Hazbin Hotel: Journey to the Light Fanon Wiki

"Unlike the other basic bitch Overlords, me, Val and Voxxy worked together to be the baddest bitches in the entire Pentagram, the Vees! Came up with it myself and anyone who utters it has to give us 500 souls and three samalamigs! To the Vees, it's all about staying in the spotlight, being in the trends, and above everyone else. And if you don't work with us, we can do without you."
Velvette.

The Vees (a name that, for the record, I'm not sure the other two Vs signed off on...), also known as the VVV Overlords and the Three Vs, are the three secondary antagonists of Hazbin Hotel: Journey to the Light.

They serve as the main antagonists in Chapter 1, minor antagonists in Chapter 2, major antagonists in Chapter 3, flashback antagonists in Chapter 4 and major antagonists in Chapter 5.

They are a trio of Overlords who preside over Pentagram City, having reached their positions of power by consolidating their influence and pioneering new age technology and media in the ring of Pride. The three Overlords are one of the Hazbin crew's greatest threats and are determined to irreversibly damage the reputation of the hotel using their influence over media. Their headquarters is located in the Entertainment District.

They consist of Valentino, a moth demon who owns Hell's adult entertainment industry and initially served as the trio's assumed leader; Vox, a narcissistic TV Demon who serves as the current leader of the trio and who owns nearly all of the Pride Ring's multimedia and controls its television broadcasts; and Velvette, a deranged doll demon, fashion icon, and social media influencer, in addition to being Vox and Valentino's social media and PR manager. The Vees collectively preside over the Pride Ring's entertainment district, keeping their screen-slaved populace docile and controlled using hypnotic TV networks, social media apps, and food chains.

While one of the Hazbin crew's primary adversaries for the longest time, the Vees were eventually defeated for good after Alastor tricked them into betting on Angel Dust's soul contract in a deal, a deal which Alastor won, thus breaking Angel's contract and leaving the Overlords in disarray.

Overview

The Vees are a powerful trio of Overlords whose names all start with the letter V. They are also occasionally accompanied by Vox's loyal pet shark, Vark. Each member controls a certain media within the Pride Ring, with Vox being the distributor of Pentagram City's television and music, Valentino controlling the adult film industry, and Velvette being a popular influencer, as well as Vox and Valentino's social media manager.

All three Vs are highly merciless, business-minded, and will do everything and anything if it means staying at the top of the pecking order and pleasing their shareholders, even manipulating and using each other for their own ends. Though they pretend to value their consumers, all three Vs are disinterested with their customers' concerns and are willing to hypnotize, brainwash and enslave their buyers to keep them from leaving.

The trio are considered to be the rulers of Pentagram City (though primarily residing in the entertainment district), having consolidated their power to become the most unstoppable force within the Pentagram. They act as a sort of dysfunctional group of lovers (or family, from Velvette's perspective), and Velvette seems to be the glue that binds the other two together. Despite spending much of their time bickering and butting heads, the trio are a nearly unstoppable force to be reckoned with when they work together to complete their goals. They frequently engage in various activities together when on their off time. These activities range from harmless affairs, such as eating out at WackDonald's, holding lavish yacht and disco parties, and watching movies, to more malicious and immoral acts of crime, such as massacring entire towns full of defenseless sinners for fun, screwing people over in signing their souls over to them, assassinating other Overlords in order to claim their armies or territory, and asserting their power over weaker sinners. Luckily, Vox and Valentino have Velvette to cover up these acts to make the trio seem like reliable associates.

History

Background

In 1933, Alastor manifested in the Pride Ring following his death, and used his new-found demonic power, to topple Overlords who had been dominant for centuries and cause widespread mayhem. Despite effortlessly defeating the Overlords and at one point being considered the unofficial ruler of Pentagram City, Alastor had no interest in power or the business dealings that Overlords would typically be involved with. This left a vacuum in Pentagram City that new sinners could fill in without the previous Overlords hindering their efforts to obtain power. This allowed for the TV Demon, Vox, to rise to the ranks in Hell's hierarchy, effectively taking Alastor's place as the Pride Ring's most powerful sinner, due to the rise in television and newer technology such as Wi-Fi.

Sometime after, Vox met a moth demon known as Valentino and formed a romantic relationship with the moth demon sometime after he manifested in Hell, and the two agreed to consolidate their power and join forces. With Vox wrapped around his finger, Valentino leeched off of the TV Demon's money and influence, using it to propel his own businesses, that being adult entertainment, until he himself reached the position of one of Hell's most recognized Overlords. Soon after, Vox "adopted" a homeless demon named Velvette, and took her under his wing, using his influence to make her an internet icon in Hell. Known by Hell's populace as the "Vees", Vox, Velvette, and Valentino ruled over Pentagram City with an iron fist, eventually earning themselves the titles of Lucifer's "favorite" Overlords, as the King of Hell would often assign them to assassinate other Overlords who had threatened Lucifer or opposed him in some form.

Chapter 1

The Vees together are first introduced successfully slaughtering Butcher Town, before heading off to eat at WackDonald's. The next day, Lucifer visits Porn Studios to inform Valentino that Charlotte Magne obtained Heaven's Light, and tasks the three Overlords with destroying Heaven's Light, as well as sabotaging the Hazbin Hotel's operation by any means. Valentino attempted to accomplish this by having Angel Dust rat out information about the Happy Hotel, but Angel Dust refused to and subsequently betrayed his former pimp, to which Valentino retaliated by kidnapping Angel Dust's pet pig, Fat Nuggets. Afterward, Vox manipulates Sir Pentious into kidnapping the Hazbin Hotel's bartender, Husk, before betraying the snake demon once he brought Husk to him. Vox then brutally tortured Husk by severing his wings and mailing them to the Hazbin Hotel, inviting them to a showdown at Butcher Town, which the three Overlords had recently decimated. The hotel crew arrive at the town, and a fight ensues between them and the Vees. The Vees successfully defeat the crew and take Cherri Bomb as a hostage, but the hotel crew manage to escape, although Angel Dust is mortally wounded after taking a bullet that was meant for Charlie.

Following the battle, Vox, Valentino, and Velvette attempt to formulate a long-term plan, but Lucifer is growing increasingly more agitated as they fail to report the hotel's destruction. He threatens to torture, and possibly kill them, if they fail to report the hotel's destruction the next time he requests a report. With no other choice, Valentino, Vox, and Velvette hastily launch an all-out assault on the Happy Hotel, with the assistance of nearly all of their minions. During the battle, Velvette is defeated by Angel Dust, Cherri Bomb, Niffty, Fergus, and Vaggie, and Vox is eventually defeated by Alastor with assistance from Angel Dust. After half the Happy Hotel crew become incapacitated by the overwhelming forces, Valentino takes his revenge out on Angel Dust by brutally killing Fat Nuggets, greatly traumatizing the spider demon. Eventually, Valentino is finally defeated by Fergus and Angel Dust, and half of Pentagram City is left in shambles as a result of the fight, although the Happy Hotel remains intact.

Chapter 2

Hours after the vicious fight, Vox, Velvette, and Valentino recover from their injuries and meet back up at Porn Studios. After bickering and blaming each other for their failure, Valentino sends Vox to report back to Lucifer, and prepares for their inevitable demise. In a sudden turn of events, Vox reports back to Valentino saying that Lucifer had gone missing. Valentino is both surprised and relieved to hear of Lucifer's disappearance. When asked what to do by Vox, Valentino decides to assume control over the Pride Ring, and orders Vox to not tell anyone about Lucifer's disappearance. Valentino tells Vox and Velvette that they are in charge of Pentagram city now, and they should go heal their own wounds and rebuild their army in the meantime.

Chapter 3

The Vees were relaxing in Porn Studios, before being forcibly summoned to Purgatory, landing on a random, desolate planet in the middle of nowhere. As the confused Overlords questioned how they got there, Satan appeared before them, using the corpses of Manco's counterparts to communicate with them. Satan tasked the three Overlords with finding Heaven's Light and delivering it to the Devil in exchange for ultimate power. Valentino is skeptical on Satan's honesty, so Satan gives bestows them with immense amounts of energy, greatly enhancing all of their abilities. With their already-immense power increased, Valentino, Vox, and Velvette then set out to fulfill Satan's orders and find Heaven's Light.

The Vees successfully capture Angel Dust, Vaggie, Fergus, Husk, and bring them to Lucifer so that the King of Hell can interrogate the team on the location of Heaven's Light. Vox helps Lucifer torture Fergus while Valentino attempts to coerce Angel into working for him again, though Angel bluntly rejects the offer. When interrogating them fails, Lucifer and the three Overlords take the crew to the dark recesses of Purgatory so that Satan can torture Vaggie and project her screams across Purgatory in hopes that Charlie and Alastor (who are in possession of Heaven's Light) will hear it. After the two arrive, a large-scale skirmish ensues with results in Angel Dust using his machine gun to blow the right half of Valentino's head off, rendering the moth demon unconscious, although he would begin slowly healing from his wounds - while Vox and Velvette are stunned by the artillery of Baxter's ship. By the time Valentino recovered, the Happy Hotel crew have already escaped with Heaven's Light.

Satan then berated the Three Vs for their failure to capture Heaven's Light by stating that it should have never given them such a task in the first place after they had previously failed Lucifer, punishing them by stripping them of their power boost and murdering Velvette's doll children - which she created using her new powers - out of spite. Defiantly, Vox declared that their mission wasn't over, and would go on to pursue Baxter's ship in the form of a flying lightning bolt, unleashing a hail of lightning blasts that damage their ship. With no other choice, Baxter activates the lightspeed engines, allowing them to escape the TV Domon, though the ship is heavily damaged during this.

Days later, the Happy Hotel crew go on a mission to obtain a substance called Celumite, which can be used to power a portal that Baxter was creating to escape Purgatory. To obtain such a substance, Fergus, Angel Dust, Vaggie, Husk, Cherri Bomb, and Niffty use Baxter's ship to go inside of a massive comet containing Celumite, discovering that the comet contains a hidden temple room. However, the Vees intercept them, leading to a massive battle which ends in Vox using a powerful lightning blast to destroy the wall that is containing the Celumite, destroying it alongside the Celumite. Vox laughs and revels in the Vees' victory, as the Happy Hotel crew's only hope of escaping Purgatory is seemingly gone. As a result of Vox destroying the wall containing Celumite, the entire temple room begins to collapse. An enraged Vaggie hurls her spear at Vox, but he once again shields himself and his comrades in a protective shield. Valentino promised that he and Angel Dust would soon meet again, before Three Vs all vanish away in a puff of red smoke, laughing triumphantly at their success.

Although the Vees successfully prevented the Happy Hotel crew from escaping Purgatory, they made no progress to further their deal of obtaining Heaven's Light for Satan. Eight years later, Lucifer confronts the three Overlords and attacks them, stating that Satan is growing weary of their stagnant progress. Taking his personal frustration out on them, Lucifer freezes Vox and Velvette in place, and pins Valentino to the ground telekinetically. Lucifer then turned his cane into an angelic sword and stabbed the moth demon in the arm, causing him an excruciating amount of pain. Valentino urgently told Lucifer that the Happy Hotel crew went into hiding and wouldn't be using Heaven's Light anytime soon, but Lucifer reveals that the Happy Hotel crew have recently reunited to escape Purgatory. The King of Hell relents and informs the three Overlords that the Happy Hotel crew are en route to the green planet, and orders the three to stop the crew before they can escape

Valentino, Vox, and Velvette arrive at the green planet (which has since turned red from decay during the timeskip). Vox attacks the Happy Hotel crew at Baxter's base while Velvette follows Angel Dust, Fergus, Cherri Bomb, and the seven angels to a relay tower which they are attempting to activate to power Baxter's portal, attacking them along with Manco's undead counterparts. Velvette is eventually dealt with, and Vox is taken out by the combined efforts of Charlie and Manco. Valentino goes to confront Angel Dust in Baxter's lab, but the seven angels come to Angel Dust's aide. Despite their efforts, the moth demon backs them into a corner and holds them at gunpoint, forcing Angel Dust to reveal himself in order to protect them. Angel and Valentino fight each other, ending in the Overlord using his revolver to shoot one of Angel's limbs off. Following this, Valentino attempts to give him one last chance to revert to his old ways and serve Valentino, but Angel Dust refuses to and seemingly loses all hope in his situation, begging for Valentino to shoot him. Valentino readied his revolver to kill Angel Dust, only for Angel suddenly leaps several feet off the ground and into the arms of the seven angels, who had been flying overhead. The angels then immediately flew out of Baxter's lab, which soon crumbled due to Manco's undead counterparts weakening the foundations.

With all of the Three Vs seemingly defeated, Baxter finally activates the portal, which soon powers up and opens a gateway to Hell for the crew to escape. The Happy Hotel crew are in awe as their chance to escape Purgatory has finally arrived. However, before they could go through the portal together, Vox suddenly appears and uses a lightning bolt from the sky to cause a massive shockwave that sends the crew flying away from the portal. Seizing the opportunity, Vox, Velvette, and Valentino leap through the portal and back into Hell. Mockingly waving goodbye to the Happy Hotel crew, Vox then fired a blast of lightning from the other side of the portal and onto the machine powering it, causing the portal to massively overload. The Happy Hotel crew have no choice but to run back into Baxter's ship and blast away from the planet, which is soon devastated as a result of the portal overcharging.

Chapter 5

Months later, the Vees hold a grand opening of their new headquarters known as V Tower, which they not-so-subtly made to rival the Hazbin Hotel. The three Overlords work extra hard to damage the reputation of the Hazbin Hotel, which is the most popular it's been since it opened. Vox orders the 666 News to work double time on spreading fake news about the hotel and refuses to air any of the hotel's commercials on air, while Velvette uses her influence over the internet to spread hate campaigns on the hotel and its occupants. Valentino is still furious over Angel Dust leaving him and living in the hotel, but finds himself conspiring with Vox when the TV Demons reminds him that, even if Angel is completely redeemed, he cannot ascend to Heaven since his soul belongs to Valentino, much to the pimp's sadistic relief. Valentino plans to use Angel's soul contract to torture the spider until he comes crawling back.

When Vox refers to Angel as his property rather than Valentino's, the pimp lashes out at Vox and hits him. Despite Vox's mild warnings, Valentino yells at Vox that Angel is his property and attempts to punch him, but Vox telegraphs the attack and uses his electric powers to paralyze Valentino, freezing him in place. Vox taunts Valentino and shames himself for giving the pimp the illusion of power and control for so long, and decides that it is finally time to remind Val of his place. When Velvette walks in on them, Vox orders her to tell Val's staff and employees that they all answer to him, threatening to kill Velvette if she does not relay his message.

Weeks later, Valentino and Vox begin using Angel Dust's soul contract to cause him physical pain, since the contract is tied to his soul. They plan on causing Angel so much debilitating pain that he will have no choice but to come back to Valentino to make it stop. Concerned for her brother, Molly leaves the hotel to confront the Vees by herself.

That night, the Vees attend Klub Kaiju for a battle royale, where Vark decimates most of the contestants' pets and monsters, earning the Vees a lot of money. However, the Vees' reveling in their earnings is interrupted when Molly storms into the club after having learned everything Valentino did to her brother. Refusing to be intimidated by the three Overlords, Molly demands that Valentino free Angel. Valentino says that he will only free Angel on the condition that Molly takes his place and becomes his next star, seeing her as a suitable replacement for Angel given their resemblance. He taunts Molly and maliciously presents a soul contract for her to sign which will break Angel's contract at the price of her taking Angel's place. Just before Molly could reluctantly sign the contract, Alastor enters Klub Kaiju and approaches them, accompanied by Sera and Serenity - who are wearing demon disguises -. Unbeknownst to the Vees, Alastor has come to prove to Sera that he is capable of doing good so that the Seraphim will have faith in the hotel, but to Sera's horror, Alastor wagers that Serenity can defeat Vark in a fight. Due to Serenity's sweet and pacificitic nature, the Vees greatly underestimate her and assumed it will be an easy win for Vark. Vox and Alastor agree to do battle with Vark and Serenity serving as their champions. Alastor says that if Vark loses, Valentino is to give up Angel Dust's soul contract; Vox wagers that if Serenity loses, Valentino gets to keep Angel and will also get Serenity as a new employee and servant.

The Vees watch Serenity "fight" Vark, completely confident that Vark will win. However, Serenity begins winning without even having to fight Vark, pacifying the shark using some kind of heavenly magic that makes Vark adorable and passive. Furious and unwilling to let Angel's contract go, Valentino kills one of his waitresses and uses her blood to send Vark into a fury, snapping him out of Serenity's spell and causing him to attack her. Serenity is unaffected by everything Vark throws at her, due to her Seraphim heritage, and defeats Vark by tricking the demon shark into running into a wall over and over, making Vark loopy and eventually knocking him unconscious. Serenity, to everyone's surprise, is declared a winner, and Valentino watches in complete anger as Angel's soul contract burns away, freeing Angel once and for all from the moth's grasp. Alastor grins at Sera despite her being furious at him for putting Serenity in danger, since he technically did a good thing by freeing Angel. Alastor, Molly, Serenity, and Sera all leave to tell Angel the good news while Velvette is on her phone, frantically trying to cover up Valentino's major loss while Vox and Valentino are in a state of stunned, bitter silence. Having lost Valentino's most valuable "property", the Vees were left embarrassed and completely defeated, never daring to show their plastic faces to the Hazbin crew again.

Trivia

  • Each member of the trio is affiliated to a specific type of media. With Vox's being television, Valentino's being adult entertainment, and Velvette's being social media.
  • Each member of the trio acts as a primary antagonist to one of the main protagonists; with Valentino being Angel Dust's, Vox being Alastor's, and Velvette being Vaggie's.
  • Calling the Vees "friends" is a bit of stretch; they are more like partners who use each other and are toxically codependent, and are willing to backstab each other at a moment's notice in small or big ways. They can have some moments of bonding that are undone by their own desires of endless clout and power. Even Vox and Velvette, who have the closest relationship within the trio, are not above threatening each other when sufficiently pissed off.
  • Velvette came up with the trio's name "The Vees" (a name I'm not sure the other two Vs signed off on...). She's also the only member who calls themselves that.
  • The Vees have a very negative reputation within the circle of Overlords, due to their traitorous, disrespectful attitudes and reckless behavior.
  • According to Velvette, the Vees hold auditions for a new V every other month or so. They never actually accept anyone and just watch the auditions to have a laugh, mock the applicants, and post their embarrassing moments online.
  • Vaggie was once invited by Velvette to join the trio, but she declined out of loyalty and dedication to Charlie, which sparked Velvette's petty hatred of her.
  • If the Vees ever accepted a member whose name did not start with a "V", they would force a new name on them and put them through a rebranding.
  • According to Velvette, their name is trademarked and anyone who says it out loud has to give the Overlords "500 souls and three samalamigs".
  • The authors of the series personally believe that Vox is the most evil of the Vees, while Valentino is the second most evil, and Velvette is the least evil and most redeemable, but still evil AF.
