- "Seviathan: Scared? You should be. Meet the Kraken. I think it smells the traces of human still within you... And it's hungry.
Vaggie: You call that... Thing a pet?
Seviathan: Well, an old friend of our father, but he likes to call it a pet. It's quite handy, y'know. Whenever we find an intruder, or our servants disappoint our father one too many times, we like to toss them into the depths and see how long they last. I wonder how long you'd last..." - — Seviathan to Vaggie after she glimpsed the Kraken swimming around Hell-antis.
The Kraken is a supporting antagonist in Hazbin Hotel: Journey to the Light.
It serves as the supporting antagonist of Chapter 4.
It was an eldritch, violent, octopus-like sea demon in the Envy Ring that serves as the "pet" of the Von Eldritch family. Feared across the Envy Ring, it lurked the seas of Envy and Hell-antis, defended Castle Von Eldritch, destroyed ships and submarines before killing its sailors, or disposing of anything its masters had ordered it to.

Chapter 4[]
In "Dinner and a Show", Vaggie briefly spots a glimpse of the Kraken while walking around Castle Von Eldritch, to which Seviathan makes it clear that it does not like her presence.
In the Chapter 4 finale "It's Never Too Late", Leviathan Von Eldritch begins his hostile takeover over Hell, starting a massive flood that begins engulfing the seven rings. When I.M.P and the hotel crew form an alliance to stop the King of Envy, Leviathan summons the Kraken to aide him in wiping them out. Vaggie, Millie, Cherri Bomb, Striker, Niffty, Fergus, and Angel Dust join forces to stop the Kraken. Angel provides a distraction while the rest of the team attacks the beast from behind. The Kraken manages to grab Millie and attempts to devour her, only for Niffty to stab it in one of its eyeballs. The pained Kraken releases Millie, though she is saved by Fergus. The Kraken proves to be too tough and withstands everything the team throws at it, and manages to catch nearly all of them in its tentacle, preparing to devour them. Baxter and Crymini attempt to use the former's spaceship's artillery to stun the Kraken, but it is unfazed by the assault. Before it could devour Angel Dust, Kraken is finally stopped by Alastor, who summons his demonic tentacles to overpower and constrict the cephalopod. Striker seizes the opportunity to leap onto the Kraken's head, using an angelic knife to cut its skull open, before leaping high in the air and pulling out a blessed revolver, killing the Kraken with a well-placed holy bullet to its exposed brain as it was being helplessly suspended by Alastor. Erased, the Kraken releases its would-be victims and its body sinks to the darkest depths of Envy's ocean.
Appearance[]
The Kraken was a massive, 427-meter-tall octopus-like sea creature with four, bright green eyes, grey-ish blue skin, and eight, beige-colored tentacles. It had two, thin barbles on the sides of its head, sharp teeth, and a long, prehensile tongue.
Powers and Abilities[]
Powers[]
- Atmokinesis: The Kraken could generate tsunamis and whirlpools when diving into water or swimming at a fast pace.
- Aquatic Adaptation: The Kraken could easily adapt to the darkest of ocean depths and climates, which allowed it to survive in crushing depths and below-freezing temperatures.
- Nigh-Invulnerability: The Kraken's skin was extremely dense and invulnerable to typical human weaponry, such as firearms, explosives, and blades. Even the missiles and artillery of Baxter's spaceship only served to agitate the beast. However, the beast's eyes in particular seemed to lack durability as Niffty was able to pierce one of them with a conventional knife.
- Regeneration: When Niffty stabbed one of the Kraken's eyes out, the mutilated eye reformed itself in a matter of seconds.
- Supernatural Strength: Due to its immense size, the Kraken possessed supernatural levels of physical power. Its eight enormous tentacles were capable of collapsing and decimating even the mightiest of ships, cruise liners, and submarines, or effortlessly dragging them to the depths of the ocean at break-neck speeds.
Abilities[]
- Natural Weaponry: The Kraken's primary weapons were its massive, eight tentacles, which it used to crush and drag manmade structures or constrict and fight against its prey. It also sported sharp teeth to devour its prey.
Weaknesses[]
- Blessed weapons: As a sea demon, the Kraken was vulnerable to angelic weapons, which proved to be its downfall when Striker cut its head open with an angelic knife before shooting its exposed brain with a blessed revolver.
- Eye Injuries: Although the Kraken was virtually invincible otherwise, its eyes seemed to be much more vulnerable to piercing damage. However, the Kraken could still regenerate from eyes injuries fairly quickly, which made this more of a minor inconvenience.
Relationships[]
Owner[]
Leviathan Von Eldritch[]
The Kraken was an old-time ally of Leviathan. In the past, it aided the Leviathan in destroying human civilizations and his fight against God. Leviathan viewed the Kraken as little more than a pet, eventually enlisting it in defending Hell-antis from intruders after becoming ruler of the Envy Ring, and using it to dispose of servants who had disappointed him. The Kraken seemed to be loyal to Leviathan, coming to the sea serpent's aid whenever the King of Envy has summoned it.
Leviathan had no reaction to the Kraken's death at the hands of Striker, seemingly viewing the Kraken pathetic and disposable as it was slain by a mere imp.
