Valentine is a one-shot antagonist in Hazbin Hotel: Journey to the Light.
He is the main antagonist of the Chapter 5 episode "Bloody Valentine".
Masquerading as a "love demon", Valentine is a shapeshifting spirit who preys and feeds on the emotional insecurities and regrets of others, tempting them into committing suicide. Originally imprisoned within Charlie's grimoire, he was set free and summoned by Saint Repentious in an ill-advised and desperate attempt for the snake demon to find a lover and companion.

In "Bloody Valentine", a love-starved Sir Pentious steals Charlie's grimoire in an ill-advised attempt to summon a "love demon" who could help him find a suitor. Despite being told by Octavia that love demons cannot be trusted, Pentious goes ahead and begins searching the grimoire for any love demons. Unable to summon any genuine love demons due to his lackluster summoning knowledge, Pentious stumbles upon a page for a demon known as Valentine, who is warned by the grimoire's text to be a very dangerous spirit who should avoid being summoned at all costs. Pentious defies the grimoire since he is "bad boy" who does not live by the rules, and begins performing Valentine's ritual. After Pentious performs the ritual, Valentine's sigil begins glowing, followed by the hotel itself shaking, waking its occupants and prompting Charlie, Vaggie, Molly, and Angel Dust to run to the library where the ritual is being held. Vaggie furiously grabs Pentious by his collar, demanding to know what he has done, which is followed by Valentine emerging from his sigil as the crew look at him in horror.
After adjusting to his new-found freedom, Valentine declares that his summoner, Sir Pentious, is unworthy of love, and instead suggests ending his afterlife. Charlie quickly picks up her grimoire and tries to banish Valentine to where he came from, but the spirit quickly swirls around the room, escaping out of the door as the hotel's power goes off. The hotel crew begins searching for Valentine in the dark hotel, and the spirit takes the opportunity to antagonise different members of the crew in order to select which ones are the most emotionally vulnerable. Eventually, he chooses Molly, Angel Dust, and Vaggie as his victims, whisking the trio away before escaping through a window.
Valentine has taken his three captives into an abandoned warehouse, where he begins psychologically tormenting them on all of their inner securities and faults. The spirit ties a blessed noose around the necks of Vaggie and Angel Dust, and suspends the two so that their feet are just barely touching a small, shaky table that is keeping them from hanging. Valentine tries to convince Vaggie to kill herself for not being able to support her family, and telling her that she is a burden to everyone. However, Vaggie defiantly refuses to end her afterlife and furiously headbutts Valentine. Knocked back but unphased, Valentine eagerly moves on to tormenting Molly. Teleporting Molly to the top of a flight of stairs and tying a blessed noose around her neck, Valentine accuses her of being too much of a "spoiled daddy's girl" who was so preoccupied with her own selfish desires that she did not bother to help Angel Dust when he needed her the most, blaming her for his drug overdose. The love demon claims that it is only fair for her to commit suicide as the only means of repentance. As Molly fearfully contemplates whether to jump, Angel Dust pleas with her to not blame herself for his death, but Valentine silences him with the intention of forcing him to watch his sister take her afterlife.
Before anything can happen, Charlie flies into the warehouse and attempts to fight Valentine. Due to being fueled and empowered by the self-loathing and insecurities of his captives, Valentine is able to easily avoid the princesses' attacks, all while disparaging Charlie's mission and taunting her for her mommy and daddy issues. Valentine casts illusions of Lucifer and Lilith to torment Charlie, the copies of her parents shouting that she is an embarrassment and that they wish that she were dead.
As Valentine revels in the princesses' despair and attempts to break her mind, Sir Pentious arrives and confronts him with the Egg Bois, determined to undo his mess. Valentine destroys most of the Egg Bois effortlessly before engaging Pentious in a hand-to-hand fight, during which he easily restrains Pentious and emotionally tortures him over his life, mocking him for being a disappointment and failure to his family, and taunting him over his wife getting together with another man shortly after he died. Despite Pentious' attempts to fight Valentine off, the love demon overpowers the snake with ease and orders him to do the only "right" thing he has ever done and take his own afterlife. Pentious seemingly agreed with Valentine, but it is revealed to be a distraction as, while Valentine is reveling in Pentious' anguish, Lux appears from behind Valentine and casts a holy light that painfully strips the demon of all his powers, freeing Charlie, Vaggie, Molly, and Angel Dust from his grasp. After Valentine was reduced to a shriveled up, sobbing fetus-lookin' thing, Charlie uses her grimoire to open a portal back inside the grimoire, and Pentious "vibe checks" the spirit into the portal, banishing him to where he came from.

Valentine has a manipulative, slick and cruel demeanor, skillfully exploiting individuals' vulnerabilities to compel them to take their own lives, deriving sadistic satisfaction from their suffering and the act of driving them to self-destruction. He intentionally masquerades as a love demon to target desperate and vulnerable people. Knowing everything about his victims, he is a figure who exerts control and manipulates vulnerable individuals, taking advantage of their weaknesses. He thrives on using his understanding of demons' weaknesses and internal insecurities to gain strength. Valentine oscillates between being an eerily comforting presence (offering his victims "escape" at a steep price) and an outright malevolent force (sadistically toying with their emotions), which could represent an internal struggle or conflict within his victims.
Displaying a high level of emotional intelligence, he carefully chooses his words to drive others into a state of emotional turmoil. Conflict and self-destructive tendencies fuel his enjoyment as he engages in psychological games with those around him.

- Body Control: At one point, Valentine used his powers to silence Angel Dust with a simple shushing gesture so that the spider would be unable to stop Molly from taking her own life.
- Emotional Vampirism: Valentine can feed off of his victims' hopelessness and turn their pain into strength for himself, using their sadness to empower himself.
- Flight: Despite his lack of wings, Valentine is capable of flying and hovering in the air.
- Illusion Creation: Valentine summoned convincing magical copies of Lucifer and Lilith in order to torment Charlie. Later, he caused Pentious to see the image of his family moving on after his death in life.
- Noose Materialization: Valentine can conjure magical nooses from thin air.
- Phasing: Valentine can phase through walls and temporarily make himself intangible to pass through objects and attack other demons' attacks.
- Pain Immunity: Valentine has a complete immunity to pain. When Vaggie headbutted him with enough force to break his nose, he did not show any signs of pain and simply laughed it off.
- Shapeshifting: Valentine can take any form of his desire, and can shift his body in any way he wants. Fancying a wolf-like form by default, he also briefly turned into a snake-like form during his fight with Sir Pentious.
