly fashioned an entire solar system with a mere wave of his hand. Equally casually, he triggered a cataclysmic explosion of supernova magnitude by obliterating seven planets designed in emulation of the Seven Rings of Hell, presumably leading to the annihilation of the entire pocket dimension. His control over such dimensions stands as a testament to his awe-inspiring capabilities.
    • Possession: Stolas can take possession of anything he pleases, including reanimating dead bodies. His possession is especially powerful as he can possess people from across dimensions, as shown by possessing Agent Two and several dead agents, making them write his sigil so that he could travel to Earth.
    • Portal Creation: Stolas can create magical mirrors and portals that lead to other dimensions or celestial bodies.
    • Precognition: Stolas was born with the unique ability to look into the future by searching Earth's skies for prophecies, both preventable and unpreventable. He also claims to occasionally have premonitions at night that warn him of the near future. During "You Will Be Okay", he foretold both his own death and a future apocalyptic event where the seven rings, and Hell in general, were destroyed by an unknown force, but assured his knowledge that his daughter, Octavia, would survive the event.
    • Scrying: Stolas possesses the ability to conjure magical windows to specific locations of his selection, enabling himself and others to witness unfolding events from a distance. This power is particularly notable during the Harvest Moon Festival, as he employs it to grant the denizens of Wrath the privilege of observing the titular celestial event. Through these magical windows, they can bear witness to the enchanting spectacle of the Harvest Moon Festival as it unfolds in its full splendor.
    • Shapeshifting: Like his father, Paimon, Stolas can take the form of anything he desires, shifting from his primary owl form to any other form effortlessly. It is unknown if he requires his grimoire to do so or can simply transform on his own accord.
    • Star Creation: Stolas can create stars in mere seconds, even without his grimoire. He and Octavia created their own star to serve as a symbol of their relationship in only three seconds.
    • Telekinesis: Stolas can lift objects or even other entities using magic. There does not seem to be a limit to what he can move using this ability, as he is capable of moving stars and planets without any visible effort. Whenever he uses this power, the target become enveloped in a blue aura.
    • Teleportation: Stolas is capable of teleporting to his desired location through blue fire without the use of portals, leaving behind a massive crater while doing so.

Abilities

  • Gardening: Stolas maintained a greenhouse full of demonic, sentient plants which he cared for.
  • Intimidation: Stolas can use his immense powers and imposing Full Demon Form to frighten others or scar them for life, as shown when he used his true form to scare Agent One and Agent Two.
  • Multilingualism: Stolas can speak many demonic tongues in addition to human languages such as English and Latin.

Weaknesses

  • Divine Intervention: While an extremely powerful demon prince, angelic weapons or divine power are capable of erasing Stolas' soul or critically injuring him. Being restrained by blessed objects such as blessed rope can also dampen his powers significantly, effectively bringing him down to the level of an imp. Indeed, Izzi, a mere sinner, was able to end Stolas' life with a holy bullet to the Goetia's neck.
  • Reliance on Grimoire: Stolas' remarkable powers are intricately linked to his grimoire, and as a result, their potency diminishes the farther he is from it. Furthermore, if his grimoire were to be somehow destroyed, he would experience a complete loss of all his unique and extraordinary abilities, rendering him bereft of his formidable magical capabilities.

Relationships

Family

Paimon

Paimon is Stolas' father. For the longest time, Stolas deeply reversed his father and was very protective of the Goetia king's honor, despite Paimon barely giving Stolas any attention or care when he was a child. Stolas also revealed that Paimon was physically abusive to him, but did not angst over it too much and insisted that his father was merely a forthright parent rather than outright abusive, making excuses for his father's blatantly abusive and uncaring treatment of him. Stolas was willing to do anything to please his father, including causing the mass deaths of humans over on Earth.

Nonetheless, the dynamic between Stolas and Paimon shifts as Stolas comes to terms with the fact that he was genuinely mistreated and denied affection by Paimon. This realization occurs during Paimon's visit to confront the former prince, triggered by Stolas losing his royal titles and defying Lucifer. Stolas' response is intense, unleashing a torrent of emotions and holding his once cherished father accountable for the hardships he endured for their family's status. The emotional upheaval leads Stolas to even propose a physical confrontation, which Paimon coldly rejected before leaving Stolas to either run away forever or face the consequences of his actions.

Andrealphus

Andrealphus is Stolas' envious half-brother. Due to Andrealphus' covetous behavior, Stolas overall views him in a very negative manner, especially after being reminded of his royal titles. It is made clear that the two were not close at all when they were children and hardly saw each other outside of Goetia gatherings. The manner in which Andrealphus handled the debacle between himself and Stella, along with him attempting to get close to Octavia, caused Stolas to lose any modicum of respect he might have had for Andrealphus.

Despite the grave threats posed by Andrealphus, including the endangerment of Octavia's life and his attempt to usurp Stolas' family name, Stolas firmly adhered to his principles. Even in the face of defeat and when Andrealphus was at his most vulnerable, Stolas refrained from taking the life of his adversary and half-brother, refusing to stoop to Andrealphus' cowardly level. It was only when Andrealphus' ill-fated assault against Stolas led to him being impaled on jagged ice, resulting in immense suffering, that Stolas reluctantly consented to I.M.P ending Andrealphus' misery through a merciful death.

Stella

Stella is Stolas' ex-wife. Even from childhood, Stolas disliked and was terrified of Stella, crying when Paimon told Stolas he was arranged to marry her and showed him a picture of Stella strangling Hell puppies, and informing Stolas of his arranged marriage to her.

Despite his circumstances, Stolas tried to put effort into his relationship with Stella and give her a happy life, but she only rewarded his kindness with abuse and mistreatment, berating him over his missteps or outright assaulting him when he gained the courage to stand up to her. She also openly ridiculed Stolas to her associates, calling him a "boring stiff" in bed. Despite being significantly stronger than her, Stolas never defended himself or attacked Stella as it was against his principles to harm a lady, even in retaliation. When Stella would become violent, Stolas would try to get away from her, which Stella only used to further taunt him for not facing her like a man.

Stolas and Stella's marriage hit a turning point after Stolas began sleeping with Blitzø, leading to Stolas humiliating Stella in front of her company. She became even more short-tempered and violent with him and began plotting ways to kill him, even informing Lucifer of his deal with Blitzø and putting his (and Octavia's) lives in danger for the sake of revenge. Still, Stella's increased cruelty led Stolas to become bolder around her, even insulting her directly to her face. Stella was successfully able to have Stolas' royal status revoked, taking over his ancestral home and gaining custody over Octavia as the prince was labeled an outlaw, and sadistically reveled in Stolas losing everything he held dear.

In their ultimate confrontation, Stella cunningly lured Stolas into a dire situation by leveraging the threat to Octavia's life, well aware of the profound attachment he held for their daughter. Subsequently, she subjected Stolas to a degrading and agonizing experience, after having him bound with sacred rope. Throughout this excruciating ordeal, Stolas exhibited remarkable resilience by confronting Stella with her own hypocrisy, a desperate attempt to remind her of her inability to salvage their shattered relationship.

Remarkably, Stolas appeared to remain oblivious to Stella's demise at the hands of the Exorcists following the chaos of their confrontation.

Octavia

Octavia is Stolas' daughter. Stolas' affection for Octavia surpasses all else in existence, driving him to brave any conceivable agony on her behalf. Throughout her early years, he dedicated extensive hours to be by her side—engaging in play, lavishing her with desires both articulated and unspoken. He even willingly sets aside his duties to strengthen their connection. Upon learning of Octavia's dream in which she parted from him, Stolas emphatically reassured her of his enduring presence. Subsequently, the father and daughter created a star together to serve as a symbol of their profound bond.

Because he was prophesied to die young, Stolas has been preparing Octavia for his death in subtle ways, such as teaching her his assortment of spells and how he performs his duties, so that she will be okay when he dies. Later, he convinced Blitzø to keep Octavia safe if he were to die before she came of age, since he gravely fears that Stella will abuse Octavia just as she did to him when he isn't around to protect her or take Stella's abuse for her.

Stolas has never told Octavia about his prophesied death, and has done everything in his power to prevent her from knowing of it, likely to spare his daughter of any extreme stress. Andrealphus believes that informing Octavia of Stolas' secret will the the straw that breaks their relationship once and for all.

Despite his exile from Hell and his unwavering determination to unravel the mysteries surrounding Hell's impending peril, Stolas willingly returned to his home realm to shield Octavia from the threats posed by Stella and Andrealphus. This act stands as a poignant testament to the depth of his love for his daughter.

Tragically, under the coercive influence of Andrealphus and Stella, Stolas found himself compelled to disclose a painful truth to Octavia—that he was destined to meet an untimely demise, much to her horror. In this somber moment, fully aware that these could be his final words to his beloved daughter, Stolas conveyed his profound admiration and affection. He acknowledged that Octavia was a far better daughter than he could have ever hoped for and wholeheartedly praised her for her stark contrast to Stella, recognizing her as a shining light in his life.

Upon witnessing Octavia wield her ice powers for the first time, Stolas, despite his injuries and fatigue, couldn't contain his excitement and geeky admiration for his daughter's remarkable abilities. He showered her with effusive praise for her newfound capabilities.

After the tumultuous battle with Andrealphus, Stolas and Octavia finally found a moment of respite to converse. Initially, Stolas attempted to break the tension by awkwardly complimenting Octavia on her new haircut, but it did little to ease the atmosphere. Realizing the gravity of the situation, he mustered the courage to apologize for his failure to share the painful truth of his impending demise with her. However, before he could finish his sentence, Octavia rushed over and embraced him tightly. Stolas was taken aback by this unexpected outpouring of affection but deeply moved by the confirmation that Octavia still loved him despite all the challenges they had faced. In response, he warmly returned her embrace.

Regrettably, Octavia and Stolas' reunion proved to be tragically brief, marred by the abrupt and fatal gunshot inflicted by Izzi. In his final moments, Stolas found solace in comforting the deeply pained and distraught Octavia. He imparted heartfelt words of wisdom, urging her to not let his demise rule her life, and telling her to embrace life to its fullest, cultivate meaningful friendships, and find love. As he passed away in her arms, he reassured her that even in death, he would remain a vigilant guardian, watching over her from beyond.

Allies

Blitzø

Stolas and Blitzo have a very complicated relationship. They had a one-night stand some time ago, though Blitzø only slept with him for Stolas' grimoire. Much to Blitzø's chagrin, Stolas has not forgotten the night and has a habit of calling Blitzø for favors which his business provides in a clingy, flirtatious manner. And yet, when Stolas wants Blitzo to get something done, he resorts to sexual and violent half-threats. Despite his behavior about Blitzø, Stolas is respectful of Blitzø's consent and autonomy, putting the imp to bed whenever he is drunk, rather than trying anything else.

While Stolas seems to genuinely love Blitzø and want something of a relationship with him despite hierarchal expectations, Blitzø at times seems to dislike Stolas, since he believes that Stolas sees him as nothing but a toy for his pleasure.

In "Let Blind Idiot Gods Lay", Stolas and Blitzø are able to team up and set aside what happened at Ozzie's for the sake of solving Hell's apocalypse together. On the way to the Dark Tapestry, however, Blitzø cannot help but bring up the incident at Ozzie's, which Stolas attempts to handwave. Wanting to break the ice, Blitzø then asked Stolas if he truly loved him for himself, or simply loves the way Blitzø makes him feel. After some contemplation, Stolas gave Blitzø an honest and blunt answer and said that while he does genuinely care about Blitzø, the feeling of being loved by Blitzø appeals to him more, and he is not really in love with Blitzø as much as he is in love with the affection and "love" he craves but has never received, which clearly upset Blitzø to a degree.

The two were still able to work together to get to the Dark Tapestry, and Stolas protected Blitzø from Andrealphus' ice minions. After escaping the Dark Tapestry, Stolas revealed to Blitzø his prophesied death and fear of what would happen to Octavia should he die before she comes of age and is still under Stell'as supervision. He requested that Blitzø take care of Octavia after his death, even calling the imp the best demon he knows. Though Blitzø scoffed at this and told Stolas that he was putting a lot of pressure on him, he agreed to take care of Octavia, with some reluctance.

Charlie Magne

Stolas and Charlie enjoy each other's company and were initially very close friends, especially at social gatherings, with the two mostly bonding over their love of gardening, with Stolas giving her advice on how to maintain a demonic garden. Stolas is one of the few demons who is actually respectful of Charlie's position.

However, Stolas and Charlie's friendship was destroyed when Blitzø confirmed Charlie the validity of the allegations of Stolas' illegal dealings. Charlie was enraged that Stolas would not only risk exposing Hell, not only carelessly giving away his extremely powerful grimoire, but also willingly aiding in the mass murder of humans all for his own benefit. She confronted Stolas and showed virtually no mercy towards him, red-faced and screaming in ballistic fury, telling Stolas that he would be arrested for his crimes against Hell. Still, Charlie still showed signs of respecting Stolas as she reminded him that Octavia still loves and looks up to him and that she took no absolutely no pleasure in punishing the person she used to call friend, especially when Stolas was at his lowest point.

Stolas confided in his grimoire that he still views Charlie as a friend despite their falling out.

Enemies

Valentino

Stolas holds an intense disdain for Valentino due to the latter's mistreatment of his associates. He takes great pleasure in actively undermining Valentino, often seeking opportunities to crush the moth's pride by publicly insulting him and critiquing his fashion sense through his social media accounts.

Others

Asmodeus

Stolas expresses deep respect for his king, Asmodeus, while at the same time seemingly fearing him. It is implied that Asmodeus is the one who gave Stolas and power and position that he has, though Stolas has, in recent years, fallen out of the King of Lust's favor due to his relationship with Blitzø. Asmodeus openly ridicules and disrespects Stolas by referring to him as weak and desperate, and smugly taunts the Goetic prince. Though, while he does actively taunt Stolas for being "desperate" enough to sleep with an imp, he does give Stolas a bit of backward praise as his lusting for Blitzø was progressively destroyed his family life, which Asmodeus happily proclaimed was the "spirit of lust".

Belphegor

Stolas and Belphegor share an oddly tentative and unusual "friendship," stemming from the King of Sloth's historical ties with the Goetia family. One curious point of connection is their mutual fondness for I-Scream. While Belphegor displays a certain level of esteem for Stolas, addressing him as both "Prince Stolas" and "Grand Prince," despite the difference in their ranks, he readily adopts an intimidating stance when provoked by the Goetia prince's taunts. He even goes so far as to make veiled threats of employing his drones to pelt Stolas with blessed bullets, all because of a minor offense. Despite this dynamic, Stolas remains unafraid of Belphegor's bluster and meets the lazy King of Sloth's challenges head-on, fully aware of their shared history and Belphegor's inherent disinclination to actually carry out his threats.

Quotes

Chapter 4

"This theatrical piece doth unnerveth me... (laughs) Can you believe we used to talk like that?"
— Stolas while conversing with several high-class demons.
"Stolas: (he walks up to Belphegor, who is passed out on Stolas' coach with a VR headset on and a jug of spilled I-Scream in his arms) Sire? (singsongy) Siiire?
Belphegor: (jolts back up) MOTHER? (he turns to see Stolas) OH, IT IS YOU. (he removes the headset) WHY DID YOU INTERRUPT ME FROM MY VERY IMPORTANT NAP, PRINCE STOLAS?
Stolas: Well, I don't mind the pleasure of your company, but Stella's quite upset about your falling asleep after our meeting and your... (he looks down at the spilled ice cream) Spillage.
Belphegor: INDEED. I HAD TO MUTE MY SOUND SYSTEMS TO SLEEP THROUGH HER IRRITATING SQUAKING. HOW DO YOU ENDURE HER CONSTANT NONSENSICAL PRATTLING ON A DAILY BASIS?
Stolas: Well... It wasn't my decision...
Belphegor: (he looks at the Goetia family portrait of Stolas, Octavia, and Stella) I'M THE MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE ENTITY IN ALL CREATION, AND EVEN I CAN'T DECIPHER WHY ONE WOULD TIE THEMSELVES DOWN WITH A FAMILY. (he looks at Stolas) PERHAPS YOU CAN ENLIGHTEN ME, AS I SEE NO APPEAL. DATES, OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES, AND SATAN FORBID, FAMILY GATHERINGS? BOOOOOOOORING!
Stolas: I beg to differ. What was the name of that friend you had? She was like your family, no?
Belphegor: KAREN IS NOT MY FAMILY. SHE IS A SUPERBRAIN MACHINE INTERFACE BUILT FOR THE CONVENIENCE OF MYSELF AND OTHERS. AND SHE CAN DO FAR MORE THAN A LOVELESS WIFE OR THAT EMO HERMIT YOU CALL A DAUGHTER.
Stolas: (grimacing) Alright. If you have nothing of value to say, then I kindly request you to leave. Do you not have more important matters to attend to in your ring?
Belphegor: (gets onto his hover chair) I HAVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TO DO THAT FOR ME. YOU USED TO ENJOYABLE COMPANY, PRINCE STOLAS... UNTIL YOUR FAMILY CAME ALONG.
Stolas: With all due respect, sire, I'll have you know that I'm very happy with my family, thank you very much.
Belphegor: IS THAT SO? (Belphegor presses a button on his chair's armrest that plays various audio clips of Stolas and Stella's domestic disputes, which makes Stolas visibly uneasy) HUH, IMAGINE THAT. NO WONDER YOU FELL OUT OF OZZIE'S FAVOR. (Stolas looks down) WHAT HAPPENED TO THE OLD STOLAS?
Stolas: He grew up. ...Something you should try.
Belphegor: (his eyes become redder) IT IS NOT WISE TO INSULT YOUR SUPERIOR, STOLAS. (Belphegor presses his wrist, de-cloaking several attack drones that are surrounding Stolas) THESE DRONES ARE ARMED WITH HOLY BULLETS. I COULD ERASE YOU AT THIS MOMENT, AND NO ONE WOULD DO SAY ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
Stolas: (with a stern expression) You won't. Even you aren't that petty.
Belphegor: (after a moment of suspenseful silence, he presses a button that cloaks the drones) EXCELLENT OBSERVATION, GREAT PRINCE. IT WOULD BE MOST UNFORTUNATE FOR OUR LONG FRIENDSHIP TO END WITH SPILLED BLOOD. (his hover chair slowly moves to the door before stopping) IT ALMOST SLIPPED MY MIND... MY DRONES WERE SURVEILLING IMP CITY THE OTHER DAY AND I COULD HAVE SWORN THEY SPOTTED A BAND OF IMPS IN POSSESSION OF YOUR GRIMOIRE. CARE TO EXPLAIN?
Stolas: Just a little trade is all.
Belphegor: AND THEY ENTERED A PORTAL WHICH APPEARED TO LEAD TO... EARTH. YOU ARE AWARE THAT EVEN YOU ARE BARRED FROM GRANTING OTHER DEMONS ACCESS TO THE MORTAL PLANE.
Stolas: I have everything-
Belphegor: AS I SAID, NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO MAKE AN ENEMY OF ME. I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR DEALINGS, BUT IF, SAY, LUCIFER FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS 'TRADE'? I'D BE VERY WORRIED FOR THE SAFETY OF YOU AND YOUR 'HAPPY' LITTLE FAMILY.
Stolas: Are you- Are you threatening me?
Belphegor: ...NOPE. JUST SOMETHING FOR YOU TO THINK ABOUT. (he moves to the door again before stopping) PRINCE STOLAS? (Stolas looks up) ABOUT LAST NIGHT... YOUR RECOMMENDATION FOR THE I-SCREAM LAST NIGHT WAS MOST VALUABLE. 'RAISIN-THE-DEAD' IS MY NEW FAV. (points at Stolas with one hand and gives the thumbs-up sign with the other hand before exiting Stolas' mansion, leaving the prince alone to sulk)
"
— Belphegor and Stolas in a flashback.

Chapter 5

"Bethesda: You mean the little devils that Leviathan and I brought into this world? They're just broken, useless tools. So I discarded them as such.
Stolas: With all due respect, my queen, that is a terrible philosophy to hold. Our children should be cherished as gifts from Azathoth himself. My Via is a treasure made from only the finest stars.
Bethesda: And you spoiled the attention-seeking brat to where she's grown brazen enough to steal your grimoire because her feelings were hurt. It's no wonder she turned out to be such a disobedient wretch.
Stolas: ..Octavia has always been a... Curious child. I've always tried to teach her right from wrong, my queen. As a child, I learned discipline from my father's fist, but... I didn't want that for her, so I tried to raise her in a way I thought right. I'm not perfect, but I do my damned best to teach my daughter the best that I can, for she is my pride and joy, and I wish for her to be prepared for when I join the stars. I'm sure most fathers have had some moments with their children where they aren't proud of what they've done. Every day, I try to make up to her and let her know she's loved. ...She is my child.
Bethesda: (chuckles) Such a sentimental filibuster. Shall I bring you a cookie? (titters) My spawn are not like yours, lower being. The spawn of Leviathan and myself are inherently evil. Why should I care about how they feel or treat them like equals? They are weapons of sin and chaos and should be treated as such. (Stolas bows his head as Bethesda walks away with her head held high) You are weak, Stolas. Any dignity or legacy your family possessed has been swiftly crushed upon the shores of your incompetence. You live and breathe off of Lucifer's mercy like the puling leech you are. (smirks) You're not a monster. Too weak to carry out cruelty and evil that Leviathan and I have committed, and I hope you are aware that Paimon sorely regrets electing you as his heir.
"
— Stolas and Bethesda's confrontation at Castle Magne.
"Stolas: Oh! Prince Seviathan! Such an honor to see you once more! (he bows) Or should I say King Seviathan?
Seviathan: (laughs lightly) Well, if it isn't the Great Horny Owl! And, eh... Not yet. Mother's... Not making it easy.
Stolas: Oh... Well, it's still a pleasure to see you out and about in lieu of recent events! How is your sister doing?
Seviathan: About the same.
Stolas: ...A spoiled, vindictive sea bitch?
Seviathan: Eeyup.
Stolas: Well, some things never do change. (as Seviathan attempts to walk away, Stolas puts his hand on his shoulder) Seviathan... I know this has been a tumultuous time for you. But I'm very proud of the man you've become.
Seviathan: (chuckles) You sure about that?
Stolas: (laughs) Of course! I've watched you grow. You and Charlie used to care for my little Via. You two would stargaze with her on our palace roof, reading stories until she fell asleep in your laps. And despite everything your father put you through, you've remained kind.
Seviathan: I'm... I'm not as 'kind' as you think I am. If it wasn't for Charlie, I would have become a monster, no different from Father, Mother, or Hellsa. If you're gonna laud someone, praise her
"
— Stolas and Seviathan at the gathering of Hell's nobles.
"Stolas: Sire? S- Sire?!
Peel: FUCK OFF, HE'S BUSY!
Lucifer: (impales Peel with his cane, silencing him) Good evening, Prince Stolas! It's just fantastic to see you and your family again! Though, in light of recent events, I guess it's not much quite a family anymore, is it? (giggles) Simpler times. I remember your father showing you to me when you were an owlet. (whispers) He hates you, by the way. (laughs and merrily skips off)
Stolas: B- But, sire! (he follows Lucifer) I had a dream last night...
Lucifer: Did it involve killing me? Every demon has that dream once in a while. (singsongy) Keep dreaming!
Stolas: Listen, sire! This was no ordinary dream, but a premonition. There was destruction, screaming, upheaval-
Lucifer: Sounds lovely!
Stolas: No, NOT lovely! I've been fearing this for quite some time, sire, but I didn't expect it to come so soon. The end of Hell itself could very well be upon us!
Lucifer: (he stops in his tracks) R-... Really? ...Ah, poo! (in an upbeat tone; continues walking) I'll just move on. Rebuild. No biggie.
Stolas: No BIGGIE?! But what about us demons?! We need Hell to maintain our power!
Lucifer: N'awwww, isn't that just too bad? (snickers)
Stolas: (sneers; under his breath) You bastard...
Lucifer: (stops in his tracks again, finally facing Stolas) ...What was that again?
Stolas: My family, all of us are in grave danger! I won't stand idly by and wait to be erased while you could easily use your unfathomable power-
Lucifer: (he sprouts his angel wings and assumes a more demonic form before attacking Stolas, slamming and pinning him into the wall while strangling him with one arm) To What? Do this?
Stolas: (choking) S- sire... Please...
Lucifer: (he hurls Stolas on the ground, holding his head down with his hand) I've had just enough of you little demons and your endless, annoying disrespect. I know of your rendezvous with those pathetic imps, so if this little fairy tale vision comes to fruition, consider that you and your family's inevitable punishment. I AM THE RINGMASTER! Therefore, you all will act as I declare, or you could choose to serve as an example, just like Leviathan. I hope this is crystal clear to you, and your opinion and council means absolutely fucking nothing to me.
Stolas: (wheezing) ...Very clear, sire...
Lucifer: (he shifts back to normal) Awesome! (he hums cheerfully, fixing his hat and bowtie before prancing off)
Stolas: (struggling to get on his knees) I... (Lucifer stops) I will prevent this from occurring, sire. I... I just require assistance.
Lucifer: ...I don't give a shit. (he teleports away in a flash of light, leaving Stolas battered on the floor)
"
— Lucifer being confronted by Stolas on Hell's impending apocalypse.
"Octavia: Daddy... Would you ever abandon me?
Stolas: Oh, sweetheart, I could never, ever abandon you. You're the heart of my world. Why would you even mention such a frivolous notion?
Octavia: (a hint of worry in her voice) Well, I just... Can't stop thinking about that dream I had. You were gone and I was all alone... and you always say that our dreams can be visions of the future...
Stolas: (laughs softly) Not always, dear! Dreams can be mysterious things. My little owlette, dreams are like whispers of possibilities. But listen closely; no matter where life takes us, you're my brightest star. I'll be there to read you to sleep, chase the monsters away, and even when I join the stars above, I'll watch over you. Here... (Stolas puts his hand over Octavia's and, after a couple of seconds, a star forms in their intertwined hands) This is our star, Via. It's our eternal bond, lighting our paths forever. As long as it shines bright, we will always be with each other. (Stolas slowly sends the star into the sky, wrapping his arm around Octavia and watching it with tears in his eyes)
"
— Stolas to a pre-teen Octavia while they were watching the stars.
"Stolas: Welcome to my observatory. It's my little home away from home! Feel free to make yourself at home, though do be sure to wipe your feet. It's only polite. Oh, look! We're just in time for the Ursid meteor shower! I guess the Extermination is on the horizon. Did you know the Ursids are so named because they appear to fan out from the vicinity of the bright orange star Kochab, specifically in the constellation of Ursa Minor, the little bear? Bet you didn't know that. Bango got 'eeeem. There's your new thing learned for the day.
Husk: Try not to break a wrist jerking yourself off, egghead.
Baxter: I already knew zat that fact!
Stolas: (smirking) Really? Well, how about this? Did you know the Southern Taurids were born of-
Stolas/Baxter: Comet Encke, whereas the Northern Taurids was born from the asteroid humans refer to as 2004 TG10, which they speculate a large fragment of the aforementioned Encke due to its homogenous parameters
Stolas: (excitedly) YOU'RE A COSMOLOGY SCHOLAR AS WELL?! (he notices his attitude and tries to maintain composure, smirking widely) I think you and I are going to be very swell confidants.
"
— Stolas introducing the hotel crew to his massive observatory.
"Feel free to browse my menagerie of literature! Did you know, I've written my very own astronomy text? I'll even let you look upon my magnum opus, 'The Greater Key of Stolas'. You can peruse its pages and learn about the Universe. Though, be warned! Many of the secrets of creation reside beyond the pages of my book. (waves his hands spookily while walking backwards) Tread carefully, travelersssss...."
— Stolas to the hotel crew.
"Stolas: My father did not 'abuse' me. He was a stern parent. There was a good reason for every beating and punishment he dished out. Rather, he was a firm, role model parental figure.
Vaggie: How could you call a parent who beat their own child a 'role model' to other parents?! In what world is that considered acceptable parenting?!
Stolas: In Hell, darling. (he chuckles) Parents must discipline their demon spawn, otherwise, they end up unruly and wild. I was raised to respect my elders. I am who I am because of him, not in spite of him. We, our bloodline, wouldn't be where it is without him. He's given our family everything we could desire... (he gives a dead stare, remembering Paimon beating and berating him) ...So, do well to avoid insulting him in my presence, please.
"
— Stolas after Fergus had insulted Paimon.
"Come on... We're almost there... (to his grimoire) Connect Eocht 5 to Eocht 67, are you mad?! ...Well, that's preposterous! Eocht 67 needs to remain with Licton 937, or we'll throw off the gravitational coordination and the space-time continuum of Spectol-Ein 400 will surely be torn asunder! Oh, this is a real headache. ...Did you not just hear what I said?! I- (he listens to his grimoire) I understand, but- (he listens again) Resigned to petty insults, hmm? Of course, I am not blind!!! (he listens to his grimoire) No, this is you not listening to me. (he listens to his grimoire; sighing) ...I do listen to you, but I'm the scholar here, not you! Now be a good book and just... Lay there, silently!"
— Stolas arguing with his grimoire while trying to connect constellations.
"Charlie: Stolas...
Stolas: (he stares up at Charlie, a weak smile on his face) Oh, Charlie, my dear friend... I know you're disappointed in me.
Charlie: 'Friend'? 'DISAPPOINTED'?! (her eyes flash red) YOU FUCKING BETRAYED ME! YOU BETRAYED YOUR OWN KIND! This cannot be forgiven!
Stolas: Princess, in my state of weakness, I made a grave mistake. I... I just needed someone to make me happy.
Charlie: What about Octavia?! (goes into her Full Demon Form) WHAT ABOUT HER?! She was all you needed! AND NOW SHE'S FUCKING MISERABLE because of you!!! WAS SHE JUST ANOTHER OBLIGATION?!
Stolas: (somewhat sternly) Leave Octavia out of this! Princess, you don't understand-
Charlie: DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE TRY TO JUSTIFY YOUR ACTIONS! I thought you were better than this! (with tears streaming down her face and her voice breaking) I TRUSTED YOU, YOU FUCKING BASTARD! (the ground around them begins cracking from the intensity of Charlie's rage)
Vaggie: H-Hun, calm down...-
Charlie: You knew about Hell's overpopulation problem! Something I've been trying to stop for centuries! AND YOU WOULD EXACERBATE IT JUST BECAUSE YOU WERE 'LONELY'?! (with hellfire shooting from her, destroying the environment around them) WHAT WERE YOU FUCKING THINKING?!
Vaggie: (puts her hand on Charlie's shoulder) Charlie.
Charlie: (she looks at Vaggie, her expression softening as she contains her rage, but keeps staring at Stolas with pain and hatred in her eyes) Stolas, former Prince of the Ars Goetia, as crown Princess of Hell and the heir apparent to the throne of Lucifer Magne, I declare that you are to be arrested and tried for your crimes against Hell effective after we stop this apocalypse.
Stolas: (he lowers his head) All the unforgivable things I've done for my father's sake, your father's sake... And my own. Capital punishment would be insufficient for me. (he looks up into space) I have nothing to say for myself.
Charlie: (wiping her tears) You can't even look at me... It's too late for a pity party! I would have helped you find a better solution, but this... This is inexcusable. I didn't want to do this, but humans are just as much my people as sinners are, and I'm not going to let you or I.M.P off easy! (she opens a portal back to Hell, looking back at Stolas) ...Via still loves you. She won't be happy for either of us. (she exits the portal with Vaggie, leaving Stolas alone)
"
— Stolas is brutally excoriated by Charlie.
"Stolas: Ah, King Leviathan. (Stolas bows in greeting, smiling wide as he extends his hand as a gesture of greeting) It has been quite a while since I last beheld your presence. How fare you, my King of Envy?
Leviathan: (he snarls at Stolas' gesture) Ye reckon I'd deign to rub shoulders with one who... fraternizes with the common folk? And of the same gender, no less. Ye're a bold one, Stolas. Bein' of royal blood, I'll be civil enough to indulge in this discourse. But mark me words, it'll be a brief encounter.
Stolas: (he narrows his eyes and lowers his arm) I would caution your tongue, Your Highness. I am not one who tolerates being belittled or insulted, even by my superiors. So I would advise you to mind your manners when speaking of me.
Leviathan: Ye dare bark commands at a Sin, a superior being, as though I were some lowly serf?! I'll tolerate no insults from anyone! No one! Ye'll beg forgiveness this instant, or I'll grind ye and yer entire bloodline to dust. Cast ye all into the depths like chum.
Stolas: (his eyes glow bright) I am the Prince of the Ars Goetia, the right hand of King Paimon himself. And you will address me as such, regardless of our titles! (the entire right side of his body morphs into his Full Demon Form) Now, you apologize. Or else I will force an apology out of you, King of Envy.
Leviathan: (multiple eyes and teeth sprout throughout his body) Ye dare demand an apology from a Von Eldritch! Ye've no clue how fortunate ye are that I hold back me wrath and discipline. I could rend ye to shreds with a flick of me tentacles, and mayhaps I still will. Clearly, Paimon taught ye many lessons, but respect for yer superiors was not among 'em. Go on then, lad... Try and wring that apology out of me.
Stolas: (Stolas and Leviathan have an intense stare down; after ten solid seconds, Stolas returns to normal, knowing he is looking into the eyes of a monster) Fine... I yield. (Leviathan smirks and goes to walk away) You’ve made a very powerful enemy tonight, King of Envy.
Leviathan: (he turns back to Stolas, furious) Do not dare to address me in such a manner again, says I! Playin' me adversary would imply ye possess any sort of challenge to me. Ye don't deserve yer title as 'prince', for ye've shown yerself to be no different from the common trash. I'll grant ye a second chance, but I won't abide by this a second time. Should ye fail to show me the respect I'm owed, I'll offer ye nothin' but the same disrespect in return.
Stolas: (he dusts himself) Very well. But, know this... If you cross me again, King of Envy, I will not forgive you again.
Leviathan: Belay these petty threats, lesser one. I've devoured angels before ye were fertilizin' from yer egg. I am superior to ye in every way. Ye lack the capacity to surpass me in any such regard! ...But... yer impudence intrigues me. What delusion leads ye to believe ye stand a chance against me?
Stolas: (he looks down before glaring at Leviathan) I am a prince and commander of Hell's imp caste, the second-in-command to the King of the Goetia himself: Paimon. I am a skilled mage and warrior worthy of Lucifer's favor and council. If you are not careful, it will only take a single mistake for me to end you.
Leviathan: (he grins maliciously) At long last, yer words carry weight. I've a proposition for ye. What if we were to unite our strengths? Together, we could seize control of all Hell, overthrow Lucifer, and then set our sights on Heaven until all creation bows to our will. I swear to ye, as me ally, ye'll find yerself far more esteemed than as me enemy.
Stolas: (he narrows his eyes) So, my dreams were correct. You desire the throne of Lucifer.
Leviathan: (laughs) Even yer dreams lack foresight. I've always been a superior, worthier king than that manchild. I'll indeed strip him of his throne, but I've grander designs. I won't settle for dominion over just Hell. I shall reign supreme over all realms. And mark me words, this may be yer final opportunity for salvation, says I.
Stolas: This... May be a tempting proposal, my liege. (he ponders the possibilities) What exactly would it entail? If we were to join forces, I wish for you to provide me with a list of expectations.
Leviathan: (he chuckles) The terms of our alliance are clear: Ye'll bend the knee to me. Ye'll carry out me every whim without question. Together, we'll crush any soul or obstacle in our path. There'll be no defiance from ye. None of that questioning of me authority. To accept yer role, ye need only swear allegiance to me. And these terms extend to yer family as well. Ye'll all relinquish yer loyalty to Lucifer and pledge it to me. Simple enough directives for lowly beings such as yerselves. Do we have a deal, o' prince?
Stolas: (he glares at Leviathan) You dare to call the Ars Goetia lowborn?
Leviathan: Compared to meself, indeed y'ar. I am a Sin, but more pressingly, I am the most high apostle of Azathoth. You are a lowborn compared to me. Them's true
Stolas: Either way, I am not your subject or slave, King of Envy. I refuse to serve any being, besides Lucifer and Paimon. To even suggest that I would bend the knee to you is... Insulting. (he rolls his eyes) That being said... I have a counter-offer. How about we make an equal alliance? We both work together towards mutual benefits and goals?
Leviathan: (he bursts into laughter) Ye believe anyone, especially ye, is equal to me?! Ye reckon I'd lower meself to yer level? I'd gain naught from that. I'm the one leadin' the charge here, and I've bestowed upon ye information only I should possess. (his expression darkens) So, ye'll either submit and pledge yer allegiance, or I'll consign yer soul to the abyss of the Dark Tapestry, and make ye watch as I subject yer daughter to unimaginable torment, makin' her plead for death, weepin' and wailin' for mercy, wonderin' where her daddy is to rescue her. Both of ye will face yer worst nightmares and beg fer a death that'll never come. THAT shall be the fate of all once I ascend my throne. ...Which will it be?
Stolas: (Stolas’ eyes glow brighter as a rage unlike anything ever washes over him; he shifts into his Full Demon Form, the stars seeming to descend from the sky, red lightning shooting from all directions, and an eclipse blocking the moon) I will NEVER serve you. (he gets face-to-face with Leviathan, who stares at him coldly) And if you dare harm my daughter, I swear to all that is unholy, I will dedicate my existence to ensure that it will be THE LAST THING YOU EVER DO.
Leviathan: ....So ye opt for option B? How disappointingly predictable of ye. (he begins exiting the room as Stolas remains in his Full Demon Form) Here's a prophecy for ye, on the house. We'll discover soon enough if ye can make good on these threats, O' Prince. (he chuckles) And it will be a sight to behold. (Leviathan consumes himself in green fire and vanishes, leaving Stolas to compose himself)
"
— Leviathan and Stolas' confrontation, a day before Leviathan's attack on Hell.
"Stolas: ...Kyrie, qui generat creaturam. Domine, quem urit creatura, exaudi orationem meam, et in nomine tuo invoca auxilium... (he kneels in respect, awaiting Azathoth)
Azathoth: (it rises from the Lack of Blackness, towering over Stolas as dramatic music blares in the background) What... DO YOU WAAAAANT?! I'll have you know I was very comfortable before your idiotic babbling!
Blitzø: Yeah, well Stolas dragged me out here to watch him have a Q&A sesh with some prick named ass-cum-sock or some fucking shit, so let's get that the fuck out of the way so you can go back to fucking masturbating in your cum cocoon or whatever the fuck goes down in there, 'kay?
Azathoth: (he gasps loudly) THE SASSSS!!! What even are you creatures? (he uses his limbs to poke, pull and prode at Stolas as he stands there awkwardly) We have an avian organism with digitigrade features, subpar bone structure, bald spots, likely from stress and 95,000 feathers, which is an unusual number for a bird of your girth.
Stolas: G-girth?!
Azathoth: You must be one of those cherubs! The feathers are a dead giveaway. Given your size you must be one of God's favorites! (Azathoth faces Blitzø) And a... is that some kind of fire toad?
Blitzø: The FUCK did you just call me?!
Azathoth: (he groans) Nevermind everybody! It's just another run-of-the-mill Goetia and his pet imp! (the other Colossus sigh in disappointment, some of them leaving)
Blitzø: Wow, you're not gonna give ME a physical exam? Not even a good dick stroking? (he sighs) So uh, we wanted Azathoth. Who the fuck are you?
Azathoth: YOU'RE LOOKING AT HIM, YOU PESTILENCE-SUCKING SUB-ORGANISM! I'M AZATHOTH! FORGOTTEN GOD OF THE ELDRITCH!!! PRESIDER OF THE DARK TAPESTRY!!!! WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU, BITCH?!
Blitzø: Huh, lookie here! (to Stolas) Guess you were right, Stols. (to Azathoth) I'm Blitzø, the guy who's gonna kick your fucking ass! You wanna nap? (Blitzo goes to draw his flintlock pistol) I got your Sleepy Pillz right here, you fucking narcoleptic sperm!
Stolas: (he stops Blitzø) Thanks, Blitzø, but the Lord of Darkness does not require demon-made supplements! (he laughs nervously before facing Azathoth, bowing) We are but humble congregates of yours truly.
Blitzø: 'Congregate'? I don't even know who the fuck- (Stolas slaps Blitzø on his back, making the imp fall to his knees)
Stolas: Forgive me, your Darkness, but I've been plagued by visions of an event which threatens the very existence of Hell itself, and I'm at my wit's end. Have you, God of the Eldritch, any inclination to bestow upon me the source of this catrosophy?
Azathoth: Are you fucking kidding me?! Who gives a fuck about your apocalypse?! Need I remind you whiny organisms that you brought on, like, 500 jizzillion apocalypses WHEN YOU WOKE ME UP!!! HAVE YOU DIPSHITS STOPPED TO THINK IF THIS APOCALYPSE IS YOUR DOING?!
"
— Stolas consults Azathoth.
"Stolas: (staring down at Andrealphus) Get fucked, Slushy.
Andrealphus: (writhing in agony on the ground) How... how did you-
Stolas: (smirking) Did you think I'd conveniently forget about your time-stopping spell? Your cowardly and sadistic tactics have never eluded me. Perhaps if you had the balls to swallow your pride and flee or the forethought to kill me from afar, you wouldn't have to see things from an imp's point-of-view from now on.
"
— Stolas taunting Andrealphus after overcoming his time stop using gravity glyphs.
"Stolas: Oh... (Stolas smiles with tears in his eyes) Via... (Stolas caresses Octavia's face) My beautiful star... My favorite star...
Octavia: Dad... Please! You can't do this! Don't leave me, PLEASE! I don't know what to do! I don't know what to do without you... I beg of you, DON'T LEAVE ME WITH HIM!! (Blitzø reacts with a hurt expression as Octavia buries her face into Stolas' chest, sobbing) You- You said everything would...
Stolas: Via, look at me, my owlette... (Octavia raises her face at Stolas) I- I don't have much-... Please... Don't let my passing rule your life. Shine like the star you are. Go outside, embrace life's moments, make friends, and fall in love... That is my only wish... And know, even as I join the stars, I will always watch over you. You... Will be okay...
"
— Stolas final words.

Quotes Pertaining to Stolas

"♫You can act all high, mighty, and above the bar
But fucking an imp can only get you so far
Me, I'm just your king, what do I know?
I only helped you get where you are
You were Prince Stolas of the Lemegeton
Power so massive it couldn't be undone
Now you're a simp for an imp!
And, from my perspective, you're shrinking like a shrimp♫

Trivia

  • Stolas is based on a Great Prince of Hell from the Ars Goetia chapter of the The Lesser Key of Solomon demonology grimoire, who is also depicted as a crowned owl with long legs with a fascination for plants and stars.
  • His theme song would be "When I'm Sixty Four" by The Beatles.
  • Stolas had various traits similar to that of an actual owl:
    • He could turn his head 180°.
    • He hooted while aroused or when laughing.
    • He ate dead rodents such as mice and rats.
  • This version of Stolas differs slightly from his canon, Hellaverse counterpart in several ways; This Stolas is slightly more authoritative and wise than canon Stolas, though he remains goofy and odd in the same vein as an eccentric wizard. Additionally, this version of Stolas was hundreds of years old chronologically, whereas Hellaverse Stolas is in his thirties. Finally, Stolas and Blitzø are not childhood friends in this series.
  • In this series, Stolas' grimoire is apparently sentient and telepathically converses with him in private. He and his grimoire have a habit of arguing like an old married couple.
  • Because he was prophesied to die young, Stolas had thanatophobia and suffered from severe hypochondria.
  • Stolas' blood was black-colored.
  • Stolas was an author and has written many books, most of which are astronomy texts.
  • Stolas and Octavia had their own star which they created together when Octavia was a child, serving as a symbol of their relationship. It always shined in the skies of Hell over Stolas' mansion, even during the day. Additionally, the star dimmed when Stolas and Octavia are at odds with each other, but shined bright when they were close.
  • Stolas suffered from sleep deprivation due to being at his most active at night (as an owl), whereas during the day he had to perform menial royal duties and attend events or gatherings.
  • In "Extermination Day: Part 1", Stolas stated that he never experienced genuine familial affection (Octavia excluded). This suggests that his mother was either absent from his life or showed little regard for him.
  • He wore reading glasses.
  • Stolas had a severe absinthe addiction, mainly to cope with being abused physically by Stella and emotionally by Paimon. This put even more strain on his relationship with Octavia.
  • He took antidepressants every morning, strongly implying that he suffers from depression.
  • According to Azathoth, Stolas had bald spots and less feathers than normal for an owl of his stature. This was likely from the stress put on by his duties, prophesied death, and home life.
  • At one point, Stolas considered adopting a child so that Octavia would not feel alone. However, Stella shut the idea down, since they already had an heir and she had no interest in adopting "street urchins".
